The Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator takes care of brake control automatically. When your tow vehicle slows down, this hydraulic actuator senses the push from your trailer and sends pressure to your disc brakes for even, reliable stopping. It’s rated for 7,500 lbs and built for 2" ball couplers, so it delivers plenty of strength for heavier loads. The low-profile latch design keeps the connection secure without sticking up or getting in the way when hitching and unhitching.
No more hopping out to block off your brakes every time you need to reverse. The built-in electric solenoid lockout activates automatically when you shift into reverse through a 5-pole flat, 6-way round, or 7-pole connector. That means you can back up ramps or tight driveways without triggering your trailer brakes. It’s one less chore and a lot less tire drag when maneuvering.
Inside the actuator, an aluminum master cylinder replaces older cast-steel styles. That upgrade makes a big difference in corrosion resistance and overall life, especially when used around water or damp roads. The clean bore design also helps maintain smooth fluid pressure so your brakes engage predictably every time you stop.
This unit is meant for a permanent weld-on setup that gives you a rigid, maintenance-free mount point. It’s sized for straight tongues measuring 3" x 3" or 3" x 4", with an overall length of 17.5". Once welded on, there are no bolts to loosen or brackets to check—just a clean fit ready for years of towing duty.
