No need to cut or splice wires when adding trailer lights. This Curt T-Connector plugs directly into the vehicle’s existing tail light wiring to create a 4-flat trailer connector. The factory-style plugs make it simple and clean—just connect both sides, and you’re ready to tow.
The 4-flat connector gives you the standard lighting functions needed for towing—running, brake, and turn signals. It provides a solid, consistent link between the vehicle and trailer lights so everything works in sync when you hit the brakes or turn.

Received it the second day after I ordered it. Went on my 1996 Grand Marquis this morning. Every thing went well--tried to duplicate your helpful video. Did the installation myself with the car's rear end up about 2'. Used 2 milk crates on either side of hitch center so I could get hitch in place to mark my bolt holes on the frame. Expect it to work well for pulling a 4'x8' bed trailer

UPON RECEIPT OF THE PACKAGE I IMMEDIATELY CALLED CRYSTAL AND INFORMED HER OF THE SITUATION. SHE INFORMED ME THAT SHE WOULD SEND THE CORRECT PACKAGE IMMEDIATELY. I investigated this product.
I took a gamble and ordered it, unfortunately the plug ins were different. So I went ahead and and cut the plugs off and hard wired into the vehicle harness. Not a big deal, was just hoping for a plug and play.
nobody get a perfect score, always something to improve on. I am very HAPPY with each purchase from etrailer. Each new vehicle or past 10 yrs have had e-trailer hitches & wiring. Everything worked perfectly, delivery was on time as usual. Thank you again for an easy install on the Mustang.
Everything went great except for one thing....connectors are wrong ..no plug and play.

I have confirmed with my contacts at Curt and this wiring harness is confirmed as a fit for your Grand Marquis. The connectors from this wiring harness are located in the rear of the trunk behind the taillights. You may need to remove some of the interior lining of the trunk to be able to get to the connectors. There is a helpful image on page 2 of the instructions provided by Curt.

Ground wire was looped , connected to itself and sealed with a protective
rubber heat shrink.
There was no instructions related to this connection.
This ground wire pig-tail should be explained.

According to Curt, the # C55326 trailer wiring harness does not feature a separate ground wire that needs to connect to the vehicle chassis because the vehicles tail light wiring harness already grounds to the vehicle. An additional connection wasnt necessary.
Works great! Meets/exceeds expectations. I really like how the receiver end comes with a cap to keep dirt and water from getting in and the long cord allows for convenient connection even with long tongue trailers. When not in use I tuck it into the trunk and truck lid closes fine without damaging cord, I have bought from them before I will definitely buy from them again, as a matter of fact I just purchased another similar connector for my Mazda truck. Thanks etrailer!
ford 2003 Mustang MACH1 instilation 20 minutes start to finish, even checking the lights working properly. Sequential turn signals ans all.
