THE HITCH WILL BE ATTACHED TO OUR 550 FORD 4WD EMERGENCY TRUCK ( VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT ) I WILL NEED TO DRILL 2 ADDITIONAL HOLES IN THE STEP BUMPER. I LIKED THE ENDS THAT YOU ATTACH THE SAFETY CHAINS. THE TRUCK WILL PULL OUR TRAILER WITH OUR TERREX ATV
HAVING THE CORRECT HARDWARE IN THE BOX IS GREAT

Solid, quality product. The bolt threads were a bit "short" so I had to buy some big washers to make up the distance and allow the nuts to fully tighten. Also, I looked up the torque specs on those grade 8 bolts to get the proper torque rather than what the instructions said: "Make sure to tighten them really tight". Overall pleased.

The bumper hitch was exactly what I needed. It is perfect for attaching a wheelchair carrier to the step bumper of my Silverado pick-up. After I placed my order I recieved a confirming e-mail of the order. I recieved an e-mail the next day informing me that my order had shipped along with the tracking number. I recieved my order a few days later and installed it on my bumper in barely 5 minutes! I will definitely use E-Trailer for all future trailer hitch needs.

This hitch should fit your 2002 Silverado with a step bumper, and yes you will need to drill for the installation.

by:

Very prompt delivery! Product is just as described. I will try / do the install tomorrow and follow up at that time. I do not expect any issues, but you never know till its complete. This is hopeful is going to lower the hitch height to enable the level towing of a vintage trailer.

Works grate! Did just what I needed.

by:

Product was easy to locate, webset easy to use. Hitch installed easily, Did require slight mount adjustment by drilling. The product description did give adequate forewarning of mounting adjustment. Spacers included were great. Would recommend “ETRAILER”!

All is well

by:

For the price this is well worth it. The staff was very fast to respond to any questions i had. I am only using this for a bike rack and it worked perfectly. If you have to drill all holes in your bumper, make sure you are using a drill with a cord. The batteries will not last. I would def buy another product from this firm. This was a great quality product.

After a brutal winter the product is still holding up great.

by:

Super fast shipping and service. This unit fit my aftermarket step bumper just fine. I only had to drill two holes for the included 1/2 inch bolts. The 3/4 inch bolts lined up perfectly. I wish all things were this simple.

Hitch is great. No signs of rust on the finish or bolts.

by:

The shipping was quicker than I expected. However, the bumper hitch didn't work well with my 1993 Nissan pickup with its step bumper. My bumper is too light and the mounting surface of the E-3S hitch is bowed, so it tended to try to pull my bumper apart in tightening. If you have a heavy bumper plate to bolt the hitch to, it should work great.

by:

Nice heavy hitch, installed easy and worked great.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a light trailer bumper hitch.

by:

I'm building my own trailer hitch for my classic 1955 F350. I like this receiver because it'll provide a large, flat base to weld to the 2x4 heavy steel tube.

by:

Very easy to install, took less than 30 minutes. I wasn't sure of the grade of bolts that were included, so I upgraded to Grade 8 bolts. I'm very pleased with hitch and have already put it to the test.

by:

The finish is great, I was going to weld this to the front of my tractor, but know I am going to weld mountig brackets to the tractor so I can bolt it on and not mess up the powder coating.

by:

The hitch is perfect for hauling anything we toss in the trailer from hay to wood to dwelling clean-outs, it has earned its value.

by:

The hitch is going on a one off build and is exactly what I needed. WELL MADE Only Mother natures delivery of 12" of snow delayed your delivery!

by:

Solid built product. Grade 8 bolts longer than needed. Had to change out for 2 1/2 inch bolts.

by:

Perfect for the application

by:

Like my other orders from etrailer I received exactly what was ordered packaged correctly and on time. Thank you etrailer

  • Will Curt 2 Inch Bumper Hitch Fit a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500
Part E-3S has a 8-3/4 inch, center to center, span between mounting holes. Check your bumper to see if it has two holes that are 8-3/4 inches apart. These are universal fit items so they do not fit specific vehicles.

  • What are the Dimensions of the Mounting Plate on Curt 2 Inch Bumper Trailer Hitch, # E-3S
I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Curt 2 Inch Bumper Hitch, # E-3S, to take some measurements. The center to center distance between the two round holes is 6 inches. They measure 5-7/16 inches apart, inside edge to inside edge. They are 9/16 inches in diameter. The elongated holes are 7-5/16 inches apart, inside edge to inside edge. From the front of the elongated holes to the edge of the flat platform measures 5/8 inches. The elongated holes measure 1-1/4 inches by 13/16 inches....

  • Will Using Ball Mount with a Rise/Drop with Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch E-3S Decrease Hitch Capacity
It sounds like you are talking about using a ball mount that has a rise in the shank of 5 to 6 inches. Using a ball mount in the rise or drop position does not decrease the gross trailer weight of tongue weight capacities of Curt trailer hitch # E-3S. It is likely that the bumper of your vehicle is rated lower than the hitch. Typically, bumpers, if rated for towing, max out at 3,500 pounds. You will need to check the owners manual of the vehicle or the bumper manufacturer if aftermarket...

  • What are the Front to Back and Side to Side Dimensions of Curt Bumper Hitch E-3S
On the Curt bumper hitch # E-3S the face of the receiver is approximately 2 inches out from the nearest part of the flat plate. The hitch pin hold is slightly back from that, the center being about 5/16 of an inch further back than the plate. The overall width is 14 inches. The flat part on top is 11 inches side to side. • Will Curt E-3S Step Bumper Receiver Hitch fit a 2008 Mazda B2300 Pickup
The Curt E-3S bumper hitch is a universal design to fit standard step bumpers. If your B Series has a standard step bumper it should fit. We have several frame mounted hitches that bolt directly to the frame of the truck and are custom fit to the 2008 Mazda B Series. I have added a link to them below.

  • Fit of Curt 2 Inch Bumper Hitch # E-3S on 2014 Tacoma Double Cab
The Curt bumper hitch you referenced, part # E-3S is a multi-fit application that will fit many different vehicles. The hitch is compatible with a standard step bumper, so if your Tacoma has that type of bumper it should work. I have provided a photo showing the bolt hole spacing of the hitch that you can compare to your bumper. The hitch has a 5000 lb towing/500 lb tongue weight capacity that will be limited by the capacity of the truck or the bumper itself if it is lower.

  • Using Spacers to Install CURT Trailer Hitch # E-3S on a Step Bumper
The CURT Step Bumper Trailer Hitch, # E-3S, comes with some square spacers, part 5 in the instructions linked for you, just in case the bumper does have that protrusion on the underside of the bumper. These spacers are 1/4 inches thick. If you are using these and still have 1/8 of a gap, a slightly thicker spacer can be used as long as you make sure to tighten the bolts as specified in the instructions.

If the bumper itself has a hole for a ball then you could just use the bumper to tow. Consult the owners manual for the capacity (usually up to 3,500 pounds on many applications, the owners manual should have the correct information). If you need to add a receiver then a hitch like # E-3S is going to be the best option. Take a look at the picture I have included to see the mounting hole dimensions. You are correct that the Curt 2" Trailer Hitch - Bumper Mount - 8-3/4" Bolt Pattern - 5,000 lbs GTW # E-3S does not include locking nuts, and as long as you torque the included bolts to the torque spec listed in the instructions you will not need to worry about the nuts coming loose.
