Hassle-Free Size Compatibility: Multi-Fit Coupler Design

Tired of switching actuators with different ball sizes? The Dexter Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator has a multi-fit ball coupler that accommodates 1-7/8", 2", and 50-mm hitch balls. This flexible design makes it a perfect fit for a variety of towing needs without the hassle of swapping components. Enjoy the freedom and ease of a one-size-fits-all approach to your towing setup.

Dependable Towing Impact: Hydraulic Surge Brake System

Experience seamless and safe deceleration with this surge-type actuator. When your vehicle slows down, it intelligently uses momentum to activate your trailer brakes for smooth stopping power. The hydraulic system eliminates the jerkiness often associated with towing, giving you confidence on the road every time you hit the brakes.

Built to Withstand the Elements: Durable Zinc-Plated Steel Construction

Stop worrying about corrosion and rust damage on your trailer brakes. The Dexter Brake Actuator features zinc plating, which is not only strong but incredibly resistant to harsh weather conditions. This corrosion-resistant finish ensures that your actuator stays in top condition for the long haul.

Secure and Convenient Coupling: Turn-Wheel Latch Mechanism

No more struggling with unreliable latch mechanisms. The turn-wheel latch on this brake actuator allows for easy and secure coupling around your hitch ball, ensuring a snug fit. This hand-adjustable feature offers peace of mind that your trailer remains firmly attached during every journey.

Reliable Performance Metrics: 7,000 lbs Load Capacity

Take your towing to the next level with an impressive 7,000 lbs gross towing weight capacity, making it ideal for medium to heavy-duty trailers. Whether you’re towing a boat, car, or a large trailer, this brake actuator has the power to get the job done without breaking a sweat.

Effortless Installation: Bolt-On Design

Simplify your setup with the bolt-on installation feature of the Dexter Brake Actuator. The 3" wide mounting holes mean you can quickly and easily attach the actuator to your trailer without the need for professional help. Spend less time on setup and more time enjoying your towing adventures.

  • Replacement Surge Brake Actuator for Discontinued 6,000 lb Atwood Coupler
The number 61101 isn't actually the part number, but I believe you are looking at the Atwood 84132. If this coupler is not opening enough to engage the ball, the first thing to check is the trigger lock. If it is not disengaged, the ball will not fit. If it is seized up, you will want to use some lubricant spray to try to see if you can get the mechanism to function. Unfortunately we don't have the replacement parts for that linkage as Atwood has discontinued them. If you need to replace...

  • Replacement For Discontinued Atwood Drum Brake Actuator For 2 Inch Hitch Ball
Thanks for all that detailed info, and Atwood is out of business which is why you can't find the exact replacement. We do have an option for you, that will bolt on, with the caveat being you will likely have to use shims. The reason for that is the only option to replace it is a bolt-on coupler meant for 3" wide channel tongues, so it won't be quite 3-1/2" wide. So what I recommend is one from Titan, which does have mounting holes 3" apart on center like yours, but you will also need to...

  • Replacement Coupler Recommendation for Fulton A50 Actuator
My contact at Fulton confirmed that the A50 series is now obsolete and they don't make replacement parts. For a replacement, I recomemend the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum - Multi-Fit Ball - Bolt On - 7K # T43397007K with lockout # T4748800. This surge brake actuator will help make your 2007 EZ Loader Trailer functional again. This has an emergency lockout cable as well.

  • Replacement Coupler for Atwood Hydraulic Brake Actuating Coupler for Drum Brakes
The Atwood brake actuating coupler number 61101 is no longer directly replaceable. Atwood has been bought out so I recommend replacing your actuator with the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K which can use # T4748800 as an electric lockout solenoid. This coupler has bolt holes that are 3 inches on center. I've attached a video to help further.

  • Troubleshooting Smoke Coming From Trailer Tire Area on Trailer
It sounds like you have 1 of 2 things going on. Either your tire is making contact with your trailer frame which is causing it to smoke, or you don't have enough grease on the inside of your hub so your bearings are causing all of that smoke. If it were your brake fluid you either wouldn't notice it as it would be such a small leak or your brake fluid would basically be empty. Check your tire for any signs of abnormal wear. If that looks good then you need to remove your hub and check...

  • Trailer Coupler is Stuck on Hitch Ball and Will Not Release
First, release the mechanism that holds the coupler onto the ball. It may be a lever or a knob that has to be turned. Some require a dual action move where you would push back or forward on the lever while lifting up on it. If you have done this and it seems to be stuck then it is most likely a binding issue. You can try moving the tow vehicle and trailer forward or backward to release the tension between the ball and coupler. Binding can occur if the trailer and tow vehicle are not on...

  • Can a Bolt-On Surge Brake Actuator Replace a Weld-On Surge Brake Actuator
Yes, you can replace a weld-on surge brake actuator with a bolt-on surge brake actuator and you can weld a bolt-on surge brake actuator to the trailer. If you are handy with a welder and have one available then I prefer this method over the other as you never have to worry about a nut backing off or drilling holes into the frame. If you can provide me with some more info on your trailer then I would be happy to recommend a surge brake actuator for you but if not I have attached our available...

  • Recommended Surge Brake Actuator With Electric Lockout For Drum Brakes
We do have a surge actuator that can add an electric lockout for drum brakes. I recommend the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator, part # T43397007K. This actuator is adjustable to fit 1-7/8, 2, and 50-mm hitch balls and is a bolt-on for 3 inch wide trailer tongues. The breakaway kit is included with this actuator. For the lockout you can then use # T4748800. If you have a 7-way connector on the back of your Expedition, you will need to change the trailer connector to match. I assume you...

Thanks for the photo! In order to replace the surge brake actuator, I recommend taking a look at the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator part # T43397007K. This actuator is zinc plated for corrosion resistance, will work with 1-7/8"/ 2" hitch balls, and can utilize an electric lockout like # T4748800 for easy reversing. It will fit a 3" wide tongue and comes with a one year warranty. I have attached a review video for you as well. Unfortunately, we would not have the correct brake cylinder...

I would need some more information before setting you up. What is your axle's weight capacity? Do you have an idler hub or hub and drum? What size are your wheels? • Hub and Drum and Brakes for Trailer With 2,000 lb Axles & Bearings L44649
Thanks for that great information we have exactly what you need for your 2,000 lb axles. The number you gave of 1.063 inches in diameter where your bearings ride on the spindle corresponds to Bearing # L44649. Knowing that, we can get you the correct hub and drum, which is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-2K. These hub and drums work with 7" brake assemblies and for hydraulic brakes the correct assembly is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399. These...

  • Comparing The Dexter T43397007K And T63FR Brake Actuators
We can certainly help you replace your Atwood Actuator. The Dexter # T43397007K and # T63FR actuators you mentioned are going to be similar in that they are made for trailers with drum brakes and they both will bolt on to a 3" tongue. As far as the height/ dimension of the actuator itself, it really just comes down to design and the placement of the internal components. The # T43397007K has the master cylinder connections above the tongue, whereas the # T63FR is more for trailers where...

It is rated for use with drum brakes just like the Atwood actuator and it can utilize an electric lockout # T4748800. • Replacement for Atwood Surge Brake Actuator 82541
It sounds like you have free backing braking assemblies on your trailer so a lockout at the trailer coupler is not needed. In order to replace the Atwood Surge Brake Actuator 82541, I recommend using the Titan Leverlock Brake Actuator part # T43397007K although the Brake Actuator with Manual Lockout part # T63FR would work as well. • Recommended Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For An Atwood 85778
Since the Atwood actuator line was discontinued, the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K has been one of the most popular replacements for it. This is rated up to 7,000 pounds and can accept both 1-7/8" and 2" balls, so it is a very good option. However, we do have an alternate that you may want to take a look at.
