Question:

Curt RV Bumper 2 inch Trailer Receiver Hitch. How much does it weigh? Is there any way to keep someone from simply in bolting it to steal bikes and rack? Thanks

I checked with the manufacturer for you and the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 weighs 12 lbs.

This hitch fits 4" x 4" square bumpers and while there is technically not a built-in security measure to keep someone from taking the hitch, it does get torqued down tightly to your bumper as you can see in the linked instructions, so it would be quite a bit of work to take it.

Additionally, if you were using a bike rack such as the Yakima LongHaul 4 Bike RV Rack # TH9057 or Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack # S44FR which have a built-in locks to secure the rack to the hitch, it would be even more difficult to remove the entire assembly.

You could also use the 10' Long Cable Lock # e98891 and wrap it around your bike rack and bumper for even more security.
