Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (58 Customer Reviews)

by:

The hitch was shipped and USPS lost the hitch in Memphis. After 28 days from the first item was shipped, I finally received my hitch after multiple calls to etrailer and USPS. The hitch is great, the shipping through USPS is not.

by:

Fit like a glove with no vibration. Couldn't be happier.

by:

Looks great, easy installation

by:

Perfect fit. Very solid.

by:

I hate to admit that the hitch has not moved one inch from where it was installed. Of course that may be entirely because the trailer it's mounted on has not either... I have no doubt it will perform perfectly when called upon to tow the the small aluminum row boat that will be attached to it. Thanks for the follow up and we'll be sure to keep you all informed of future adventures. RTC, Micheal/China Syndrome survivor.

by:

Well made, excellent product.

by:

Bought it for a heavier hitch for my 2000 Polaris Ranger 6x6 and it worked excellent. Just one minor adjustment and it fit like a glove. etrailer is the way to go, will be buying more from them for my new to me 2009 Ford E350 ambulance that I will be using as a tow vehicle for my travel trailer.

by:

A quality bit of kit. My only problem is the burly box steel bumper on my 1990 LJ78 Land Cruiser is 2" X 4 1/8", apparently, not 2" X 4". So the nice bolts and nuts included in the package don't quite go through the holes at the top. I had to substitute thinner eye bolts. I'm pulling a very light canoe trailer with this, so I'm not worried about the loss in strength. If you have a real cross frame member for a bumper, as I do this is an inexpensive light towing solution. I would have rated it excellent if the bolt holes were somehow adjustable up and down.

by:

We had an interesting choice to make with our RV. We could either take the cargo carrier or the bikes. We wanted both, of course, and this hitch gave us that option.
We always check with etrailer.com first for any parts they might have to meet our travel needs.

by:

Works great, tow my utility trailer with polaris razor behind my travel trailer

by:

etrailer makes ordering parts very easy - always impressed with customer service I get.

The bumper hitch is sturdy, and fit my 2" x 4" trailer bumper perfectly. it is a well built product and is very stable on the bumper.

by:

Very nice specialty receiver for 2" Reese Hitch. Fits on 4" x 2" bumper stock - dimensions are spot on. Finish on surface and edges is smooth...nothing to catch or "bite" during installation!

Thank you

by:

Just received this product, so haven't really used it yet. But wow, it is really built well. I looked at numerous similar products, and am really happy with my choice. Should give us years of great service. May be overkill for a bike rack on the back of our Takena Trailer, but will most assuredly give us peace of mind on our long road trips.

by:

Wrong product - and no help from etrailer.com in rectifying the situation! I don't think anyone could use this product, and it's not clear enough in the information that it's for a tiny bumper - not a regular RV bumper.

by:

Very good quality but I had to send back as I ordered the wrong bumper size. They were very helpful with making the return easy. I was sent a shipping label.by text and sent it back. Just waiting for my refund. All items I have bought have been of good quality and not high priced. Very Happy.

by:

Very sturdy. We use it to hold a bike rack on our trailer.

by:

Used for a rear hitch on my 5th wheel to tow the jet ski trailer. Very sturdy.

by:

5 Star Service every time. I put my order in yesterday before noon and it was on my doorstep today before noon. I will recommend etrailer to everyone!!! Thanks Again!!!!

by:

The hitch came on time. Etrailer stayed in touch with me. I am sure it will work great for pulling my flat bottom boat. Have to wait for winter to get over with.

by:

Well made, easy installation, fast delivery.
Simple
instructions to follow no drilling required.

Great folks to do business with, can not go wrong using this company.

by:

The bumper hitch was what I was exactly looking for. Easy mount to the bumper.

by:

Arrived in a timely fashion. Even sturdier than I had expected. Fits my trailer bumper well. I am very satisfied with this product.

by:

Easy to install and well built. Bigger than I needed to mount our current bike rack to our Camp Lite 11FK, but works great and it was simple.

by:

video information was a big help, it eliminated guesswork on my application. fit & finish were excellent & my parts arrived on time.
I will buy from etrailer again.

by:

Mounted to my trailer bumper so easily that even I couldn't mess it up. This is rare!

  • Mounting Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch on Puma Ultra Lite Camper
I'm attaching the installation video for the Adjustable Width Hitch # 13703 to this answer, but as you can see at about 5:00 into the video, the side plates of the hitch are going to sit directly on the ledges of your I or C beams of the frame of the trailer. For that reason, you're not going to be able to mount it lower than those plates are going to sit. I don't know if the black water tank will come into play as much as I would worry about the stabilizer jacks being the part that keeps...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Towing for a Coleman Lite 2955RL Trailer Trailer
Yes, you can install a trailer hitch on a Coleman Lite 2955RL Trailer Trailer. In order to do this you have a few options. The first is a bumper mount hitch which bolts onto the bumper, the Curt RV Bumper Hitch part # C19101. This is a good option for bike racks or other hitch mounted accessories but isn't great for towing and would likely require bracing of the factory bumper if used in such manor. Instead, I recommend a frame mounted trailer hitch which is much stronger, the Adjustable...

  • Availability of Bumper-Mount Hitch for 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup
We do offer one bumper-mount 2-inch hitch receiver intended for use on a pickup truck, Curt Specialty Hitch # E-3S. This hitch is intended for installation on trucks with a step bumper. The hitch you referenced, part # C19101, is meant for use on a 2-inch RV bumper and so would not be suitable. If your Ram has a step bumper Curt hitch # E-3S will offer you the capacity you need: 500-lbs tongue weight and 5000-lb towing capacity. If you do not have a step bumper you can review the linked...

  • Does Curt RV Trailer Hitch # C19101 Require Stabilizer Strap
This is a really good question. So at one point Curt did require the stabilizer strap with the hitch # C19101 as well as others but recently they got rid of that requirement so with this hitch you do NOT need to use the stabilizer strap # 18050 with this hitch.

The Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101 you mentioned is designed to fit 2" x 4" RV bumpers, and will unfortunately not fit your 4" x 4" bumper. Instead, you're going to want to use the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 which will fit your 4" x 4" RV bumper.

  • Hitch for 2012 Airstream Bambi for Bike Rack
You can attach a hitch to the frame of your 2012 Airstream Bambi with the Curt multi fit hitch # 13703 which fits all frame styles that are between 22 and 72 inches wide. This would be only option you'd have but also it is a really great option that does the job well. Then for a bike rack you'd need to go with something travel trailer approved since the ride quality is rougher there than at the rear of a vehicle. For that the Kuat Transfer part # KU84FR would be a great option that also...

The difference between the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101 and the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # E-100 is the application. If you have a 4 inch square bumper you would want the # E-100, if you have a 2 inch x 4 inch rectangular bumper you would want the # C19101. If you check out the pictures I attached you can see how the mounting plates are different distances apart.

There isn't a bumper mount option for that 3 x 1.5 inch c-channel. Instead you will need to use a frame mounted hitch like the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2" # C13701. I have a way to help you carry all of your equipment at the same time or individually on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. First, I recommend the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210. This will work as long as your travel trailer is less than that 7500 lb capacity. • Using Curt # C19101 RV Bumper Hitch on 2002 Colemen Pop-Up w/ C-Channel Bumper
According to my Curt Representative, their # C19101 has not been tested on a C-channel bumper. When they tested it on a tube bumper, it was found to have a 3500 towing 350 lb tongue weight capacity. Since it hasn't been tested for the use you are proposing, the weight capacity would be completely unknown, which is why Curt doesn't recommend it. We were able to measure the distance for you from the top mounting holes to the top of the very top of the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101. As you can see by the accompanying diagram, the distance from the bottom of those mounting holes to the top of the hitch measures 1-1/8 inch so you will have enough clearance for the hitch to be installed without any interference. I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101.

  • Can the Curt Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch # C19101 be used Upside Down
You can certainly use the Curt Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch, # C19101, upside down. I spoke with my contact at Curt to see if there were any restrictions or further limitations by using this hitch upside down and he told me that you will have no problem using it that way. The capacities of the hitch will stay the same and you can gain more ground clearance for your cargo carrier (which can be a big deal at the back of RVs and trailers).

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Trailer with Tilting Bumper Mounted Spare Tire
For your camping trailer that has a tilting bumper mounted spare tire, I recommend looking at an RV approved hitch-mounted bike rack like the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack # S44FR. This will slide into a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and hold 2 bikes of up to 45 pounds each. This is not strong enough to allow using a bolt-on hitch like Curt # C19101 so your best option for carrying bikes on the trailer is to use the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275. We generally do not recommend towing a trailer with a trailer. It is illegal in many states, so you will want to check with the DMV in any state you travel through.
