When you need reliable license plate visibility after dark, this Peterson trailer light gets the job done. It uses two incandescent bulbs behind a clear lens to shine bright and evenly across your plate. The premium bulb design lasts up to 15,000 hours, so you won’t be changing bulbs often. It’s a simple, dependable setup that keeps your trailer compliant and easy to spot at night.
If your trailer ever gets dunked at the ramp or caught in a downpour, this light is built to handle it. The 3-13/16" x 1-3/16" rectangle housing is completely sealed and waterproof, keeping water out of the circuit and lens. That submersible construction protects the inner components from corrosion or shorts, keeping the light shining bright even after repeated exposure to water.
Setting this light up is easy. It mounts right to the surface of your trailer using an optional bracket (154-09K, sold separately) and connects with an industry-standard 2-prong plug (153-49, sold separately). At just 7/8" deep, it sits low and neat against the surface without getting in the way. No special wiring or tools needed—just a clean install that works.
Road debris, vibration, or weather won’t bother this one much. The clear lens and housing are made from tough polycarbonate material that resists cracking and fading over time. That means your light keeps looking good and working right through miles of use. It’s dependable gear you can count on trip after trip.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson submersible trailer license plate light. Now, this is a nice compact, incandescent light that illuminates your trailer's license plate. It is a sealed unit, so it is submersible. It uses a durable polycarbonate lens and housing. It has a nice, clear, painted lens over an incandescent bulb.It is designed to mount onto the surface of the trailer with the mounting bracket. Now, the mounting brackets we do sell separately on our website.
One of them, there's two different brackets that this can use, part number B154-11 or the 154-09K, and again, both of those we sell separately and they're listed on this product page as a related product. It also uses an industry standard two prong plug for the power connection and again, that's listed as a related product and it's sold separately. It's part number 153-49.A few specs on this and then we're going to plug it in to show you how bright it is. Overall length of this is going to be right at 3 3/4" long. Overall height of it is right at 1 1/4" tall, and the total depth on it is right at 7/8".It is for a quantity of one and there's your two connectors right there, so what we're going to do is go ahead and attach our power and then we'll go ahead and turn on our power, 12 volt power, and you can see it lights it up.
We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead light so you can see the bright light it'll give you, and then we'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, turn off our power.But that should do it for the review on the Peterson submersible trailer license plate light.
