I'm not sure which hitch receiver you're asking about but there are three that fit your 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We have a Curt Class III, part # 13051, the Draw-Tite, part # 75139 for a Class III or the etrailer # e92AR which is also a class III. The crossmember is visible on all of them. I've linked videos of these hitches being installed for you to take a look at.
If you're going to be towing a trailer with your WJ you also need trailer wiring. If you have the factory tow package you can install both a 4-way and a 7-way trailer connector using part # 20135. It plugs in to a connector under your bumper. If you don't have the tow package you can easiliy install a 4-way using part # C55369. It plugs in behind a trim panel on the driver's side in the rear cargo area.
To complete your towing setup, you may be able to use our ball mount kit, part # C45534. You need to determine the rise or drop you need to tow your trailer level. I've linked an article to help you with this so you can choose the correct ball mount you need.
