Features to know about

Keep Your Truck Level and Confident Under Load: 3,000-lb Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the rear of your truck sag and your steering feel light. The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit (RAS3611-CHD) adds up to 3,000 lbs of load-leveling support by turning your leaf springs into a mechanically active suspension system. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to your load, keeping your ride level whether you’re towing a trailer or hauling a full bed. You get better balance, traction, and braking control without changing how your truck handles when unloaded.

Cut Out Axle Wrap and Wheel Hop: Active Spring Stability

Axle wrap and wheel hop can shake your truck and make it hard to keep traction when accelerating or braking under weight. The RAS system stabilizes the leaf springs so they stay bowed and absorb load forces instead of twisting. That stops wheel hop before it starts, eliminates bottoming out, and reduces the strain on your shocks, shackles, and tires. It’s a clean mechanical solution that reacts instantly without air lines or hydraulic delay.

Smooth Out Sway and Body Roll: Built-In Cornering Control

When you hit curves or deal with crosswinds while towing, sway and body roll can make the ride stressful. The RAS reinforcement keeps the rear suspension tight and balanced so the truck feels planted in turns. By cutting down on side-to-side motion, it helps prevent sway from a trailer shifting behind you or body roll when cornering with a tall load. The result is steadier handling and more confidence at highway speed or on mountain roads.

Simple Bolt-On Setup: Fully Assembled, No Air Lines or Adjustments

Installing load support shouldn’t require drilling or constant tuning. The RAS kit comes fully assembled and bolts right onto the factory U-bolts and leaf spring eye with included hardware—no drilling, cutting, or welding required. Once it’s tensioned during installation, it doesn’t need air pressure checks or ongoing adjustments. You can even fine-tune the coil tension during setup between 25% with the 1mm spacer and 40% with the 2mm spacer to match your typical load range.

Built to Last Through Real Work: Epoxy E-Coated Steel Construction

Hauling in tough weather means you need hardware that won’t rust out after one season. Each RAS unit is made of high-grade alloy steel with an epoxy e-coat on the coil springs for extreme corrosion resistance. The end brackets are corrosion-resistant with a salt spray rating of more than 800 hours, so they stay solid through mud, salt, and road grime while continuing to give firm support year after year.

Install went smooth, did this myself. Gave my F150 the extra support to be able to tow my half ton rated fifth wheel with the truck sitting level. The unloaded ride is still just like it was prior to install. I used the thin white spacer to set the spring tension.

Works great at leveling my truck with my travel trailer.

I have heard nothing but good things about these enhancement springs so I bought a set. Very easy to install if you have any mechanical ability at all. Haven't used my truck to pull out 5th wheel RV yet but I will in a couple of days. I have a 2500HD it seems to have soften the ride a little. It doesn't make sense but prior to instillation it rode rough like it should, but the springs seem to help. IDK

Finally decided to try the RAS system for the truck since I bought a bigger camper. Ordered it hoping it would get here in time for an install before our new camping trip. Arrived in plenty of time! Opened it up and went through the instructions and got to the install. So, advice…read instructions from start to finish before starting! LOL. I thought they sent the wrong parts and then I read the instructions completely and then said, oh yea, forgot that part. Ha ha. Anyway, there's always a better way to do things based on your situation and vehicle. So after a few different attempts, finally got my groove and install went just fine. As always…take your time, double check everything before tightening down! Anyway, completed the install and then took it for a quick drive. Real happy with it! Felt substantially like it can handle more weight. Will be trying it with the camper next week. Again, thanks to the etrailer peeps for getting it to me on time. Since Murphy's Law resides in my garage, I wanted plenty of time to do the install right…and they delivered! Literally. Thanks again and will look forward to the next order.

Installed this today on my 2023 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 with the tow package. The kit arrived within 2 days of ordering. The box was slightly open but the springs appeared undamaged. I elected to do the install myself and opted to get a 4 ton floor jack to replace my very old 3 ton. I’m very glad I did. After blocking the front tires and setting the parking brake, I loosened the wheels and raised the rear at the differential using a small 2x4 block to span the contact points. I took the wheels off and originally set my jack stands in front of the leaf spring on the frame. Lowering the truck onto the stands was not effective. There wasn’t enough travel to provide relief to the springs. I ended up setting my jack stands on some 1x16 scrap pieces and put them under the spring attachment point. This gave me just enough room on my floor jack to unburden the springs. Once I got over this small hurdle the install went smoothly. This took about an hour to very carefully construct as I didn’t want to drop my brand new truck on the ground. Brand new 5 ton jack stands would have eased my mind considerably. My install includes a spacer for the bump stop to offset it towards the centerline of the vehicle. The instructions weren’t intuitive and it took a few minutes to figure out the bolts. You need to insert the provided bolt into the spacer and attach the spacer to the frame with the original bump stop bolt. It’s the only one you can get a socket on in the depression. The bump stop then attaches to the provided bolt you inserted into the spacer using the provided nut. You will need a deep well 15mm socket for this attachment. Fortunately I had one. I set the spring using the 25% white spacer, reinstalled the wheels and set the truck back on the deck. The truck now sits 3/4” higher in the rear. I drove around and noticed that I was sitting a little higher as the site picture changed a bit. The truck didn’t seem to ride differently empty. If anything it seemed a little more cushioned though no less responsive. I towed my 9000lb travel trailer previously with a Ram 2500 6.7l diesel that had Sumo springs and a WD hitch. I got tired of the cost and maintenance and selected this Ford because it could haul the trailer. I chose the RAS over the Sumo springs because of how much squat I observed when I hooked up the trailer initially. I will update after I tow the trailer. My only concern at the moment is that the bump stop spacer isn’t going to provide enough clearance from the bracket.

by:

Installation was pretty easy. I am not a mechanic and it was straight forward. I would say that the pictures included in the installation instructions are not detailed and don't show a good close up. Including a video QR code would be way better.
Otherwise, the vehicle sits a bit higher and the back end seems more solid.

by:

I was a little concerned when they arrived as there was no instillation directions in the supplied literature. There was Ford, Dodge etc but nothing related to a 2023 Silverado 1500. I forged ahead using the universal instructions that were supplied. All turned out well. The instillation went much easier that expected. This is the second time in a month that I have ordered from etrailer.com. EXCELLENT fast service with lots of follow up on tracking etc. THAKS to all etrailer employees.

by:

Received the package very quickly.
Installation
is easy for the DIYer.
Have already used the Road Active Suspension on my F150. Stabilized the body roll of the truck while towing My travel trailer. Coupled with weight distribution and sway control system the conventional tow travel trailer was as stable as a 5th wheel tow. Haven’t had a chance to tow yet with my F250 but expect the same results. Like others have said it does not change the ride of the empty F250.

by:

This is my second F150 with an RAS installed. With RAS, my 2023 F150 2.7 Supercrew (with HD payload package, rated to tow 10,100#) tows my 6000# Airstream completely level with no squat and no issue when paired with a WD hitch. And yes, I've done the same tow without RAS and would prefer not to do it again. Absolutely an improvement over stock with minimal impact to daily driving. It does raise the rear about 1-2" but nothing the average person notices and I forget about it all the time. I'd like a leveling kit to help raise the front/reduce the rake a bit but then it wouldn't tow level anymore so that's the compromise. The RAS does exactly what it claims to do, at a fair price, and maintenance free (no airing up or down etc.) The only improvement that would be better would be trading up to a 2500 or 3500 but that's not the daily driver experience I want for the 80% of the time I'm not towing. I did buy again when I traded in my 2017 and would buy yet again if I got another half-ton.

Purchased for a 2018 F150 to assist with towing a 6000lb RV travel trailer. The heavy duty model is too heavy duty. With the pre-loading as light as possible, the unloaded ride is stiff. Would recommend the standard model. With the travel trailer (using an Equalizer brand weight distribution hitch), the ride and stability was much improved over just the factory leaf springs. The rear of the truck was raised over an inch. Installation was straight forward. A little bit of guessing as to the pre-tensioning and if they are matched left and right. Would love it if the design could be changed such that it was easy to "snap on" when needed and "snap off" when unloaded. Maybe some sort of lever system would make this possible. Overall, they did what they are designed to do - assist the truck in being more stable when under load and less squat. I ended up trading the Ford for a Toyota which has coil springs so I passed on the RAS to the new owner of the Ford.

by:

I bought these after a 1000+ mile trip towing my trailer (~8000# loaded) with my 2013 F-150 (HD Payload & Max Towing Package). Installation was super easy. I did not need to take the tires off. There was plenty of room to get behind the tires and place and adjust the springs. Once installed they definitely give the truck a rake. I didn't measure pre-installation because I didn't expect the lift to be so great. I used the black disc to adjust the springs.
It's not too extreme but you can definitely see a difference compared to stock.
As you can see in the pictures, with the springs the drop with a trailer attached is greatly reduced and the truck sits level. Towing was great. I used a WDH before and being able to with springs only and a sway bar is pretty nice. Drop with trailer attached is only about 2.5 inches (see pics)

These provide a noticable improvement in ride and handling both empty and loaded. I would add them to another truck without hesitating.

by:

They did raise my truck 3/4”. Set my fifth wheel on it 15K and 2750 hitch weight it dropped 2” so not bad still had a little on my overload spring so it should ride pretty nice. 2017 GMC 2500

If it seems like the suspension isnt engaging when it should, you should take a look at page four of the instructions where they outline how to adjust it until it fits properly. Also, if you would like to get something that is more robust, you may like to try part # F2613. You will want to make sure you take note of the vehicles this part fits to be sure it will work for your truck.

by:

Instillation was not difficult, it took about an hour and a half to install and adjust so far this seems to be exactly what I was looking for but I haven’t had a chance to put my camper on the truck to see how it reacts.

by:

love the the ride without camper easy to install cant wait to put the 3163 lbs camper back on need tires first

Product performs as it claimed. These are an excellent product.

  • Can RoadActive and Timbren Suspension Kits be Used for a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 In-Bed Camper
Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out! The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-CHD can be used with the Timbren Kit # TGMRTT35D, but one will make the other kind of pointless to use. The RoadActive will work well for standard cargo loads, but the Timbren kit is better for really heavy loads like your in-bed camper. The Timbren kit will likely be a bit overbearing for the RoadActive kit, so I'd go with the Timbrens if you plan on toting the camper around fairly...

Hey Bryan! You can use the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit with your 2025 Sierra 2500 Denali Ultimate. However, I believe the max trailering package comes with the top overload springs. I would verify this just to be sure. Assuming that is correct, you need the # RAS3611-CHD. Hey Christopher, the best suspension enhancement kits we have for your 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 are the Roadactive kits as they give you everything you could want from suspension modification without any drawback. You get easily adjustable support to prevent sagging, an easy maintenance free install, but you also get better ride quality and handling loaded AND unloaded which is basically unheard of so it is what I recommend for you. Hey Joe, we have just what you are looking for with the Roadactive Suspension Kit part # RAS3611-CHD. This will give you the additional suspension support you are looking for without hurting your unloaded ride quality. This will actually improve ride quality loaded and unloaded as well as improve handling for both as well. The install is easier and there's no air pressure to monitor like air bags so it's really the best all around. How often are you out with your Grand Design?

Hey Steve, I have a great solution for you but air bag kits are actually a lot harsher than you'd think and would not improve your unloaded ride quality at all. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-211-54 would be a great option if you leave the camper in the bed all the time.
