Question:

Im considering putting a camper on my truck that is near the factory recommended limit of the load capacity would the SuperSpring be a appropriate solution?

The SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer # SSA5MTKT is a correct fit for your 2004 Silverado 1500 if it is the LD version. If it is the HD version then instead you will use their similar kit # SSA10MTKT.

The SuperSprings helper leaf springs are an ideal solution for your slide-in camper application and will perform better than rubber jounce springs. These install without drilling, require no maintenance once installed - unlike airbags - and they offer you choices in how you install them (an adjustable bracket) that will vary the amount of support they lend to your truck's stock leaf spring suspension. They also provide a degree of sway reduction that will be helpful for your camper application since that will tend to increase both reactance to windy conditions and other vehicles, and also raise the vehicle's center of gravity.

I have linked at right a video showing installation in a comparable truck; the written instructions are linked also.

Do please note that no suspension enhancement kit can increase the vehicle's weight carrying capacity so you will want to be sure that your camper when fully loaded for the road will remain within the vehicle's load rating.
