You don’t have to splice or tap into factory wiring with this harness. The Curt T-Connector plugs straight into the existing tail light connections, giving you a ready 4-pole flat trailer connector for brake lights, taillights, and turn signals. It’s a straightforward, hidden setup that keeps everything neat behind the panels.
The built-in powered converter uses its own 12-volt feed to operate trailer lights without drawing power directly from the vehicle circuits. That direct battery connection prevents overloads and keeps the factory wiring safe, especially when towing trailers with LED lighting or added accessories.
The 4-flat connector handles the basics—running, turn, and brake lights—and can be expanded later if you need a 7-way setup for trailer brakes or 12-volt charging. It’s a solid starting point that pairs easily with add-on kits when you’re ready for more capability.
The included hot lead and fuse holder wire directly to the positive battery terminal to supply clean power to the converter. It’s the one extra step that makes the system reliable long-term. Once connected, you’ve got consistent voltage and lighting every time you tow.

The wiring harness for the hitch I install on my 2017 Volvo XC60 R-Design works great. The installation video made it a snap to get the harness installed. Having access to a lift made the running of the power wire to the battery very easy.
I ended up buying this because UHaul/Curt stopped selling the kit that matched my vehicle. The installation was straightforward. The quality is good. It has been a year and I have had no problems.
Didn't leave an immediate reviews b/c I didn't actually use it right away. Easy install and works flawlessly on small trailer. I didn't use the large gauge wire directly to the battery b/c I didn't need the electric brakes and I would have had to get dirty and break knuckles under the vehicle.
This kit fit well and works well, though I don't like opening the hatch and then passing the chord out every time I want to tow. So, I cut the wires, passed it through a drain plug on the bottom of the car, and spliced them all back together. I think this is just about a necessity if you're installing the 7 pin and brake controller, which I did. You can't hardly pass the four pin out the hatch every time you want to hitch up. All in all this is a great trailer wiring system. It fit great and was a fast install.

Only suggestions: use electric fish line to run cable inside frame and don’t hack at battery holder, simply remove lid and drill a small hole downward at corner, much better and aesthetic as well.

Still great after one year !
There was a little snafu with shipping but Joshua went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed!
everything was included installation instructions perfect the battery supply cable was defiantly long enough to go from the battery to the rear of vehicle, ran my cable along the inside of the car as much as possible to reduce exposure to the elements.
Install video easy to follow and high quality wiring harness.
The part fits, instructions were clear and the trailer wiring works.
Had the mechanics install and weld it to the frame. Hitched the trailer to it today and loaded it. It should keep for the whole 1400 miles.

It is doing well after another year 2 total. Have used it for 3 x-country moving trips and several instances of hauling things around town. Electrical and mechanical have worked fine.
