Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: Up to 5,000 lbs of Rear Suspension Support

Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the rear of your truck sag, throwing off braking and steering. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 system adds up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support to keep your rig level and stable. By sharing the weight across all four wheels, it helps maintain safe headlight aim, reduces tire wear, and improves braking response when hauling or towing serious weight.

Dial In the Perfect Ride: Adjustable from 5 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different, and this system makes it easy to match your suspension to the job. Each air bag can be inflated independently between 5 psi and 100 psi for side-to-side and front-to-rear leveling. Light load? Drop the pressure for a smoother ride. Heavy load or uneven cargo? Add air until you’re level and stable. Manual inflation valves and air lines are included, with ports that mount conveniently on the bumper for quick access.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Reinforced Rubber and Roll Plate Protection

Road shock and sway can wear you out fast when you’re towing or hauling. These air bags use 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber that absorbs bumps and vibrations so your ride feels more controlled. Air Lift’s exclusive upper and lower roll plates protect each spring from damage while boosting their load capacity for long-term reliability over miles of rough pavement or gravel roads.

Count on Strength That Doesn’t Rust Out: Zytel Endcaps and Heavy-Duty Hardware

Where other air springs use steel that can corrode, Air Lift builds these with high-strength Zytel nylon endcaps that are lighter, stronger, and corrosion resistant. That means no rust problems at the ends—just consistent pressure retention over time. Each kit comes complete with mounting brackets, hardware, air lines, and manual valves for installation using basic tools. And with a lifetime warranty plus a 60-day satisfaction guarantee, they’re built for the long haul.

I just completed the install of this Airlifter 5000 series air bag kit. First, the kit, without a doubt, is a high quality kit with many of it's components designed specifically for specific vehicle application. I installed it under the rear of our new-to-us 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Laramie 4x4 Ecodiesel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice and robust powder coating of the metal mounting plates. That means protection for them for a long, long time. The hardware/fastners were/are of decent quality also. And, while the "springs" used for the temporary carriage bolt retention in part of the install are a good idea, I have maybe a better way of doing that. In my opinion, for whatever that's worth, here's a suggestion.
Since there are TWO of those carriage bolts that have to be installed AT ONE TIME, you now have to deal with those two long tailed springs, carriage bolts that continue to fall backwards into the abyss of the frame, all the while trying to maneuver the frame mount plate into position. Then, trying to retain tension on the tails of those springs that retain the carriage bolts, and align the bolt tips to enter the mount plate, and then, if and or when you get the mount plate into position and both bolt tips are protruding through it, you now have to hold ALL of that in place, while you remove at least one spring so that you can now grab a nut (a feat unto itself) and fit it onto the tip of one bolt, all the while trying to hold tension on that bolt so it won't fall backwards into the frame and start threading it.
Then, once it's threads are started, you can no concentrate on the same operation for the second bolt. What a serious pain in the petute!

But instead of the springs and tails to be used to retain the bolts while prepping to install the mount plate, you use whatever their called, a very, very thin retainer clip or washer or "push clip" (I really don't know the name of them) that are used to retain the drums onto hubs on an axle, ALL THOSE PROBLEMS would be over.

You'd simply use the springs as before to load and pull the bolts through their respective holes as before. Now, with the one bolt in place, reach through the center hole in the frame that's between the two bolt holes and using a finger, push on the head of that installed bolt. Your finger will now hold the bolt in place. Now, with that bolt held in place, you can remove the spring. Then, PUSH the very thing spring clip right over the threads of the bolt and it will "ratchet" down the threads until it bottoms out against the frame. You have now LOCKED that bolt in place and you can let got of it with your finger and that bolt isn't going anywhere!!!!!!!!

Now, do the same for the second bolt. Now, both bolts are held firm in place WITHOUT the long and cumbersome tails of the springs. You can now grab the mount plate and push it up into place and over both exposed sets of threads at the same time WITHOUT FEAR of pushing the bolts back into the frame. You can now hold that mount plate in place while you grab one nut at a time and thread it all the way on. Then do the same for the other nut.

To me, this would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than the method you (and I, and any installer, be it a shop or a home install) are presently using. If I had a link to what kind of clip I'm talking about, I'd link it.

But, those clips are seriously thin yet are quite capable of retaining those bolts and will not hinder the mate-up of the mount plate to the frame sides. Sure seems worth a looking into to me. Just a suggestion.

These were a great addition to my truck. I moved from Washington to Michigan 1 year ago. Heavily loaded trailer and truck. No sag, no issues. Full disclosure I had to get some custom U bolts made because of my setup, but I have had zero issues. Great buy.

I plumbed my airlines through the license plate which turned out to be very handy.

by:

I didn’t do the install myself. However my mechanic talked me into these after adding a rack and rooftop tent to my ‘14 Tacoma. Absolutely Fantastic. I have a 3” suspension lift and the truck handles as near to stock as I can remember. Awesome product. Easy install (according to mechanic). Thanks all. Oh yes, one issue because I added a leaf spring when I lifted it. He had to find new shackles to allow for fit. FYI

by:

Install on a 2026 F350 SRW. Love the product and have zero issues with that itself. The reason for the 4 star is the clearance with the factory sway bar and brake lines. It does mention that in the instructions, however it's extremely tight and I'll definitely be checked for rubbing in the future to make sure I don't have clearance issues. Otherwise, they work great paired with the Airlift WirelessAIR compressory system, zero complaints on the usability of the product.

by:

Took my time and followed included instructions exactly. Went together well! Haven’t towed with them yet, but definitely raised the back of my Tacoma with 26 lbs of air pressure that I tested for leaks with! Feel like they’ll be a big improvement when towing our 4200 lbs. camper!

by:

Very easy step by step instructions, how to install. It took me about two hours in my driveway. I got it because I haul a 35' travel trailer. Makes the ride a whole lot smoother

by:

a very good choice. The F150 did not have enough stock suspension for my 24 foot trailer with a GVER 10,000lb. Now we all know the truck will pull that weight but when you hooked up it squatted. After installing the air lift it does not squat any more and the truck with a 5.0 has enough power to pull the weight. I had Monroe air shocks on it before but they would not do the job. I am very happy with the setup. I replaced the Monroe air shocks with Rancho shock's and the ride is amazing with or with out the trailer. This was a great investment for the long haul.

by:

Watched the install video twice before the shipment got here and had no problems installing it. Also installed the WirelessOne from Airlift at the same time. Picked up some 1/4" clamps to make the air lines look a little cleaner, and hold them in place during our snowy and icy winters. Including the WirelessOne system, it took about 8 hours from the time I washed the underside of the truck until I rolled it back out from the garage. Pulled the camper this morning and all my old issues have disappeared. Truck is level, trailer pulls great, and the cooling system is back to working as needed. Highly recommend this suspension kit!

by:

Im very impressed with these airbags. So far they are doing the job.
These come with all hardware and instructions. I put 20 psi with no load to see how long the air would hold up. 2 weeks later im now at 15 psi which I'm satisfied.
The previous bags of another brand didnt hold air well even with no leaks.
I can tell the difference in ride quality. I've loaded the bed with landscaping materials and towed my boat with 15 psi and still holding strong. Looking forward to towing my Travel Trailer.
Customer service has also been great!

This is not a review of the product but a review of the site. This is sold for a 2006 dodge ram. So I purchased it 4 months ago. Well I finally opened the product to install and it is for a 2006 dodge ram 1500. I own a 2500. So this product doesnt have the proper brackets to fit my truck. No where in the descriptions does it mention what model dodge ram it is for. It also doesn't display anything on the box to show you have the wrong product until it is opened and you review the install manual. So do your extra homework to make sure you purchase what actually fits

by:

my air lift is missing some parts because my 06 Dodge Ram 3500 doesn’t have a jounce bumper strike plate attached to the axe mine needs something like u bolts and when I purchased the air lift it’s said that it would feet my pick up

Very easy to mount took about 45 minutes. Work great. Just make sure you tell your mechanic not to lift your pickup on a body lift as for my did and popped both of them. The manufacturer covered them under warranty as they had only been installed for 2 months.

@G That's excellent advice, thank you!

I've had this product installed for a year now, and it still hasn't let me down. I was skeptical about how close the bag sat next to the exhaust but haven't had a problem yet. The install was a breeze. If you are in the market and think these might help. Buy them and they will absolutely astound you with what they make your truck capable of towing confidently. I have a 04 single cab short bed ram 1500 that clocks in at the dump at 12k loaded. Thank you guys, these will go on all my work trucks.

by:

After 1 year the product failed. The spot where the air filler hose fed into the bag failed and air could no longer be added. My trailer is probably around 5,000 lbs.
I guess this airbag system isn't built strong enough to handle that weight. I will be looking for something with a higher capacity.

by:

I should have bought these a long time ago! I’m so confident and impressed how well these air bags have improved my truck.

This product won’t work with my 2006 2500 4x4 dodge diesel

  • How Do I Determine What Air Lift Spacers I Need For My Lifted 2004 Ram 1500?
Hello David, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to put air bags on your 2004 Ram 1500, and there are spacers available which make the kits fit lifted trucks. I suggest going with an Air Lift brand kit, part # AL57230 for 4WD trucks or part # AL57257 for 2WD models. If you are unsure of how much lift you have or what spacer you need, the best way to determine this is to install the upper and lower brackets, measure the distance between them and subtract the height of the air bag....

Hey John, the Air Lift kit part # AL57230 that fits your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 is compatible with in-bed hitches but not mega cab models. The part # AL57295 is a fit for the mega cab models and fits with in-bed hitches. The part # AL88295 fits mega cab models, is in-bed hitch compatible BUT it comes with an internal jounce bumper for additional support. The part # F2299 is not compatible with in-bed hitches but is a really great option. We've found that the Firestone bags are of the highest...

  • Recommended Air Bags for a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Cab and Chassis
No, it will not Dave but I have a set that does! Since your 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 is the cab and chassis model you'll need the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2478. These air bags have a 5,000 lbs capacity that will level out the rear end of your Ram when you are towing a trailer or hauling a heavy load. All mounting brackets and hardware are included for installation. I recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow...

  • How Heavy of a 5th Wheel Trailer Can a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Tow
The 5th wheel towing capacity will be the same as the bumper pull towing capacity for a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. It was not until the last 5 years or so that they gave them a different towing capacity for 5th wheel trailers. Therefore, if the dealer told you that your towing capacity is 12,000 lbs then that will be the heaviest 5th wheel trailer you can tow. However, I would be skeptical that the truck has a 12,000 lb towing capacity as the most well equipped 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 I was able...

  • Can I Use Air Lift Springs on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 With 2-Inch Lift?
It depends on how much lift your block actually provides. On its own, the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57230 can handle about an inch of lift. If the lift is more than that, you would need the 2" spacer # AL52420. To make sure, you can do some measuring on your truck. I attached a diagram below to guide you as you measure. You will need to measure the total distance between the mounting surfaces, and subtract that by 5-1/2", which is the air spring design height (A) for these air bags.

Both AirLift and Firestone offer air helper spring options for your 2002 Ram 1500 4x4, but the right kit for you will depend on how you use your truck. Firestone uses a superior design on their air bags, utilizing a roll crimp to join the upper and lower plates to the air bag.
