Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra RV waste valve. This unit is going to add or replace a waste valve gate in your RV's waste system. It's made from a durable and strong black plastic construction. This valve is going to feature the same fittings on each end. It's going to have a 3-inch spigot on each side. It's going to connect between two plumbing pipes.
A few measurements to go over with you real quick. I just want to give you the internal diameter right here. Inside edge to inside edge, that looks to be right on 3 inches. Outside edge to outside edge is 3-1/2. It's going to be the same on this side.
Inside edge to inside edge 3 inches. Outer edge to outer edge 3-1/2 inches. It's also going to feature the easily accessible T-handle that makes opening and closing the gate very quick and easy. The unit's already assembled. It has the appropriate seals internally for leak-proof performance. The other thing I want to do is just go over measurement with it in the closed position and then with the handle fully extended.
Measuring just like this, that looks to be around 9-1/2 inches. Measuring with that handle extended we're looking at a little bit closer to 13 inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra RV waste valve.

I had to replace approximately 24 inches of pipe, elbows, and blade valve. It took me awhile to find out that ABS pipe is measured Inside Diameter, and I didn't want to cut the pipe until I was absolutely sure. Once I was sure, it all went in well. I used a flexible straight connector to put it in place, and that solved many problems. Attached is a photo of my finished assembly. By the way, that "liquid sealant" sold in stores is Worthless!
I purchased 4 gate valves for a home-made pond filter system (the MK-2 from England). They have worked as advertised. I have had to re-apply some additional rubber caulking due to a tiny leak (not due to the gate valve). Otherwise, no complaint. If I've ever the need, I'll probably look to this gate valve again in future.
The valve arrived as promised in excellent condition. The valve was made of heavy duty material and fit perfectly.
