Troubleshooting Backup Camera Problems with Curt Wiring Installed on a 2012 Volvo XC60

Question:

I have a 2012 Volvo xc60 with the this harness. I’m installing a reverse camera and the reverse lights trigger the monitor to turn on. After 20 seconds or so, the monitor gets noisy and then goes blue. Could the harness affect the signal going to the camera system? The camera is a boyo vtc175m

It could be that the draw of the Curt T-Connector # C56355 on your 2012 Volvo XC60 that's causing the problem, but I will say that it's not uncommon for backup camera systems to be a bit finicky so I recommend disconnecting the tees of the Curt system from the tail lights on your XC60 and then running your camera system through the motions to see if you're still having issues or not. If you are then it's the camera system itself, but if you aren't then that means the Curt wiring is causing problems.

Thanks for the feedback. Completely removed the harness and I still have the issue so it must be the camera.
