According to the owner's manual for a 2001 Ford Mustang you can tow a trailer up to 1,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 100 pounds tongue weight.
For a trailer hitch I recommend # C11041 which will fit as long as your Mustang is a V6. We do not have a hitch if it is a V8. For a ball mount, you can use # 3592.
For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # C55326. I have included links to videos showing installations of the hitch and wiring.
