Features to know about

Stay Level and in Control: Up to 1,000 lbs of Front-End Support

When extra weight makes the front end sag, these SumoSprings helper springs step in with up to 1,000 lbs of support at 50-percent compression. They help your suspension carry the load so steering and braking stay steady, and your headlights stay properly aimed. The progressive urethane design cushions bumps and absorbs shocks to keep your ride smooth and level even under heavy front-end loads.

Smooth Ride Over Rough Roads: Progressive Microcellular Urethane Design

Road vibration and sharp bumps can make a loaded vehicle feel harsh and unsettled. These microcellular urethane springs compress easily at first for light loads, then firm up as weight increases—up to 80-percent compression for serious support. The result is soft engagement over small bumps and confident control when things get heavier, all without the jarring stiffness of solid rubber stops.

Comparison image showing SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs installed on a vehicle, with one spring uncompressed and the other compressed under load to illustrate suspension performance difference.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When a curve or crosswind tries to push you around, each spring works on its own to keep its side planted. This independent action helps reduce body roll on turns and keeps the vehicle more stable when loads are off-center or when a passing truck creates a gust. You’ll feel more control through corners and less rocking on uneven ground.

Built for Long-Term Performance: Durable, Maintenance-Free Construction

These springs are built from closed-cell urethane that resists oil, salt, and UV damage while performing from -25°F to 200°F. They compress vertically with minimal side expansion so nearby parts stay safe even in tight spaces. With no air lines or pressure to manage, they’re completely maintenance-free once installed—just dependable suspension support every time you hit the road.

Simple Installation That Fits Right

Installation is straightforward with a no-drill design that bolts into place using existing mounts. Two jounce-style springs are included so you can upgrade both sides of the front axle quickly using basic tools. Once fitted, your front suspension gets an instant boost in stability without any ongoing adjustment or upkeep.

The springs are great and keep the rocking and lean in the turns under control. This is my second set. The first set of sumo springs degraded after 7 years.

by:

Rear was tough for this old guy to install but it's done and a definite improvement in sway and ride.

by:

Very easy to install if you have hydraulic leveling on your MB motorhome. Takes the side to side wallow out!

by:

I have a 2021 Thor Fourwinds 31B excellent improvement on handling and ride

by:

Super easy install. I used my auto-leveling to lift front wheels to make room - you will need to take weight off of the axle to make room to install. Smoothed out the ride and body roll. Installed front and back Sumo's on my 2020 Jayco Redhawk 29 in about an hour.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, Eric. The install advice is super valuable and I think other readers will appreciate your insight!

by:

I will be honest with you. I originally ordered the springs through Amazon. They came to me as the yellow rear spring which I did not order or want. That’s why I came back to you and ordered the SSG-106-47 front springs from you. I will stay with etrailer from now on.

by:

This was a very easy install. It took less than an hour. I installed them on a 2018 Forest River Forester which is on an E450 chassis. My rig is equipped with Firestone airbags in the back so I only needed the Sumos in the front.

I’m looking forward seeing how they improve the handling of my RV. I haven’t ventured out on the road.

Great product. Really helps with front end sway. My Class C RV handles well. Sumo Springs have really paid off.

by:

Installed as advertised and offered substantial stabilization for my Class C RV. Along with the rear SumoSprings the constant side to side sway was eliminated.

by:

Love the product fairly easy to install. Took just about two hours for all four Sumosprings. The front was a bit more challenging and I’ve seen somewhere else about using a plastic bag that you can cut up and inserted in the 13 mm deep socket, this will keep the nut in place while threading.

Your videos are very helpful and strongly suggest that you create a how too for the front replacement

@Greg Glad to hear you're still liking the Front Sumo Springs on your motorhome! Where have you been traveling to lately?

by:

I installed these to stop the typical Ford Twin I-beam suspension squat and bottoming out with the heavy passenger weight in my 2006 E350XLT 14 Passenger Van.
The ride is predictably firm without weight. With a full van, tracking and handling is exceptionally stable and sure footed.
The squat and bottoming out are eliminated!
Installation was very easy and quick.

Unfortunately, time revealed wear on the insides of the tires. Vehicle was aligned prior to the installation. Though the squat improved substantially, it wasnt enough. Ive since installed Firestone Air Springs, and this solved the issue, and provides a softer and more comfortable ride.

by:

Perfect fit, easy installation.

by:

Definitely recommended suspension upgrade for c class Rv .
Works better combined with aftermarket front sway bar. Less side to side motion with going over bumps or curves

by:

I installed front and rear on our 2025 Thor Quantum KW29. Very easy install for the front, rear's were a bit more work but nothing too difficult. My wife primarily drives the RV, it is "hers" :). She immediately noticed the difference in ride quality, less side-to-side rock/roll and was very pleased. Therefore, I am pleased. I look forward to a couple thousand mile trip shortly - that will make/ brake the four stars vs. five.

by:

In combination with the rear sumosprings and helwig sway bars, the jayhawk is has even less lean when cornering. Need to wait until spring to see if it lessens expansion joint bumps.

Dont think I would buy them again. Went from Florida to Pennsylvania via i-95 and I never had such a rough ride. It was so rough a lens came off a ceiling light and I lost hubcap. Im debating upgrading the shocks to Bilstein and possibly removing the sumo springs.

by:

Ordering was easy and shipping was quick. Installation was Super easy, took longer to lift Motorhome and set Jack stands then to install The SumoSprings.
Ride was much smoother and body roll was much improved.

by:

Very easy to install. I have not put very many miles on Rv but have noticed that there is much less swaying when going over uneven driveways. After installing these and and safe t plus steering it drives a lot better.

by:

Sumo Springs really helped with the bumps in the front of the 2019 Ford E350 Winnebago! Very happy with them. Super easy install even though a bit awkward to reach the spot.

by:

Springs arrived on time without any damage. Installation was completed in about a half hour with a 10mm socket, 3” extension and ratchet to remove the stock bump block on our Ford E450. Then just thread the Sumo Spring in place of the removed block. This was the easiest upgrade I’ve done so far.

by:

Super easy to install maybe 30 minutes for all 4
Fronts were done from above with wheel turned full right or left and load off that side with jack, rears jack to take off load only used large flat head screw drive to remove replace
improved side to side roll/sway ride is firmer went with the black capacity maybe yellow on rear if loads increase

30 Minutes for all 4?! That's got to be some kind of record, Dennis! Glad the process was nice and easy and I hope they serve you well. Let us know if you do end up needing to go to the heavier duty yellow option as well, we always like to get real life experiences from people. : ) Any more trips planned for the year?

by:

What most new RV owners don't know is that the chassis that their new mobile home sits on barely has the equipment to support that new home. Adding SumpSprings is going to improve your ride and help support the structure of your home. FYI, use a jack on the leaf springs to help align the holes on the bracket to the ones on the frame.

by:

I’ve made several purchases from eTrailer and have been satisfied every time! Recently bought front and rear Sumo helper springs. Installation was a breeze. They have helped reduce the side to side sway caused by wind, freeway traffic and rough roads. So far im very happy with them.

by:

Installed front Sumosprings yesterday but have not driven vehicle yet. The front have full contact with the A-frames.
Should help with van side-to-side sway.
Shopping around for a set to install on the rear as well.

by:

Ordering and delivery was quick and easy. The SumoSprings really improved the ride of our C Class RV. The only problem was one of the springs had cross threaded threads so I had to tap the treads to make it work. They were delivered in a plain brown box with no manufacture information or instructions. It makes believe the were a returned item, the previous purchaser couldn't get them to work either. I just had the tools and skill to correct the problem.

by:

I recently purchased/installed SumoSprings for the front axle on my 2018 Thor Freedom Elite 28FE. Having previously purchased/installed SumoSprings for the rear axle I have to say that the overall improvement in ride/handling has exceeded my expectations. As always, etrailer provided valuable insights and prompt inquiries to my questions. The level of in-depth product knowledge amongst the etrailer staff is second to none. Thanks etrailer!

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out! You are correct that you'll want to install the rear Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE78RR first on your '22 Entegra Odyssey 26D, and then if you still need more help you can install the front Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE26GR. You'll see a bigger difference with the rear bar replacement than you will with the front which is why we recommend changing out the rear first. Hi Todd, I know exactly the feeling you’re describing, and you’re definitely not alone. Hello Mark, Based on what you described with the driveway angle and the additional weight you plan to carry on the hitch, I would recommend going with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-130-54. The main difference between the two kits you mentioned is the density of the spring. The # SSR-130-54 is the higher-capacity version at 2,800 pounds compared to the # SSR-130-47 at 1,500 pounds, so it provides more support when the suspension compresses. In your case that...
