It seems these slam latches are by far superior than the originals on our Solitude. eTrailer was able to key the slam latches to our existing Bauer keys; so nice not having additional keys. We highly recommend getting your locking slam latches from eTrailer. If I can say this, the price is great!!

These locks work very well appear to be quality locks. The install was very simple, they fit perfectly on the front storage doors on each side of the RV. It went in unexpectedly ease as this was my first time changing a lock on the RV.

Wrong lock would not fit my compartment

Exact replacement for the outer handle and latch section of my OEM non locking latch which had the handle snap off in cold weather. Note that this does not include the interior galvanized plate piece for the inside of the hatch door. Also, It includes only the one key, which is fine as I won’t be locking it as it replaces a non locking latch… This item cost over $[XX] less than my dealer wanted for basically the same rebranded non-locking Bauer Product-20 latch…

Latch is working solidly, no issues. Finally clued into the fact you can order replacement additional keys from trailer, Mr. Bozos and others so not so uptight about locking the hatch and losing the key - it’s probably best to lock both sides of the hatch anyway so anyone trying to break in doesn’t rip wank the unlocked side of the hatch and damage it. Also realized that I can swap this unlike keyed latch with one on a lesser used hatch to make unlocking faster and easier.

Lock works well but since it's tapered near the bottom there's a gap that needs to be sealed. I used it to replace the standard Lippert lock, which is square. A little silicone spread over the gap works fine.

Was told I needed a new lock since I lost the key. Upon receiving the lock it turned out that the new key that came with the new lock actually worked on my old lock. So this Bauer lock is the #357 key in case you only need a key.

I received this order and it's not what I expected. Only the front part of the latch was in the box. The backing plate to attach it was not included. Is that the way it was supposed to be? I needed this installed today to travel tomorrow and now I have a door without latch. Please advise.

Sorry about that, Juan. This is typically used as a replacement for a broken latch and does not include the backing plate or hardware due to that. We don't do a great job of calling that out on the page and I am working on having that updated. I think what you are looking for is something more like the following parts: Bauer Black Sandwich-Style Door Latch - Fits 1/2" to 1-1/2" Thick RV Doors # BA75HR Global Link Locking Baggage Lock Actuator Set with Mounting Plate - Qty 1 # GL34FR Did you want to get the one you received returned? While the latches arrived all key the same as the entry door per my request and they arrived earlier than expected I cannot give them a 5 star review. All three of the latches have the same problem in that I had to self tap the 4 holes for screws to insert myself. There was no threading inside for screws holes what so ever. I tried to contact Bauer per recommendation from etrailer to never receive a call back. Also went to Bauers website to find no infomation on how they are actually attached or installed.

Hey Ricky! I reached out to Bauer too, and they said there aren't any written instructions to pass along, and they said you would just use the old hardware to install the new latch.

I have only had them a month. They are working great but still no answer on why I had to tread the screw holes

Delivery was on time. However, I received no hardware, nor a back plate for this latch. Reached out to them regarding a return, informing them that there was no hardware nor back plate. The only response I received were questions regarding the condition of my return, and that I need to pay the shipping costs to return. My recommendation, please be sure you look at the product description thoroughly.

The Door Slam Latch is well made but will not work on my 5th wheel. It's not the product. The Bauer door latch is much better constructed than the latch it was replacing. I needed a replacement quickly, contacted etrailer who made every effort to provide information and measurements, I knew there was a chance it wouldn't be a suitable sub, and took a shot anyway. Upside, I was right.

    Hey Anthony, do you have a cam lock currently? Like on the outside all you see is a lock core and on inside there's a little arm that grabs the inside of the door? Or is there a cut out already?
