The Ultra-Fab Motor Home 2-Inch Trailer Hitch, part # UF35-946401, is intended for installation on the rear of motor homes that have an exposed 4-inch bumper. Installation requires that the bumper be fully open in order to allow the U-bolts to attach securely.
This hitch is not suitable for use on your 2008 Chrysler Aspen. The bumper on your vehicle is designed to protect the passengers in the event of an impact. Even if you removed part of the bumper cover to expose the bumper itself, it would not have the dimensions nor the weight-carrying capacity needed to allow use of this hitch.
We do offer 4 trailer hitch receivers for your vehicle. These are all Class III 2-inch types rated for 600-lbs tongue weight and 6000-lbs gross towing weight. All can be seen on the link provided. One of these, the Curt # 13296, installs without drilling. All available hitches require some combination of drilling, temporary lowering of the exhaust and/or some minor trimming of the rear fascia for installation.
Any of these hitches is suitable for use with accessory items such as bike or cargo carriers, thanks to the substantial 600-lb tongue weight capacity. I have included a link to our page for bike racks that will fit this Class III hitch and also one for the cargo carriers suitable for use with it.
If your plans include towing you will also need a wiring harness to connect the lighting functions on your vehicle to those on your trailer. A link is provided that will take you to our page for wiring harnesses for your Aspen; here you can use the drop-down menu to Select Vehicle Style and see appropriate wiring based on the equipment on your Aspen. We also offer a complete cost-effective ball mount kit, part # 989900, which includes two ball mounts with varying rise and drop, two hitch balls, pin and clip, all in a handy carry bag. I have also linked two helpful towing articles that might be useful to you.
