If you want peace of mind when leaving tools or gear in the bed, this cover locks down tight. The BAK Revolver X2 combines rustproof 1/4" thick aluminum slats with a tough vinyl skin that keeps the surface smooth and sealed. When the tailgate is locked, the cover can’t be opened—no snaps or Velcro to fuss with. The aircraft-grade aluminum structure not only resists cutting and prying but also supports up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed, keeping everything underneath safe from weather and theft.
With some hard covers, you have to remove panels to haul taller items. The Revolver X2 rolls up smoothly against the cab, giving you full use of the bed without blocking your rear window. Built-in nylon straps and plastic buckles hold it in place while you drive, and rubber bumpers keep the rolled-up section from touching the cab. Because it mounts inside the bed rails, you can still use stake pockets for ladder racks or tie-down accessories.
Some covers sit high and ruin the truck’s lines, but this one stays nearly flush with the rails for a sleek finish. The textured black vinyl top stretches tight over the aluminum slats, so it doesn’t flap or wrinkle. The side rails rotate to lock down the edges, sealing along the entire length with matte black rubber that helps keep out rain and dust.
Daily use is simple—just roll it out and press down on the rear slat to engage the cover’s integrated latches along both sides. When latched, pivoting teeth lock the cover to the rails from front to back. To open it again, drop the tailgate and pull either of the release cords at the corners. The design uses no snaps or Velcro, just a clean mechanical system that secures automatically every time you close it.
Installation doesn’t require drilling or complicated alignment. The frame rails clamp inside the bed rails using mounting plates that position everything squarely. Pre-installed shims and spacers help ensure a snug fit without trial and error. Once tightened down, the front hinge rail bolts directly to the frame rails at the cab for a solid foundation that’s ready for everyday use.

Hi Laura - I am still pleased with my BAK bed cover. I dont like it quite as well as the previous version I had on my other 2013 Nissan Frontier truck which got stolen, hence the new cover, but I am still pleased with the product. The new cover doesnt roll or latch quite as smoothly as the old one, but it still works well. They also slightly changed the clips for anchoring the rolled up cover, and I find them harder to clip in and maintain tension on the strap, but again they do work. Thanks for following up.

Its still holding up well and it looks as good as it did the day I installed it. I have no regrets about making this purchase.

My judgment has not changed. This cover is still excellent. If I ever get a different truck, this will be among my first accessory purchases.

Well, not so happy with the product. The carpeting fell off on the underside of the cover. Also the right side of the cover towards the tailgate shrank. Its been a few months since I started to have those issues and should of contacted you earlier for warranty. Hopefully its not too late for a warranty claim.

I am sorry to hear that this cover is not working out for you. Would you be able to send a picture of where the vinyl is separating from the aluminum?
