Review of Curt Specialty Trailer Hitches E-100

Today were going to review part number E-100. This is the Curt RV Bumper 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. This Curt RV bumper mount trailer hitch has a two inch square receiver opening, which is ideal for RV approved hitch accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers. This is intended for use on four inch square channel bumpers on the rear of many RVs and towable campers. It does have a black powder coat finish, which will resist corrosion. It does include the mounting hardware, the two carriage bolts and the two hex flange nuts. This hitch does have a weight capacity of 3,500 pounds gross towing weight capacity and a 350 pound tongue weight capacity.

You will want to check the towing weight capacity of the bumper youll be attaching this to and you never want to exceed the towing weight capacity of the bumper hitch. This hitch also has the elongated holes here on side to attach your safety chains to. I do want to give you a few measurements here. The overall width on this is seven and a half inches. Total from the bottom to the very top is eight inches and the square part to the top is six and a quarter inches.I did mention this will mount on a four inch square channel bumper, so as you can see the width on the inside is four inches.

Just to show you how this would mount, you would insert the carriage bolt through the two holes, use one of the hex flange nuts, square it on and just torque it down and then do the one on the other side. That should do it for review on part number E-100 .

I have a class b rv and the hitch is mounted to the frame of the rv. I would like to know first what platform type two bike hitch you suggest and a regular hitch. Thanks in advance, for your help.

A frame mounted hitch is the best way to go if it is an option on an RV, so you're in good shape there. Not all bike racks are tested and rated for use on the back of an RV or motorhome so you need to make sure you select one that is. We have a whole section of them on our site 2 are a platform type. One is the traditional wheel hoops, part # S64663 the other hangs the bike by the wheels, part # 59508 .
