Video Transcript for Draw-Tite RV and Camper Hitch - Frame Mount Hitch - 5350 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Draw-Tite Multi-fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch. The multi-fit motorhome trailer hitch fits most motorhomes and RVs with chassis from 24 inches to 46 inches wide. This hitch has a two-inch by two-inch opening and will accept standard two-inch hitch accessories, so your accessory, or ball mount, slides into the receiver tube. You line up the pinholes and secure it with a hitch pin and clip, hitch lock, or the J-pin stabilization device. All of those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The pinhole for securing an item inside the receiver will accept a standard five-eighth inch diameter pin or hitch lock. Now, the unit is made from a durable steel construction.

It has a really nice black powder-coated finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. It's a simple three-piece construction, so you have your hitch, that's welded onto the main tube. You have a bracket on this side, and you have a bracket on this side, which I did not install, because I want you to see what the bracket is with it off of the actual hitch. It's a nice design. You take it, slides on, and you can adjust it.

Now, this is able to fit frame widths, again, anywhere from 24 inches to 46 inches wide. The bracket simply just slides along the main tube. That way, you can easy place it in a spot that works best for your application.Mounting hardware is included. It's a bolt on installation, no welding required. Receiver opening measures two inches by two inches.

Now, the capacity sticker is located right here. On that sticker is says that the maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 5,000 pounds weight carrying and 6,000 pounds with weight distribution. Maximum tongue weight is 500 pounds weight carrying, 750 pounds with weight distribution. The brackets, right here, edge to edge is 10 inches long, side to side is two inches wide. Mount holes are separated, on center, by eight and five-eighths inches.

From top to bottom measures about five and a half inches. Also, Draw-Tite covers this product with a limited lifetime warranty. Last thing I want to mention, real quick, is just a simple measurement from the center of the tube to the front of the receiver. That gives a measurement of about seven inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Draw-Tite Multi-fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch.

After searching for what seemed like forever, I found this trailer hitch to fit my 1957 Ford. It is completely adjustable to fit my Country Sedan station wagon. I'm sure it will fit most years of old Fords too. It took me about 3 hours to completely install. The quality is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hitch for their old car. Search no more, you have found it..!! 329080

I think this should include not only a product review but also my interaction with etrailer.com. The experience has been the easiest I have had in on-line buying. The product arrived as expect and in undamaged condition. The hitch is high quality product with no "wants' on my part. Every thing needed was included. I would buy another hitch from them but I don't think they make one for a bicycle. 22280

This hitch is just what I needed. Heavily built and adjustable, it can be mounted to the frame of my motor home to give me additional carrying options. etrailer is my preferred vender for this type of product. They have excellent customer service and rapid shipping. 153705

- 5350

Much more solid than I thought. The only problem I had was getting 9/16" holes in the cross bars. Not many shade tree mechanics have a 9/16" drill bit and drill motor to drive it. I think the 4- 9/16 bolts are unnecessary as the whole unit is bolted to the frame with 4- 1/2" bolts. Unit looks nice and sturdy. 68786

The Draw-Tite Multi-Fit Motor Home Trailer Hitch, 47" - 71" wide # 82201 has a maximum tongue weight of 300 lbs. If you have a frame that is shorter then the Draw-Tite # 5350 is a great option with a 500 lb tongue weight. If you are unsure of the width of your trailer frame the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703 is a great option that with either bolt or weld on and is rated for 350 lbs tongue weight. There aren't any front-mounted trailer hitch receivers that are custom designed to fit for a 1985 Dodge B350 and your bumper is not structurally strong enough to work with the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100. What that means is the only option that might work is a universal, adjustable-fit hitch such as the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" wide # 13703 or the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch, 24" - 46" wide # 5350 or 47" - 71" wide # 82201. The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Cast Center # 41945 is a confirmed fit for 2000 - 2003 Ford Van Full Size and may fit your chassis. I recommend checking the dimensions of the frame holes as this hitch's mounting holes are 38-1/2 inches on center. This hitch is rated for 1,500 lb tongue weight and 10,000 lbs towing. This hitch will be dependent on the chassis and will not work if it has been extended. Your alternative if you don't have these holes is the Multi-Fit...

There is a potential option so you can install a trailer hitch on your Monaco Monarch, though there is nothing that is a direct, custom-fit for a 2006 Ford F-53 chassis, so you will need to measure the frame of your chassis to find the right fit. If your frame measures 24" to 46" wide you can use the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch # 5350. If your frame measures 47" to 71" wide you can use the Multi-Fit Motor Home Trailer Hitch # 82201. It has a gross towing rating of 3,500 lbs with a max 300 lbs tongue weight rating. Any of the RV hitches available are going to require drilling with the exception of Curt hitch # 13703 but it, too, is rated for 3,500 pounds. What I recommend is to have a hitch welded on such as # 41990-07 which fits frame widths up to 44 inches or # 41991-07 that fits frame widths up to 62 inches. Frame width is measured outside to outside from one frame rail to the other. The hitches will need to be welded on by a professional welder for a nominal fee. The benefit is you will have...

When looking at frame width for hitches such as # 5350 the compatible frame widths listed are measured from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other. If your frame width is 46 inches inside to inside then this hitch will not work. The next step up in width is the one you would need, # UF35-946403, which fits frame widths of 47 to 77 inches outside to outside. I have a solution for you, but the two hitches you were looking at will not fit your Motorhome. While there is no custom fit hitch for your chassis, we do offer a few universal options. One type of motorhome hitch is the Draw-Tite # 5350, which can accommodate the mounting hole spread of 22 inches. • Trailer Hitch for a 2004 Coachman RV to Tow a 5,000 Pound Trailer
For your RV and the 5,000 pound trailer I recommend using an RV hitch that is rated for weight distribution such as # C13701 or # C13702 and to use a weight distribution system. This is because the hitches max out at 5,000 pounds with the exception of these 2 (when used with weight distribution).
