Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 3,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

When a heavy trailer or bed load drags your rear end down, it throws off braking, steering, and stability. The Firestone Sport-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 3,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and rear suspension to keep your vehicle level and steady. Leveling the ride helps maintain even tire contact for better control, safer braking, and properly aimed headlights when towing or hauling heavy cargo.

Fine-Tune Ride Height and Stability: Adjustable Air Pressure from 10 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different, and these air springs adjust to match. With manual inflation valves for each side, you can dial in air pressure anywhere between 10 psi and 100 psi to even out off-center loads or keep your setup firm when the bed is full. A balanced setup cuts down on body roll, absorbs road shock, and prevents bottoming out so your truck feels more planted on the highway or jobsite.

Built Tough for Long-Term Support: Reinforced Rubber with Metal End Plates

Firestone’s tapered-sleeve design uses four layers of reinforced rubber and corrosion-resistant metal end plates sealed with a rolled crimp for strength you can count on. The rubber springs cushion suspension movement and soften contact between the axle and frame to prevent permanent leaf spring sag or harsh bumps under load. It’s real support built for years of towing, hauling, and rough roads.

Straightforward DIY Setup: Complete Kit Ready to Install

The Sport-Rite kit includes custom brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation. The brackets mount between the frame and axle as part of your existing rear suspension system—drilling may be required for some setups. Once installed, you can route the inflation valves to an easy-reach spot on the bumper for quick manual adjustments whenever your load changes.

Just installed this morning and it was pretty straight forward. Just take a few measurements to make sure everything is where it should be and its that simple. Hooked up trailer and aired the bags up and it looks like the trailer weighs 200 lbs. The trailer is about 900 lbs tounge weight and it barely moves the truck! Alot better than other things ive seen

by:

The shocks were easy to install, after I watched a you tube video. I hope they perform well

by:

Hardware package had been opened luckily it was complete just scattered all over the box. paint peeling off of lower brackets in the box. Installation took approximately 6 hours. Instructions are somewhat ambiguous. Shipping was not exactly what I would call fast. Overall I'm slightly disappointed. This is not what I've come to expect from etrailer.

Love it. Install was easy, works great

by:

Easy to install. Noticed improvement in handling both under load and normal driving. Came complete with good instructions.
Happy with product for my 1998 F-150. New life for an old truck

by:

It is exactly what I needed for my truck. This was shipped in the time that it was supposed to be and will allow me to tow my 18ft trailer with better control. Thanks to etrailer and their great customer service.

by:

This is the 3rd vehicle that I have put these helper springs on. They make a huge difference in how your vehicle handles a load. eTrailers always ships fast. Very happy with this purchase. Thank you eTrailer.

by:

I installed these today. My truck is a little older and the stock rear springs are a little tired. I needed something that would help me support the tongue weight of my 2 horse bumper pull trailer a bit better. I ordered these and they showed up just a few days later. Finally had a chance to install them today. It took me about 1.5 hours and the only snag I had was when I snapped a drill bit. I aired up to 30 pounds and took it for a drive. Tomorrow I'll put the trailer on it and air it up some more but they have been great so far.

by:

Exactly what I needed to pull my camper. Good instructions . I lovethe online video. Took about 4 hrs to install. Thanks

Still working well. Very happy with this product.

One of the bags had a hole in it and the other never held air. After I purchased, I wasn't able to install for several months, so my warranty was gone before I realized I had a problem. I would NOT purchase these again.

When you reached out about the warranty who did you speak with? This kit comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the air bags and two year on the hardware [against defect versus normal wear]. I can send over the warranty details if you are interested.

by:

Product is fairly easy to install although time consuming. But that was due to some unforseen issues with my bump stop hardware being very rusty on my Silverado. I did get a chance to tow my travel trailer and wow what a difference. I put 40 lbs of air in the bags, less than half of what they are rated for and it held my 25 ft travel trailer perfectly level while maintaining a very nice ride in the truck. I would definetly buy them again. I also like the quick shipping. A great product that is well worth the money

Thank You

by:

Installs quickly. Etrailer staff was very fast in providing additional information for my specific install. Looking forward to the first haul.

These are a beast on my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab. First trip was 3500 mile trip from CA to VA and down to NC. Performed flawlessly with a 10,000lb load in 20 ft trailer, which I took northern route through WY and UT. Took time to ensure air lines were mounted properly but havent had an issue with bleeding since installation was complete. I have used numerous times since trip to haul 1.5 to 2 tons of 57 gravel rock each time. No suspension issues with smooth ride. Product performed above my expectations.

by:

I had been using the Timbren SES which was great handling the tongue weight of my trailer but didn't leave much suspension travel unloaded. It was quite jarring traveling over dips in the road when the 1" of travel got used up and the Timbrens kicked in. It is so much smoother driving over the same road since I installed the Sport-Rites. Unloaded I keep them at the minimum 10 PSI and my truck rides like stock. Installation was straight forward especially after watching the etrailer video but it still took me an afternoon.

by:

One year later the sport-rite kit has been a true game changer in towing. Installation was really straight forward took about 1.5 hours in the garage to everything installed. Prior to installing the kit I had a lot of "floating" when towing my jeep behind the truck. Post installation I run the bags at about 40-45lbs of air and I don't even feel the. trailer/jeep when towing. For anyone looking to firm up your tow rig I would highly recommend this kit. For the price you can't beat the value.

by:

This is a replacement system for another Firestone airbag. The original came out of position and rubbed a hole through the boot. So far the changes seem to be great. No product is great after the first iteration. This one seems to be finely tuned. It is just great to have the sway controlled with airbags.

by:

Purchased these air helper springs to give my F150 a little backbone when pulling a trailer. They installed easily and I have used them once and they did a great job. The difficulty that I encountered was the instruction sheets for installation were missing half the pages and as fate would have it I was sent the GM pages with the Ford kit. Some of the hardware was missing and the stand off bracket was drilled the mirror image of what it needed to be. So I had to download the pdf file for instructions, needed to know the critical X distance, and made a trip to my drill press where I modified the bracket, rounded up some hardware (washers) and proceeded to mount the air springs. Looks good (have to take into account the brackets are universal, so they are a little sloppy fitting) and works good. I'm quite familiar with air suspensions used on big rigs so it really was a walk in the park.

by:

Works great!
A little intimidating to
drill into the truck frame but once committed the job goes fast.

This review is for the firestone air springs kit # 2320. It was installed on a 2003 Ford F-150 supercrew 4x4. I ordered this back in January but it has been too cold to install. The shipping was quick and everything was packed well with no issues. Now that the weather has warmed up a little I went ahead and installed the springs on the truck. First thing is the same issue another person had, the instructions were for a GMC/Chevy only. Ford has brake and fuel lines in the way and this caused an issue when I just tried a trial run on the mounting. I contacted etrailer when the link was broken to the instructions and went to Firestone for the entire set. There is a mounting bracket in the kit for repositioning the brake line mount on the frame so the air springs can be attached and once I had the instruction to see how it mounted I went ahead and installed them. Just some advice, if you have an older truck in an area were rust is a problem the driverside bag requires repositioning the brake line for the rear brakes away from the frame rail by an inch. There are fuel lines in there along with the brakes so I also had to bend the brake lines a little to get around the rubber and metal fuel lines so they don’t vibrate together and wear a hole. If you have a truck with a lot of rust you could really have issues trying to do this and really make a mess. The installation took about 3 hours and 2 ½ was on the driverside. The passenger side does not have anything inside the frame rail so it was only 30 minutes there. I have used them on both my carhauler and my camper now just to set air pressure so the truck sits properly and they worked fine. The one thing I see is that they drop 5 to 10 psi after I disconnect the air source. I checked with soap and do not have any leaks and they do not continue to drop only when I disconnect. I did not see anybody else report this but now I just adjust them a little high at first and they drop to where I want them and stay there.

by:

I have had this same product on my 1999 F150 4X4 for 14 years. It was installed when I bought my Lance lite 815 Camper to shift some of the weight onto the forward axles. I just put on replacement bags due to dry rot and the fact that I've gotten 3 life times out of one set of bags. My father drives truck and its policy there at the truck company to replace the bags every 5 to 7 years.
Long story short "Firestone Makes a Awesome quality Product".
I recommend it, stand by it, and won't use any other Brand.

PERFECT! No complaints!

by:

Overall, a well designed kit. The instruction package is reasonably clear to those with mechanical aptitude. There is a typo that reads "reward" where it should say "rearward", but there are no real proofreaders anymore, just spellcheck. As a driveway project, plan on taking a full day to complete the basic installation. If you are opting for the onboard compressor add on kit (F2610), plan on two days to get all of the components properly installed and tested. Now for the real test, take the loaded trailer for a trip!

One complaint that has been noted by others is poor connectivity between app and controller. I have discovered that by starting the app before entering and starting the truck, I get a connection reliably. As to performance, I have made several trips with the system installed. I am still learning how to best adjust it according to load for best travel. I just wish my mileage did not tank while towing, but that is another story.

by:

Easy install only had to make one modification for the brake line bracket, had to drill a hole in the bracket to match my brake line other then that it was easy and works great. I do wish it came with a tee so you can air up both air helper springs at once.

by:

Excellent product! I put these on my 03’ f150 to help with the suspension while pulling my 34’ camper. I also use a weight distribution hitch and the combination of the two allows the half ton pick up to pull it down the road with ease. These air springs help not only with the ride comfort but also in leveling the camper with the truck.

by:

I purchased a firestone F2320 kit with the air command I kit. When I did so they asked for completed pictures of the install. I have some low resolution shots here, should you want higher resolution or any other images, please let me know and i will send over whatever you need. Unloaded… the kit gave me 3" more height at 80psi.

The product has been great. I never realized how bad the handling was prior to adding the bags. My vehicle was suffering from suspension fatigue prior to installation... now, the vehicle, dare I say, rides better than stock.

by:

I bought this same kit 13 years ago, firestone warrantied a bag that blew out, but i opted to buy the whole kit. Easier install. I used them to their full potential over the years, no regrets

Air bags and jounce style suspension enhancement is designed for vehicles at the factory ride height.
