I still need to install it but the quality looks perfect. I like that with this style you can mount it off-center if you have a spare tire as well on your back bumper I really appreciate the expedited shipping. I always shop from a trailer if I can.

Paint is holding up perfectly and it’s still easy to use. If you install this on a bumper, it’s really recommended that you weld the bumper to strengthen or get some products to help out. The torque on the frame connection will rip off the bumper eventually if not reinforced

Just installed this unit on my travel trailer bumper and it appears to be fairly heavy duty and secure. Did have some trouble getting it on the bumper but used my truck tire jack for leverage & it popped right on (see photo). The receiver is just what I need for my bike rack & 2 bikes that I will be hauling to Florida next month. Safety first & this unit looks well made & will hold to the challenges of the road.

After a year & 2 trips to Florida is perfect! No need to tighten the bolts due to vibration & wear & tear from a 45 lb bike rack & 40 lbs of bikes. I am extremely pleased with this receiver!

The Curt trailer hitch is solid as can be and couldn't have been any easier to install. Product arrived ahead of schedule and George at the erailer is great with email communications . I will be purchasing future products from this company. Great job George at etrailer. happy camping

Thank you etrailer, I’ve been looking for this bumper receiver for my 38’ Keystone toy hauler for a bike rack. Ordered and four days later it’s here. Installed in 10mins, fits perfectly. I used a flat washer and nylok nuts instead of nuts supplied. Well built and sturdy.

Great product, we used it all summer on our travels without any problems.

by:

This thing is holding up great. I had a different stile before and it broke driving down the road. Causing my cargo rack to fall off carrying my generator and my bb-qer. But this mount has been amazing

by:

Awesome product. I did have one problem with it but it was on my end. The bumper on my Keystone Summerland Series Mini was a little to close to the body so I had to flip the mount over to make the bolts work. Shipping was fast!!!! 4 days including the day I ordered. Would have been 3 but something happened with UPS. I will definitely be buying more products from etrailer Corporation.

Still holding up great a year later. It easily allows me to carry my cargo receiver which has my generator and a couple five gallon gas cans on the back.

by:

Delivered quickly. Haven’t installed it yet and look forward to using this for my Thule Bike rack.

by:

A previous trailer hitch receiver was not adequate for a bike rack with heavy mountain bikes. It developed cracks in the metal. There’s a fair amount of vibration for a bike rack at the back end of a camp trailer. I bought the Curt receiver to mount a 50# Kuat bike rack to carry two +50# e-bikes. So the load is +150# plus the torque of extending almost three feet from the receiver. Worked great. An observer noted the rack and bikes were quite stable.

by:

I have a 21.5' Trail-Lite RV that had a plastic bumper. I wanted to put a Bike Rack on the back of the RV, so I bought some 3/16" 4" x 4" square stock and had a welder weld it on the back of the RV. This is a lot heaver duty than a stock bumper. Once the bumper was installed, I bought this Curt bumper hitch, part E-100, from etrailer.com. Installation was a breeze, and only took a few minutes. I used some grease and a small hydraulic jack to encourage the hitch to slide on. You DO NOT need to drill out the holes as some have reported. A 4 pound sledge will encourage the back hitch hole to pop above the 4" bumper. Use some never seize on the threads so it will come apart some day. Here is the finished product, with my e-bike installed. Shipping was quick and FREE! (I ordered over $100 of stuff)

by:

Torqued to spec. and works as expected. We hang a bike rack off of it on the back of a travel trailer. Solid design.

Reason not a 5: There was a slight alignment issue getting the bolts through both sides due to the stampings not being aligned when welded. Once I got the bolts through, no issue, but there was interference with the threads on the stamping; had to turn the bolts through as they would not slip through.
Still would recommend.

by:

Wow! Service was personal, quick & complete! Will definitely buy from the folks at etrailer again!

by:

Easy to install and has worked great for a bike rack on the back of our travel trailer.

by:

Thanks to etrailer and Michelle for helping me select the Curt E-100 4" bumper mount cargo reciever hitch. The quick delivery helped us get on our fall trip accordingly. Definatly the right product for this application.

by:

Hitch mount was as info described. Needed to mount a heavy 4 bike rack on my RV. Arrived on time and fit perfectly. etrailer videos were very helpful in selecting the right hitch for my weight requirements. You took the time to make them to support the products, you earned my business because of it.

just received today, mounted it on the bumper vertically so as to make a mount for my waste travel tote for my travel trailer, or i can mount horizontally to use my luggage rack.
Shipping was quick.
So far so good.

by:

This one missed the quality control step. Tolerances were too close and missed the mark. Had to remove just a small bit of weld with a to clear the bolt mounting holes.

sorry didn't think about documenting it with a picture.

  • Front Mounted Trailer Hitch Receiver for 1985 Dodge Van
There aren't any front-mounted trailer hitch receivers that are custom designed to fit for a 1985 Dodge B350 and your bumper is not structurally strong enough to work with the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100. What that means is the only option that might work is a universal, adjustable-fit hitch such as the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" wide # 13703 or the Multi-Fit Motorhome Trailer Hitch, 24" - 46" wide # 5350 or 47" - 71" wide # 82201. We offer a range of 2-inch RV trailer hitch receivers including both bumper-mount and frame-mount types. The bumper mount units fit 4-inch square continuous-weld steel channel bumpers and are suitable for use with RV-approved accessories only, but not for towing. They cannot be used on spot-welded or aluminum bumpers. Part # C19101 from Curt is one example. For higher capacity you can choose a frame-mount hitch like # UF35-946403 that fits RV frames from 47- to 77-inches. Other sizes are...

I spoke with my contact at Swagman and was informed that the RV 2 inch Receiver Bumper Mount Adapter, # S64025, cannot be mounted underneath of the bumper because the bolts included with the receiver are not designed to handle the tongue weight required of it in that position. One option we have for mounting a receiver under the bumper of your camper is the RV Bumper 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, # E-100. However, you cannot exceed the limits of your camper bumper. There isn't anything written specifically for the # E-100 that says it can't be used with a hitch extension but I can tell you it's not really a great idea. Since you have a ladder though and a spare I have better bike rack options. We have the RV Around the Spare Bumper Bike Rack part # S80501 that attaches to your bumper and fits around a spare or we have the ladder bike rack # LA-102 which would be a really great option as well.

First I have to tell you that in many states it is illegal to tow one trailer behind another trailer for safety reasons. You will need to check the laws in your state and the states you will be traveling in to see if you can even do this. The best frame mount hitch that fits the description of what you need is Curt hitch # 13703. It is the most versatile because it fits frame widths from 22 inches to 72 inches. It will fit box, C-Channel, and I-Beam frames. And it can be bolted or welded...

Because of this you're going to need to install a different hitch receiver on your trailer, like the Curt # E-100 for a 4" x 4" bumper, and then use a bike rack that is a bit more rugged and can handle that movement. I checked with the manufacturer for you and the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 weighs 12 lbs.
