Whether you’re loading up a kayak for the river or strapping down a cargo box for a road trip, these aluminum crossbars give you a solid base to haul it all. With a 165-lb weight capacity (limited by your vehicle’s roof load rating), the setup is sturdy enough for heavy gear like canoes, tents, or camping supplies. The two 53" long bars provide generous space for mounting carriers side by side, so you can bring more on every outing.
Long drives are smoother when the rack doesn’t howl in the wind. The Thule WingBar Evo crossbars have an aero-style shape that helps cut down on drag and noise at highway speeds. The split rubber strips in the top channels fill the gaps around accessory mounts to minimize whistling and vibration while you drive. You’ll notice a calmer ride and less need to crank up the music just to drown out roof noise.
Mounting accessories can be tedious when you need to cut rubber strips to fit mounts. These bars skip that step entirely. The top channels use split rubber strips that simply open around your accessory mount and then close back up to keep things sealed from wind and water. It’s a simple design that makes loading up faster and protects the bars from wear over time.
No matter what your next adventure looks like, these bars adapt easily. They work with most bike racks, watersport carriers, snow gear mounts, and cargo boxes that attach using either channel mounts or clamp-on hardware. That means you can use the accessories you already have—or mix and match options from different brands—without needing special adapters.
You can upgrade security anytime by adding Thule’s One-Key System locks (sold separately). The locks secure both the rack and any channel-mounted accessories so your gear stays safe when parked overnight or at a trailhead. It’s an easy way to protect your investment without changing how the rack works day to day.

Not nearly as happy as I was! I love the rack style, and it works OK, but the rubber strips on top are a bad design. Once I had one of the strips fly off while driving, and the wind noise was horrible after that. Luckily, I made a note of where I was, and went back and found the strip on a freeway. This time I GLUED it in, because even though it was properly seated the first time, it came off. Then, the same thing happened on the rear rack! This time I caught it before it blew off. The front one had been driven over by a car or two, so I was going to replace it rather than reuse it - until I found the price of this simple piece of blow away rubber - it was outlandish I think it was $80 for a set - ridiculous at even half that price!. So I ended up gluing them in AND I put an eye bolt on both ends - since it seems to come loose at an end and work its way across. The idea is good, but the captive track is not adequate, and Id rather just take them off - but the wind noise is unbearable, so Im just going to make due.

Review of Entire set: After a year of using this, it still works very well. Easy to take on and off your car and make slight adjustments if needed. Only maintaining is really just cleaning it which is simple enough. No issues with lockingunlocking with the keys. It has definitely helped saved space for my tiny Honda Civic.

Hi Michael, thanks for the review! For future reference, you might consider trying a wind fairing to help cut down on noise. These will not get rid of all sound, but they are designed to cut down on noise quite a bit. I hope this helps!

My purchase from etrailer.com was world class. And their service was superb. They are a 5-star organization. They are knowledgeable folks with experience in what they sell. They will quickly get you out of what would otherwise be a nasty, complex situation and make it look easy. You can trust this company. Put them to work for you. Note, I do not own stock in this company but wish I did.

I can see that you got the 52 inch Thule square bars. The square bars are known to whistle compared to the aerodynamic cross bars. I recommend the Thule AirScreen XT part # TH22WV to divert the wind up and over the cross bars to eliminate some of the wind noise.

It’s been a year since I purchased and installed these. They’re still holding up and look great. I added a roof rack on top of it using the slots and t-bolts. Definitely worth every penny! You will not be disappointed! ????
