2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport recommended Blue Ox Parts for Flat Towing with Off-Road Bumper

Question:

We just bought a Class C motorhome and want to flat tow our Jeep behind it. The Jeep has an offroad bumper with shackle mounts on the front, so I wont need the baseplate. I like heavy duty stuff. Can you recommend a Blue Ox setup AND a good brake system. The Jeep is a 21 Wrangler Sport.

Thanks for all the details Jason!

To get a Blue Ox tow bar to fit with the shackles on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport you'll need either the 7/8" # BX88357 or 1" # BX88358 Adapters, but just be sure to check with the manufacturer of your off-road bumper because not all bumpers with shackles are rated for flat towing.

With that being said, here are the parts I recommend for your application:

- Tow Bar Adapters 7/8" # BX88357 or 1" # BX88358
- Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7420
- Blue Ox Accessory Kit # BLU64TR
- Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # C96JR
- Brake Kit # DM86VR for hydraulic motorhome OR # DM26VR for air motorhome brakes
- High-Low Adapter (see attached helpful article)

The main towing components are from Blue Ox but I substituted the Curt wiring and the brake kits because they are better quality. The Curt wring actually tees in behind your tail lights and the brake kits will install permanently but still remain out of the way when you're driving your Jeep around.
