Features to know about

Smooth, Controlled Towing: 3,500-lb Round Axle Maintains Even Tire Contact

A stable ride starts with a straight, balanced axle. This 3,500-lb round axle measures 95" hub-face-to-hub-face and 80" spring-center-to-spring-center, built with a slight bend that creates zero camber for even tread contact across your tires. It keeps your trailer tracking straight for steady acceleration and controlled towing mile after mile.

Ready to Roll Fast: Pre-Greased Idler Hubs with Bearings and Seals Installed

No need to pack bearings before mounting—this axle comes with pre-greased idler hubs that include bearings, races, seals, and lug nuts already in place. The cast iron hubs use the L68149 inner bearing and L44649 outer bearing for smooth rotation on 13" to 15" wheels. It’s a clean, ready-to-install setup that saves time in the shop or driveway.

Built Tough Where It Counts: High-Strength Steel with Strong Welds

Heavy loads demand strong parts, and this axle is made from high-strength steel for dependable performance. The patented welding process reinforces the spindles with welds that are 40% stronger to prevent failure under stress. Each spindle is drilled for an Easy Grease zerk so you can keep the bearings properly lubricated without disassembly.

Low Ride Height for Easy Loading: Underslung Leaf Spring Design

The spring seats are welded to the underside of the axle so your leaf springs mount below it. This underslung layout keeps the trailer low for faster loading and unloading while maintaining stability on the road. It’s a practical setup that simplifies moving gear or cargo without extra lifting effort.

Proven and Certified: CSA, QAI, and SAE-N Tested for Safety

This axle meets certification standards from CSA, QAI Laboratories, and SAE-N for strength and safety under real-world conditions. From construction quality to braking performance testing, it’s built and verified to deliver reliable results every time you tow.

This is the 2nd of two axles that I've bought to upgrade one of my trailers. Great product and fast shipping. Etrailer.com is my go-to source for most all of my trailer needs.

by:

I received the trailer axle in a timely manner and fit was perfect! Very happy with the new assembly and no longer worried about wearing out tires on a long road trip.

by:

This time was only average. Axle with idler hubs should include the bearings and seals. lost 2 days of work due to these items were missing. Requested ON shipping and it took an additional 3 days. Shipping needs to learn the products so orders are complete the first time

by:

It would be five stars if it would have included the castle nuts and washers. That should be part of the hub kit.

by:

The axle fit perfectly and was easy to install. I have towed a couple thousand miles this year and have had no problems. Thanks

I year later we have towed my Jeep on 2 3000 mile trips and I like having the greaseable hardware on the spring mounts. We have not had any problems with eTrailer axels at all. Buy with confidence.

Will install tomorrow then able to write a review

I bought this axle and hubs to replace my broken and worn axle that was left on the side of the road. I had tried a quick fix, but the axle from a local store was too narrow. I found this trailer axle and hub kit and it was the correct assembly to fit my trailer. I was able to replace the worn-out axle and hubs. The new trailer axle and hubs handle my load of the trailer with two Jet Skis, along with a toolbox and extra gas cans. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. A year later I just came home from another trip with the trailer and everything is working great. I had a fabrication shop weld the spring mounts on the trailer axle when I replaced it and it tracks straight down the road. Not bad from a 75-year-old retired guy.

Not bad at all, James! I hope when I'm 75 I'll be able to fix my trailer and cruse down the road hauling some jet skis too! When's the next time you get to take them out on the water?

  • Replacement 3,500 lbs Axle for a Dexter w/a 93" Hub Face and 80" Spring Seat Spacing
It definitely will Paul. The spring seats on the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs item # e52GR are welded on at an 80" spacing. All you'll need to do is bolt this up where your current axle sits. You will want to replace the U-bolts though. It's not recommended to reuse them when swapping out axles. The item # APUBR-1 kit will provide everything you need. What happened to your old axle?

  • Replacement for 3,500 lb Lippert Axle with 92" Hub Face and 80" Spring Center Dimensions
Hey Carl, The Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # e52SR will fit in place of your current Lippert 3,500 axle, but it will be about 3" wider which translates to 1-1/2" on either side. This comes with the hub/drum and brakes so if you're only needing idler hubs then the part # e52GR is the alternative.

  • How to Find Replacement Axle for Hurricane HUR 2178 Boat Trailer
Finding a replacement axle will require measuring your current axle. Specifically, the hub face to hub face measurement. I would say based on the GVWR it is a 3,500 lb axle. It could possibly be a 3,000 lb axle depending on what they figured for tongue weight, but that would be obsolete so you're looking at 3,500 lbs either way. We only have two length options for 3,500 lb axles so I'll list them below. If you switch from a 3k axle you will also need new hubs. You can choose from the following:...

  • Solution for Replacement Hub on 1993 Ranger Trail Trailer With L68149 Inner and Outer Bearing
A # L68149 inner and outer bearing is not a standard combination. Your # 010-180-00 is also not a very common grease seal. Unfortunately, there are no replacement hubs available that match this combination. The first thing I would do is verify that they are in fact # L68149 bearings. The part number may be stamped on the side, or you can measure the inner diameter using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157. Assuming that is correct, since there are no replacement hubs available the best...

  • How to Measure for Replacement Axle on Dual PWC Trailer
Since you're looking for a complete axle, hub, and suspension kit the easiest way to go is with the Timbren Axle-Less system. You can use part # A35RS545 for a standard hub or part # A35RS545E for a replacement hub/drum and brake system. These bolt directly to your trailer frame so it's just a matter of following the instructions and making sure you have everything spaced out correctly. You will need to have this same Axle-Less system installed for both axles though so you can't mix this...

Yes, the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # e52GR can be used on a tandem jet ski trailer which does not require trailer brakes. • Updating An Obsolete Trailer Axle to Work With 5 on 4-1/2" Idler Hubs
I have a couple recommendations as based on your bearings it sounds like your spindle is obsolete. You may be able to replace your spindles with an #84 E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU74FR that is common on 3,500lb axles. That would allow you to install the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you are needing. The next option is a replacement Axle # e52GR. This particular axle has a hub face to hub face measurement of 95" and the leaf spring...

So you'll have to do some measuring, as you will need to know the dimensions of your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; I have added a link below to a video which walks you through how to measure. The other thing you need to know is the weight capacity of the axle you need, which should match or exceed the GVWR of...
