Can u replace a weld on actuator with a bolt on one. Can the bolt on be welded?

Yes, you can replace a weld-on surge brake actuator with a bolt-on surge brake actuator and you can weld a bolt-on surge brake actuator to the trailer. If you are handy with a welder and have one available then I prefer this method over the other as you never have to worry about a nut backing off or drilling holes into the frame.

I have a Trail rite triple axle with drum brakes carrying a 6750 lb (dry weight), SeaRay boat. I would like to replace the welded on actuator with a new one. Can you tell me which unit I need, can I cut the old one off with a cutoff wheel, and is welding the new one on ok. Thank you
