Review of the RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks on a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country

Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town and Country we're doing a test fit of the Rocky Mount Brass Knuckle Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number R-K-Y-1-2-0-2. We have a bike on our rack and we have our rack hooked to our vehicle. I'd like to show you a few features. The first feature set is brass knuckles, so I wanted to show you that first. Here we go . We're going to show you how to engage and disengage that. We're going to come back to the back to work.

We have our strap on our back wheel, sitting in our wheel carrier. We're going to remove this first. All righty . Set that out of the way. Do the same up front ...

Get that off of there. Push that out. Now . To show you how to engage and disengage this, you all just want to hold onto your bike, grab it like it's a brass knuckle to engage it .. To disengage it there's a blue button here, you want to press down, pull up and bring out. Like I said, to engage it, you grab it like it's brass knuckles and you just want it down right there in front of your brake, either the brake caliber or in front of your forks.

We're going to go ahead and disengage this then we can take our bike off. All righty . I'm going to set this off to the side, then I'm going to come back and I'm going to replace all the straps so we don't lose our straps. Put the one in the back first, and while I'm back here just to let you know that this actually move along the frame so if you have a bigger bike or a smaller bike, it will fit that way. Now the universal holder here, we have 2 allen screws up top with a plate with our .. What's that A nice little cover plate here ...

It's going to pretty much fit around all your crossbars. Today we're using our factory, so let's go ahead and replace this. The strap does the same thing in the front as it does in the back. It moves along our frame here. This wheel cradle here just pretty much just holds the front wheel in. All right . Now we're going to open up our top here and show you how we have our straps underneath our crossbar. Now there's an allen screw here that we loosen and tighten it and if I can show you here, the straps we're using, there's a metal strap with a rubber coating on it so it protects our crossbars and our vehicle, but it fits into a little slot, each on both sides. It fits into the little slot, you tighten it up with the allen screw up top or you can loosen it up to take it off, also. Let's go ahead and bring all this down, put back our top, and you see it has an opening for a key so if you needed to put a lock on there you can find it on our website at etrailer.com. So . That's going to complete our look at the Rocky Mount Brass Knuckle Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number again is R-K-Y-1-2-0-2, on today's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country.
