A.J.: What's up everybody It's A.J. with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the Hopkins Cross-Check Trailer Level. It's going to be great for putting it on your trailer. When you get to the campsite, you can easily see how much leveling you have to do. Let's take a closer look. You have a couple of different options to install this.
It's got preexisting holes here, so you can permanently mount it to the trailer or flip it around. It's got a magnet on there, so we can just set it on top. We don't have to drill any holes. It's in place. We can quickly see what we need to do to adjust our trailer.Another cool thing I like about this is that it's got two levels on it.
So you can see the side-to-side level and in front-to-back at one quick glance. Let's go ahead and look at how we use it to level off this trailer. We're here at our campsite, and we're going to see just how uneven the ground is. We put a magnetic level here on the front of our trailer, and you can see how uneven it is up here. So, we're going to check this one again, after we pull it up on the blocks. Now, after we've pulled it up on our stackers, let's check the level. Looks like it's pretty good.
Now that we've got it parked on top of our stackers, I'm going to go ahead and put the wheel chocks back in there. Now we're going to go ahead and lower the jack down so I can disconnect it from our truck. When the truck pulled away, we can lower our camper back down and adjust our front-to-back to make sure it's level too. That looks about right there. Now, we're ready to lower our stabilizer jack. I threw two of the stackers underneath there, just to help it get better ground contact.
Plus, if you've got gravel or there's uneven ground, you can help fill in those gaps. We've already adjusted the front-to-back level and side- to-side level, so this will be our last step. Make sure that makes contact. Then we're going to the same thing on the other three stabilizer jacks on our camper. Now we're inside the RV to check the level one more time. We're going do side-to-side first. Looks like we nailed it. Let's do front-to-back. Looks like we got it there too. Awesome. So just goes to show you how easy it is to set up the blocks underneath your rig and even it out, that way you can go to any campgrounds. You don't have to worry about that anymore. You can set it up. It only adds a couple more steps to the set-up process anyway, and it's one less thing you got to worry about.Overall, I think it's a great level. It's nice and small and portable. It's better than carrying around a four-foot level with you that you'd put on the floor. This thing just doesn't take up that much space. So if you don't want to permanently mount it, you can just throw in your glove box, out of the way. But when you get to the campsite, pull it out, just set it on top, and you're good to go. That does it for our look at the Hopkins Cross-Check. Hope this helped.

Cross-check level allows you to check both front to back and side to side. Magnetic back for easy mounting.Exactly as advertised. Worked perfectly. 3 1/2 in hole saw if you need a new hole.
It is an ok product. Probably not really big enough to tell if a trailer is level. A longer one ended up being much more useful.
Very good product at a fair price. Etrailer is my go place.
This is a handy product, and the magnet on the bottom holds them in place so wind and vibration won't move them before you finish. I put mine away after leveling the trailer and am impressed how accurate they are. They match up to what my 4ft. level showed, right on the mark.
Great leveler for your trailer.
Price seems high
Again, made in China…. I wish that was clearly stated up front
Works as intended
Does what it is suppose to do. Easy to install.
We've had this mounted to our Boy Scout trailer for a year now, and the vials have faded to clear, making the bubble more difficult to see, especially in low light. Also, it did not include mounting screws.
The cross-check travel trailer levels with magnetic backs came quickly and we are pleased with the quality of them. Have not tried them out yet. They are exactly what we have been looking for.
Very handy level to have to get the trailer close to level before you unhook it from the truck.
Works Great
For the price the two way level cant be beat. The quality of the tool is good but not great. The plastic body is solid enough and hasnt broken being bounced around inside of a box with other items for a year now. The magnets were not helpful in my situation so I removed them which was fairly easy. Im not using this for a trailer hitch, however for the intended purpose Im sure the level is more than accurate enough.
In conjunction with the adjustable ball mount, I expect that will greatly assist in setting my most desirable tailer height and left-to-right position.
It is as advertised and works
Great for on top of A frame An leveling trailer either hooked up or dropped
A simple level, I wanted it for the tongue of my trailer. It came with a very weak magnet glued to the back - I don't know why. The magnet is about as strong as a weak fridge magnet, and when the level is attached to the trailer using the magnet, the level does not read true. It's absolutely useless with the magnet attached. I pried the magnet off and used some industrial 3M double-sided foam tape to attach it instead, which worked very well. You would also have to remove the magnet if you wished to use the screw holes. Once attached, it worked very well.
Bought as a novelty gift for my sidecar and dash on my 4 X 4 Tundra. Since most dash boards are plastic, magnets will not work so small screws required. Will also work great as a small level check and great price/fast shipping.
We're glad you're happy with your purchase, thanks for your business!
--Easy to install-magnetic back. I added this as a second level indicator and installed it just in front of my tongue jack but behind the coupler. Just be sure that it is inline with the trailer so the side-to-side level is as accurate as possible.
This product has proven its success to balancing the fifth wheel for our family. Thank you Etrailer for always supporting your customers with great products and excellent guidance.
Nice sturdy little level, I mounted it to the back bumper on my truck camper, I like the two levels rather than the round level with one bubble. has a magnet on the back but I took it off and just used sheet metal screws
Good product, fast shipping, but the best thing about this company is their service to their customers. How many company's go out of their way and spend money and time to video how to install the parts. They also have a phone bank of people to answer questions.
Everything came as described, and I am so happy with the products and service! etrailer.com is my definite go to!!!
Once the trailer was properly leveled I installed the level. Will be handy when setting up at rallys and shows.
