Why Would 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Have Suspension Sag When Using WDH

Published 05/11/2025

Question:

I have a new 2025 Silverado 2500hd. It has the z71 and snow plow package. It sits level, no rake. When I hookup to my 7500 lb travel trailer it squats 2 in. My wdh is properly adjusted. I tried both 600 lb and 1000lb spring bars. Theres no difference. Front end of the truck bounces. What are my options to get rid of the 2 in. Squat while towing?

Hey Stephen, that is interesting you are having that much squad when using your WDH system. You would want to be using the 1,000 lb spring bars unless for some reason your tongue weight is more than 1,000 lb which would require even higher rated bars.

If the WDH system isn't working that usually means you are using a system that isn't rated high enough or you don't have it setup properly with enough spring bar tension.

But if you wanted additional suspension support the way to go is the Roadactive Suspension System part # RAS3611-CHD as this will give you the support you are looking for while also improving ride quality loaded/unloaded as well as handling and stability.
