Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the door latch for your Everchill, 12 volt RV fridge. This is going to mount between your RV fridge's freezer door and refrigerator door so that when you're traveling, you're not going to have to worry about those doors swinging open and all your food falling out, or there being a leak so that the cold air is coming out and not keeping your food cold. This will turn to the side when you're wanting to use those doors and allow them to open up. But when you want to travel, you can swing that forward and those doors will not have room to open up.Now, there is a three and three eighths inch distance between our mounting bracket and our rubber stopper here.
And that seems like a lot when we don't have the refrigerator door to compare it to. But once we have this mounted, the door is going to stick out probably to about here. So it's really not going to have much room to open up, and then we can turn it to the side so that our door will still function. This is a metal bracket with rubber cushions here on the upright portions. You will need to purchase some hardware to get this installed.
You'll screw the bracket into your fridge. Those screws are not included, but these holes are a one, sorry, three 16th inch diameter. The bracket itself is two and five eights of an inch long by seven, eight, seven inch wide. Our mounting holes are one in five, eight inch from center to center horizontally.Overall height is going to be right about four inches. It's just a little bit under that.
About three and 15 16th of an inch tall. And our total distant from our mounting point is going to be three and seven eighths of an inch. As you can see, this is black. So it's going to blend in well with the fridge. You're not going to really notice it when it's pulled off to the side and it's going to do a good job of holding our refrigerator doors closed while we're traveling, so we're not going to have to worry about our food, getting warm or anything like that.
That's going to complete our look at the door latch for our Everchill, 12 volt RV fridge..
Decided to swap in a residential fridge after my wonderful (note sarcasm) Furrion 12v fridge bit the dust (only 3 years old). This door latch integrated perfectly into the residential fridge I used to replace the Furrion. I had to do some research to make sure this was a good fit for me beforehand, so this my not work for everyone, but it sure worked out perfect for me.
We bought this after two camping trips with some of the contents of our fridge thrown out on the floor because our camper fridge did not come with this type of door latch. We watched a YouTube video on how to install it on our Furrion fridge and it has worked perfectly on every camping trip we’ve taken this year!
The product is a great design and seems to be well built. Unfortunately, this design doesn’t “marry” well with the Furion 8 cubic foot fridge/ freezer we have in our Jayco trailer which has the worst latching design for a fridge EVER of the 5 RVs we’ve owned.
We did modify it by cutting off one screw hole. We could not use the existing screw placement that was on the fridge so we had to drill a new hole to screw the plate to. This device may or may not work. I’ll update this review in August when we take a trip with the trailer.

It work and looks good. Only one hole lined up. I ended up drilling another hole for it. Very happy with the product and shipping was fast.

This product still working great 1 year later. So glad I found this.
Etrailer is the best!! Their customer service is incredible and they carry all those strange things (like this unique to rving) fridge door lock.

Fabulously
Device did keep refrigerator door from opening up during travel. Screw heads prevent tight closure of doors. I had to remove device and return to taping doors shut. Expensive part for what you really get.
Easy to install. Design simplicity makes it a winner. Easy to order.

Easy as pie?
Was told this could be installed at the top or bottom of my refrigerator to hold the doors closed when traveling. I suppose it can be installed with some serious modification to the latch and it will be permanently in the way of the top freezer door. I should have sent it back before I hacked up the latch, lesson learned.
Not sure how long the friction part of the hinge is going to last it was very difficult to move I had to spray some WD-40 on it to get it to move without bending it

Works as expected. Use it every time I go camping. Fridge door stays closed. Would purchase again.

This item worked like a charm on our Furrion RV fridge!
Great little accessory you need to have. It took less than 3 minutes to install. I needed a self piercing screw for my second hole, as the distance between the the two holes was not the same in my case. I also needed to shift the latch mor to the side of the fridge as the shaft was not able to go in front if using the pre-drilled holes of the fridge (see pictures).
The fridge I am using the latch with is a house RCA 7,5 cubic feet. It's going in a cargo trailer conversion into a camper.

After a year, I have no complain. There is not much tension applied to this accessory and it is well constructed. Should last forever.
works great . but I used it on a Magic Chef 10.1 electric frig I replaced on my class c RV. Only one hole matches up so I used the one hole and double-sided tape behind it. It's not going anywhere.
Perfect to keep our RV refrigerator & Freezer doors shut
Swapped out my old Atwater RV Refer for a Hot Point 10.5 CF apt style. This was the closest catch I could find. Turns out the screw holes are too wide and there is not enough room on the latch to drill a new one. Turns out it works fine with just one screw. I may use some doubled sided tape if it loosens. No more food on the floor!!
This is a great tool, however I was unable to use it with my refrigerator.
Great to keep your Fridge shut during t ravel
I used it to keep the doors closed on a 10.1 cu ft magic chef in my rv. Works great. Easy to install. And looks professional.

Purchased to keep my refrigerator closed while traveling. We have a Furrion, but this works perfect on it!!
We put a residential mini-fridge in our RV. We needed a latch to keep it closed while traveling. Every latch we looked at said "not for mini-fridge." This is perfect! It was very easy to install as the fridge already had 2 holes and screws at the location used. One had to be covered and a new one drilled. The latch didn't come with screws but we used the 2 in the fridge. Perfect for this need!
