Question:
Hi i have a 2008 jayco jay series 1206 pop up camper it has surge brakes but the whole actuator is junk. I need to replace it but im not sure what i need i measured the bolts and its 3 center and im measuring about 3 5/8 on the gap in the tongue where it was. I would greatly appreciate any help if possible.

Hey Patrick! Do you have drum brakes or disc brakes? Is the actuator 3-5/8" wide or is the channel tongue on your trailer that wide? I'm guessing you have a 3" wide channel tongue which is pretty standard. Do you need a coupler for a 2" ball or 2-5/16" ball? For example, the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-20 you were looking at is designed to fit a 2" ball, 3" tongue, and works with disc brakes.
The bolt pattern probably doesn't match since it has that third bolt hole but I'm not entirely sure what yours looks like. If you like a particular actuator you can always drill new holes, but I understand not wanting to if it isn't necessary. Is it a line of 2 bolts running straight across 3" apart on center? That would match the Dexter # T43397007K which is designed for drum brakes and fits 1-7/8" and 2" balls.
