Features to know about

Keep the Rear End Level and Steady: Up to 1,000 lbs of Load-Leveling Support

Heavy loads can make the back of a vehicle sag and throw off handling, braking, and headlight aim. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs add up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support right inside the rear coil springs. By helping the stock suspension carry the weight, these molded polyurethane air springs keep the ride level, reduce strain on tires and suspension parts, and improve overall stability under load.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 35 psi

Every load is different, and this setup lets you fine-tune support for each one. You can inflate the springs anywhere between 5 psi and 35 psi to match the weight you’re hauling or towing. Keep them at the 5 psi minimum when unloaded for normal ride quality, or add pressure for heavier loads to minimize squat and body roll. With dual air lines, each spring can even be adjusted separately to level uneven side-to-side loads.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Absorbs Sway and Road Shock

These air springs do more than just hold up weight. They help absorb road shock and cut down on sway so your vehicle feels more planted on rough pavement or long highway runs. That means less bouncing and porpoising when towing and fewer jolts reaching the cab when carrying bed or cargo loads.

DIY-Friendly Setup: Simple Bolt-On Installation

Installing this kit doesn’t require cutting, drilling, or welding. The Air Lift 1000 system fits inside existing rear coil springs using standard tools. It comes with two air springs, two heat shields, tubing, Schrader valves, and hardware. Manual inflation valves can be mounted where you want for easy access, and you can add a compressor system later if you want on-the-fly adjustments without an external air source.

Air lift 1000 installed in my 2016 Toyota sequoia. Installation went smooth and was easy to install. I have the bags set to 15psi now for daily driving. Will monitor it for a a couple weeks and see if there is any leaks.

Installation took 2 hours including air tubes arrangement and testing. I give for Easy installation 5 stars. Will review again after real use.

This system works very well on my 2019 Toyota Sequoia SR5. It has been over a year now with trips to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier NPs and had no issues - tt stays inflated with very little pressure lost over days, helps to keep the car leveled but certainly you have to use it in combination with weight distribution hitch. I pull 2019 Keystone Passport 219BH SL Series (~4,800 lbs dry weight)

Installation on Sequoia is easy (good installation access).

Knock on wood - the airlift on my Sequoia works just fine.

Install was easy, airbags should help when towing or using a hitch hauler.

2019 Kia Sorento
Word of advice: It was WAY easier to just remove the coil springs and install the bags that way. (2016-2020 Kia Sorento)

Lift the rear end, remove wheel, disconnect the lower control arm, shock, and sway bar link. Take out the coil spring and insert the bag from the top. Reassemble in reverse order and torque bolts to spec. Much easier.

From that point it was just a matter of routing the air lines through the control arms, up through the subframe, over the spare tire, to the trailer hitch mount. Bags seem to hold air well and are holding up so far. Definitely made an improvement in handling around corners.

Note: There is a noticeable squeaking/noise from the rear end going over bumps at low speeds. Once you're on the pavement or up to speed it improves.

Loses one star for the noise and install. Otherwise not a bad product for the price, especially if you're the DIY type. I personally work on cars, so maybe it was a little easier for me.

Put these on my 2020 Equinox, it has a tow package and pulls my little Wildwood trailer just fine but with this airliift system it feels SOOOO much more stable!! It drives much less ‘mushy’ and handling is a dream. These are simple to install, perfect product for pulling with a light duty SUV, I am extremely impressed.

Hummer H2
I purchased this product for some additional support for our Hummer H2 when we are towing our travel trailer. I removed the springs for easier installation of each bag.
I am 66 years old and total time from start to completion was 3 1/2 hours from set up to clean up !

@GwendolynY We are towing a 16’ travel trailer and the bags add just a little extra support for bumps so I won’t get sag or excessive rear end bounce.

I have towed my RV several times over the last year and these helper springs work perfectly! I had a very small air leak but I added some silicone at the airline connections and it is 100 percent! I carry a battery powered air compressor with me and it’s basically a “set it and forget it” systems.

Works great on my 2000 Lexus LX470. I installed these to supplement my AHC deleted suspension. These were installed with Land Cruiser rear springs. Instructions were easy to follow. Routed separate air lines (did not use the y connector) above the frame and fitted the valves into existing holes on the bumper. Run them at 8-10 psi when I have gear in cargo area. Holds air perfectly.

Glad they are working well for you, Scott! I gotta ask, did you do the AHC delete as it was worn our or did you just not particularly like it? I've heard people do this for either reason.

@LazerS The AHC system was great when working optimally but mine was wearing out. The globes were starting to fail, both rear hydraulic shocks were weeping, and the ride was getting firm over small road imperfections. I decided to do the AHC delete for cost effectiveness, reliability, and possible future suspension upgrades.

2021 Jeep Wrangler
These air springs are one of the best investments you can make if you have a 4XE Wrangler. The battery pack is so heavy, I am finding after a couple of years the factory springs are getting too spongy and the body lean is more noticeable on the road especially cornering. Plus when you go over larger bumps the body sway is much more noticeable. I looked into an air spring set up but did not really want to spend several thousand dollars and I was surprised when I came across this set for under $[XX]. I was sceptical but thought, why not. They arrived in a small box and I was even more doubtful but when I opened it and took out the kit, I was impressed with the quality of the materials. I followed the instructions (with a few exceptions) and found them to be very easy to install. If you take your time with routing the air lines over the factory heat shields and carefully bring them to the rear drivers side, you can install them using the t connector. You can drill a hole through the thin part of the bumper right beside the license plate. There is just enough air line included to do this. The Schrader valve seats perfectly and makes it very convenient to add or bleed air from the system with only one adjustment. I set the springs at 12 psi and coupled with my after market adjustable shocks, I can make my Wrangler so smooth it feels more like a European SUV than a Jeep. Excellent product.

The air springs are still operating as well as the day I installed them. They do not leak any air pressure nor have they degraded in any way. What a great and simple solution that lasts.

  • 2017 Toyota Sequoia Sits Low With Trailer Connected
As of right now (May 2017) the only confirmed Air Helper Springs for your 2017 Toyota Sequoia are the Air Lift # AL60826 and # AL60786. There are no options from Timbren as of yet. Before investing in a suspension system what I recommend doing is making sure that your trailer is loaded appropriately. The Tongue Weight (TW) of your trailer should be 10-15 percent of the total weight of the trailer itself. If your trailer were to weight, say 5,000 lbs, then your TW should be between 500-750...

  • Are Daystar Cradles Needed and Are They Compatible With Air Lift Coil Helper Springs
According to the folks at AirLift, their air helper spring systems are compatible with Daystar Cradles, but using them will void the product warranty of the air helper springs. Some folks at Firestone have told us the same about their Ride-Rite systems, but we have also been told that because Firestone haven't tested them, they don't recommend them. From what I understand, the cradles are for allowing additional suspension travel, but we don't carry them and I don't have any personal...
