Features to know about

Installs Without Cutting Wires: Plug-In T-Connector

Adding trailer lights doesn’t have to mean stripping and splicing wires. This Curt T-Connector plugs straight into the existing wiring, giving you a 4-flat trailer connector without altering any factory circuits. Just snap it into the matching plug behind the trim panel, and you’re ready for towing lights that work right out of the box.

Draws Power Safely from the Vehicle: Powered Converter

The built-in powered converter keeps your trailer lighting separate from your vehicle’s circuits. It uses a dedicated “Battery +” wire to power the trailer lights directly from the vehicle’s battery instead of loading down the taillight wiring. That means steady, reliable light signals and less risk of blowing a fuse when you hook up your trailer.

Ready for Any Basic Trailer: 4-Flat Connection

The 4-flat connector delivers all the essentials—running lights, brake lights, and turn signals—so it works with most small utility, boat, or rental trailers. It’s also easy to adapt later if you add a brake controller or upgrade to a 7-way setup.

Compact Setup Stows Cleanly in Cargo Area

The converter box mounts neatly inside the cargo area using double-sided tape, keeping it protected from water and road grime. When not in use, you can roll up the 4-flat and store it out of sight, then pull it out through a grommet or rear hatch whenever you need it.

I was a little worried that the wiring connector and harness wouldn't fit right in line. But it literally took ten minutes to install without a problem. I was very pleased with the product.

by:

I was very happy to find this wiring kit that perfectly fit my WJ (99-04) Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was literally plug and play! Still working fine, and I would buy it again!

by:

This was a great buying experience, not only was it the correct part but installation was as quick & easy as the shipping. Etrailer offers this somewhat expensive part at a huge discount compared to the dealership. I'm definitely going to consider Etrailer for my new boat trailer lights.

by:

Second product from etrailer... both have been flawless. Curt makes a quality product, etrailer has fabulous customer service and prompt shipping. Well done!

by:

I routed it different than they did on the video i went through my taillight housing and there's a gap in the rear bumper to get it under to the hitch

by:

worked great! I routed the connector through the grommet behind the tailight down to the hitch area and the length was perfect. I paired it with item 37185 which fit directly into the factory 7 prong plug bracket on the back of the car.

by:

Lights works great. I would have liked about 2 ft more wire to go to the front side lights. I had to add an extension to make it long enough to connect to the vehicle.

by:

Plugs into my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and works. Chose this model because of the inline fuse. My previous one didn't have an inline fuse, which resulted in melted wires when the ground on the trailer disconnected. This one works and provides an extra layer of protection.

by:

I'm a mechanic and the installation process took a matter of minutes. Following the directions the at home mechanic should be able to install this kit in no time. I was able to remove my drivers sode brake light housing and run the wiring under the vehicle to my hitch.

I recently ordered a trailer connector wiring kit 04 Jeep grand Cherokee. Shipping was great especially for Christmas time came in quickly. Installed it on the jeep, everything fit as it should I am satisfied and would recommend this product.

Factory fit,easy install

by:

This wiring harness worked well (integrated) with the other electronics that I purchased (a brake controller) and a hitch receiver back-up alarm/plug Good price!

by:

I'm not hauling things daily but for the times that I do use it, this trailer hitch has been great for what I've needed. After a year of having it, it has been really dependable. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light-duty trailer hitch.

by:

Easy installation. Great service, timely delivery. Repeat customer who will continue doing business with etrailer.com

I still have the 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee that they were installed on and all is doing well. I am a Scout leader and hunter and pull a Scout trailer on trips and have a large flat trailer I pull on hunting and fishing trips. It went on very easy.

by:

Worked perfectly!

by:

I ordered and received the trailer wiring kit for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. With the kit came instructions, with color pictures, for installation. I followed the install instructions as written. They were clear and simple. Everything on my Jeep was exactly where the instructions said they would be. Installation took about 30 minutes (had a couple of telephonic interruptions). Once completed I tested the circuits. All worked exactly as they were supposed to. This appears to be a well made kit, easy to install, and should last for some time. ettrailer was quick to send, web site easy to order from. Thanks, highly recommended.

Working great. Not one issue.

I payed for next day delivery on Thursday it just got here on Tuesday and it came in my brother's name not mine. But it fits and works properly. His name is Robert, my name is kevin,we live at the same address buttt....

by:

I was skeptical since I didn’t have a factory tow package that there would be a connector inside the Grand Cherokee body. But thankfully it was, and it was a simple install. Much better than the wiring someone else had tapped into the brake light 20 years ago.

by:

Very good customer service at etrailer.
The
installation of this kit was to me a (Plug & Play) type of installation.
It couldn't be easier!
I think I had the whole job compleated in about a half hour including clean up time.

by:

Worked exactly as I was hoping it would, simple plug and play

by:

Extremely fast shipping and exactly what I was looking for. I love the fact that it’s plug and play. Would buy again in a heartbeat

by:

The wiring kit worked out great for me thank you very much

  • How To Install The Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness In A 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
To install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55369 you linked to in your 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee without factory tow package you'll need to do the follow steps: 1. Remove the rear threshold seen in figure B/C 2. Remove the screws on the driver side trim panel and pull back the panel to gain access to the green vehicle harness (D,E,F). 3. Insert the green custom wiring connector housing into the green vehicle harness housing. Make sure...

7-Way trailer connector # HM42190 for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee looks similar to a 4-Way but the end that plugs into the vehicle has 7 pins in it for the 7 functions on the connector. It is not a confirmed fit though unless the vehicle originally had a 7-Way connector from the factory. Even if the wiring is there it doesn't necessarily mean that it is active and functional. The accepted method for adding a 7-Way to a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that didn't come with one is to first install...

On your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee check behind the driver's side kick panel (to the left of your left foot) or up under the dash. There may be a loose light blue wire that is the brake output wire from a controller to the trailer. It connects to the brake controller blue wire. If the blue wire is not present, then you will need to run a wire from the brake controller back to the 7-Way manually and attach it to the back of the 7-Way in the 7 o'clock position. This will negate the need to locate that blue wire which I am not sure even runs all the way to the rear of the vehicle. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
