Question:

Hi, i am looking to purchase a TPMS for my 2015 Grand Design 303RLS. I like the Tireminder i10 and the TST. I am struggling because the Tireminder is $130 less than the TST. I trust you folks. Can you give me a recommendation. thank you so much, Tom

They Thomas, I'd be glad to help you pick out which tire pressure monitor system would be better for you. So generally what we have found is that the TST system part # TST-507-RV-4-C is a bit more rugged and will withstand a little more abuse whereas the Tireminder part # TM89FR has the advantage of being a little more user friendly. What that means is that you can see all of the pressure reading and temperatures on the main screen without needing to scroll whereas the TST would require scrolling to see everything if the amount of tires is higher.

So if you have a lower amount of tires to monitor I think the TST is a no-brainer and worth the extra money for sure. The TST reports fewer false readings as well. I attached a picture of both monitors for you to check out as well.

Well ......I have the TireMinder & so far it works fine .......What doe's bug me is, it starts up when I start the vehicle ...... but it doesn't shut down when I turn the vehicle off .....I need to remember to shut it down manually ..... at least that's the way mine works ....FWIW

Our Lance trailer came with the TST. Actually, when we received the trailer the monitor was not with it. Then found out that their technology had changed and a new monitor would not communicate with the sensors, which was fine, as one of the sensors, held on by a giant hose-clamp has snapped. With no monitor, I didn’t know this until I was servicing my wheel bearings before a trip and heard the rattling inside the tire. Since the TST situation could not be resolved before our trip I put on the TireMInder i10 system I had bought for our prior trailer. The TireMinder has not failed us, is easy to use, but I have yet to experience the TST system for comparison. If they still use the hose-clamp method I would think the first priority would be making sure the band are installed properly. This requires removing the tire, instead of just screwing on a valvestem cap. The only issue with the TireMinder system is powering the monitor. If you leave it plugged in all the time, no problem. If, like me, you have the monitor, GPS, and rearview camera running, well, I only have so many power sources on my truck, so I charge the TM when we stop and it’s good for about 8 hours of driving.
