It’s designed for 12V DC systems and draws 2.1 amps, giving you dependable illumination when maneuvering in tight spots or low light. Moisture is no match for this fully sealed trailer light. The housing and lens are waterproof, making it ideal for trailers that might see rain, spray, or even full submersion. The sealed design keeps out water that could corrode wiring or shorten bulb life, so you get consistent performance every time you back down the ramp or travel through wet conditions.
This light uses a premium 1156 dual-filament bulb rated for up to 15,000 hours. Inside, there are 3 supports for the minor filament and 2 supports for the major filament to reduce vibration stress. Wedge-base sockets help prevent early failure, while copper alloy conductors eliminate wiring issues. It’s built to last through years of use without flicker or failure.
For a neat installation, the Peterson 415K mounts flush using the included grommet and 2-wire plug. One lead provides power and the other ground, keeping wiring straightforward. The recessed-mount setup protects the light from bumps and makes it easy to replace an existing unit or add a new one using a matching cutout or bracket.
When it’s time for a new bulb, just remove the lens to access the replaceable 1156 bulb—no special tools needed. This design keeps upkeep simple while letting you swap in a fresh incandescent or compatible LED version when you’re ready for an upgrade.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson Round Submersible Trailer Backup Light with the grommet and the two wire plug. Now this is an incandescent trailer light. Which will provide a backup light function for trailers and utility trucks. It's a nice sealed waterproof housing and lens unit. It uses a premium bulb that's rated up to 15,000 hours and the bulb type it uses an 1156 dual filament design. Does use a wedge-base socket to prevent premature failure.
And it uses copper alloy conductors to eliminate the possibility of wire failure. Has a nice clear lens over the incandescent bulb. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.The dimensions on this, the diameter is right at four and a quarter inches. Total depth of the unit is right about two and one sixteenths of an inch. It is a recessed mount design comes with the included grommet.
The grommet is designed to fit into a four and a half inch diameter hole. So basically you just put your light in there, push your grommet down all the way around the light. And once you get it down all the way, then it's designed to fit into a recessed mount four and a half inch diameter hole.The two wire plug that's included includes the power lead and a ground wire. You can see the light has a spot for a three wire plug. You can use a three wire plug.
The three wire plug will provide an additional accessory low light function if needed. We'll just slide in the two wire plug and then we're going to hook this up to some power just to show you how bright it is for a backup light.This light is made in the USA. The power draw at 12 volts is 2.1 amps. So again, what we're going to do here, they have two wires, the red is your power, the white is your ground. So we're going to go ahead and hook up the ground.
And then we'll go ahead and hook up our power. And then I'm going to go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power. And you can see the light come on. And then if I go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, you can see the bright light. So you just wire this into your reverse light circuit. So when you go into reverse, it'll automatically come on. And turn off our overhead light or turn off our power, turn back on our overhead light. But that should do it for the review on the Peterson Round Submersible Trailer Backup Light with the rubber grommet and the two wire plug.
