On the rear bumper of my travel trailer it has carried 2 non-electric mountain bikes using a Swagman bike rack for 10,000 highway miles with no issues. I shimmed the receiver channel and drilled and safety wired the slop bolts. So far so good and I don't fore see any future issues as I haven't had to mess with it since installation..

by:

It fit the bumper perfectly but my bike rack wouldn't fit without reworking it.

by:

I ordered and received two of these hitch receivers and installed them on the rear bumper of my camper to carry my 150 cc scooter. Shipping was great and parts mounted without any problem. All hardware was included and fits perfect. Have purchased other items from etrailer previously and look forward to additional items in the future. This company is great to deal with.

Did you end up having any problem with the weight of the scooter breaking the bolts..? I am buying 2 to do something similar...making a carrier for my generator and plan on using 2 hitches...

Bob.r

8/28/2015

No problems at all. Used it several times already and works great. I mounted them at the frame extensions.

by:

I’m using this receiver a little differently than it’s intended purpose. After getting some longer bolts and drilling holes in some aluminum angle stock, I mounted it to the tongue of our trailer. Now I have a place to store the head of our weight distribution hitch when it’s not on the truck. I just slide it into this receiver and it’s up, out of the way instead of taking up room in a storage compartment or sitting on the ground. I have a locking hitch pin I can use for added security. A simple and cheap fix.

by:

I ultimately had to return this item outside of the etrailer.com return window, but UltraFab exchanged the product with no problems. Currently using it on my rear bumper with a license plate frame holder.

by:

Fits great on the 4" bumper on our motorhome. Seems very sturdy and should work great for our 2 bike rack, without interfering with the trailer hitch.
I'd probably give it 5 stars, just haven't gotten to use it yet.

by:

I looked at several options for attaching a bike rack to my camper and this was what I wanted. I looked at several similar items on Another online retailer that had complaints about the receiver falling off because of faulty welds. I am quite certain that this product won’t come apart, in fact, you could probably pick the whole camper up by it. It is built like a tank, and is incredibly easy to install. It was more expensive than the junk on Another online retailer, but I won’t be worrying about my bikes falling off going down the road

by:

Ise this item on my travel trailer to keep my hitch out of the way,off the ground. Love it to store it so I don’t kick it on the ground.

by:

Has held up well on camper to hold bike rack and a carrier.

by:

It works great I put a bike rack on it and it is fine .

by:

I placed my order and had my part within a week. Now we can take our bikes with us wherever we go. Just moved the spare tire over and bolted the reciever right on. Thanks guys.

by:

This product was very easy to install and will be perfect for holding our bike rack. Very heavy duty for the price, excellent quality.

by:

Works great for our bike rack.

by:

Exactly what I ordered and on time. E trailer is where I go to get stuff for my camper.

by:

This was the product I needed to store an accessory from my truck on my fifth wheel camper bumper while not in use. I actually mounted this "vertical" to store my motorcycle carrier "out of the way". I could see mounting this normally to carry light weight accessories while trailering my fifth wheel.

Bruce

8/29/2016

After a year, product is still what I wanted and doing what I needed. Actually moved to a new fifth wheel in December and brought this forward to the new camper. Very handy!

by:

I received this product and immediatley installed on my camper bumper, while installing I found two of the 4 lock nut would not screw on to the "U" bolts provided. I then found two of the same size nuts in my toolbox and completed the install. After inserting the bike carrier one of the "U" bolts broke off, It looks as if the "U" bolts are made of a cheap material.I had to purchase a "U" bolt from the local hardware store to replace the broken one. I don't know if I would recommend this to anyonebecause of the faulty "U" bolt.

Randy

After replacing the cheap U bolts with new ones, so far the product is work well.

by:

I got this product our RV rear bumper to put a bike rack forour two bicycles and I'm very happy with the hitch receiver it is well made and great item that I needed to carry our bike.I highly recommend this hitch receiver.

This product was perfect to attach to my hard shell trailer for our bike rack.
etrailer did a great job from the ordering process to delivery. Thanks for having a great process set-up to buy from you!

Your product has worked out very well, the metal gauge thickness is very strong!

by:

Very happy with the product we purchased for our RV. It fit perfect, and now we can transport our bicycles when we go camping! Now we don't have to take up space inside the RV or the back of the truck!! See attached photos.

by:

They worked great for adding a platform and toolbox onto the back of my travel trailer. I know I couldn't have fabricated and added the hardware for the price!

Rich Z.

Been a year and lots of miles with bumps and potholes but the brackets have remained tight and working like they should. Thanks

by:

Attached easily to the back of my camper and my bike rack slipped right into the receiver. Overall, a good buy that met my needs.

Hi,
I was driving back home after our
vacation and utilizing the bike rack, along with the hitch receiver, and adapter bars. 1/2 way through Nebraska, a Mustang pulled up while i was driving and yelled, "do you have a bike rack?" I said yes, and he yelled it had fallen off!

This was on interstate 80 going 70 mph. I pulled over, and the rack was gone. So we drove to the next exit and back tracked. I was just hoping nobody was hurt. About 7 miles back, we saw the bikes on the side of the road still attached to the rack. We went to the next exit, turned around, came back and gathered the bikes and real with the help of a state trooper. After looking at the rack, i could see it was still attached to the receiver i purchased, but the u bolts had snapped. 4 damaged bikes due to defective u bolts.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2021 Wolfpack 5th Wheel Toy Hauler
I can not speak to voiding a warranty, you will need to refer to your sales paperwork for that. However, the Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for 4" x 4" Bumpers, # UF35-946401, that you refenced is a great way to add a mounting point to the back of an RV. This allows for the addition of accessories such as a bike rack. The # UF35-946401 is made for a 4"x4" bumper and rated for 200 lb. TW. However, I suggest the Curt RV Bumper Hitch Receiver, # E-100 as it is rated for...

  • Recommended Hitch Solution for Carrying Bicycle on Rear of RV with C-Channel Bumper
The Curt # E-3S hitch you mentioned is recommended for use on a truck step bumper, as shown in the provided diagram. A bolt-on hitch like the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946401 would be a better choice. This hitch is designed to fit bumpers that are up to 4-1/2 by 4 inches. The bolt on receiver has a 200 lb capacity, but you'll need to check with the RV manufacturer to determine the capacity of the bumper. You'll need to abide by whichever capacity is lowest. I'd also recommend using a bike rack...

  • Installing Ultra-Fab # UF35-946401 Bumper Mounted Receiver on 2 x 2 Pipe Bumper on RV
When you describe a 'pipe bumper' do you mean that its round, or is constructed of square tube? If it's a round pipe, I wouldn't recommend attaching a receiver to the bumper as any tongue weight (downward force applied to the receiver) would rotate the receiver tube downward. If you're talking square tube, the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946401 wouldn't be your best option as the threaded portion is about 1-3/4 of an inch long. It wouldn't cinch tight enough, plus the spacing between the legs of...

I was able to find many photos of your 2010 Carriage Carri-Lite 5th wheel trailer, but I was not able to confirm the specs for its bumper or frame width. We offer two types of trailer hitch for use on the back of an RV such as your 5th wheel, a bumper-mount type like the Ultra-Fab 2-Inch Motor Home Trailer Hitch # UF35-946401 (see linked video) as well as a frame-mount multi-fit receiver such as # UF35-946403, both rated for use with accessories, not towing. I contacted the Tech Rep at Ultra Fab Products, they stated that it can be mounted underneath but they do recommend it on top. The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver, # UF35-946401 is designed, tested and weight rated for an installation of weight setting above the bumper not below. Any alternate installation of product is determined by the purchaser with that understanding. They added that if you are going to be installing a bike rack on the hitch, be sure to pay very close...

  • Bumper Mounted Hitch Recommendation for a 2017 Starcraft Satellite 17RB Travel Trailer
As long as the 4 inch square bumper on your 2017 Starcraft Satellite 17RB travel trailer is made of steel and welded its entire length then you would need hitch # UF35-946402 because it is the model for 4x4 inch bumpers. I have linked a video of this hitch for you. The combined weight of your carrier and the tote tank isn't very much but you will still want to check the trailer literature to make sure that the bumper is rated for carrying weight and. if so, the amount of weight it can handle.

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Trailer with Tilting Bumper Mounted Spare Tire
For your camping trailer that has a tilting bumper mounted spare tire, I recommend looking at an RV approved hitch-mounted bike rack like the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack # S44FR. This will slide into a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and hold 2 bikes of up to 45 pounds each. When the bikes are unloaded from the carrier, the upright mast can be folded down to allow you to tilt back the spare tire on your trailer for rear storage access. This carrier also includes a hitch and cable...

  • Will the Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver Work for Motorhome Tire Carrier
The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for 4" x 4" Bumpers part # UF35-946401 has a 200 lb weight capacity so as long as the weight of the spare tire carrier and spare wheel/tire do not exceed this you will be good. That said, you also need to take the bumper's weight capacity into consideration and abide by the lowest rated component. There isn't any reason you couldn't use this for a motorhome wheel/tire so long as you be mindful of your capacity.

I can offer you a better option for installing a 1-1/4-inch receiver tube on your antique tractor. Part # E-911 is 6-inches long, part # E-912 is 12-inches long and part # C49524 is 24-inches long. One of these will cost far less than a custom-fit hitch.
