The product works as advertised. I had an RV Travel Travel already wiring and set-up for Voyager, so it was easy. Pairing worked if you follow the instruction explicitly - although each trip seems to require a pairing. Instructions are a little to be desired. 2 other comments 1) It can be deceiving that in real time vehicles are far away but actually quite close. 2) There was an extra cable included with no real idea on its use and nothing in the instructions. (There is an extra socket in the monitor.)
Great camera night or day, really like the voice feature, it helps backing in to tight spots.
Don't like the fact that you can only use the camera if the park lights are on, this is a distraction while driving and want to use the camera to assist in lane changes. Also, the suction cup holding the monitor gives way causing the monitor to fall out of the windshield which is very dangerous while driving.
This camera works for me. It allows me to see behind me while driving down the road and helps in backing my trailer. It does loose the signal at times, but recovers quickly. I got this particular camera because my TT was prewired for it which made installation a breeze.
I've had this for my Passport GT about a year and it's worked out very well. Installation would have been quite easy had I known 12v for the camera is from the running lights and I needed to follow the syncing instructions EXACTLY. It's very usable both on the highway and backing into campsites.
If you have Voyager pre-wired trailer, this thing is $$$! 15 minutes max... that includes getting out the ladder, opening the box, and scraping off the silicone around the mounting plate (if you don't make the mistake I made :). I had some issues in the 'pairing' process and spent a fair amount of time troubleshooting power, etc... Long story short, I did not properly snap on the pre-wired power plug on the trailer to the camera. There needs to be an audible 'click' so you know it's locked on and then everything was perfect. Instantly paired, nice bright picture and audio. I haven't actually used it going down the road yet, but I'm excited about what I see in the driveway. YMMV.
The Voyager WiSight Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 4.3" Screen
Works perfectly.
It was easy to setup when you follow the directions.
I recommend this camera/monitor to all RV users.
I own a 2019 Minnie 2500rl TT and this unit bolted up and was operational in 30 minutes at the dealer. The camera is clear and easy to use. My wife will watch for clearance at the rear of the camper and I can hear her talking (all the time) when backing up. It just might give me too much audio;). You must remember to turn on your truck lights to power the TT camera as it pulls power from the tail lights.
My camper was pre-wired from the factory to use this camera and that is why I selected this particular model. The primary purpose that I got this camera was to see behind the camper while backing and as a rear view mirror while driving. For backing purposes it performs acceptably, but it is useless to see behind while traveling down the road. The problem is two fold. The first problem is that the refresh rate on the camera is insufficient to have a smooth image, but rather a stuttering mess. The second problem is that the camera seems to be incapable of providing a view that both facilitates backing as well as seeing cars behind the camper while on the road. On the plus side installation was easy and the camera connected easily to the wireless display, It definitely beats not having anything, but it has plenty of room in regards to the issues I experienced. For the price tag I expected a lot more performance than what I got.
Mounted on Jayco hybrid and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Easy to install and works well. No signal issues while driving. The audio works but not important for us. We bought it mostly for viewing while on the road watching for tailgaters.
I have the Voyager plug and play feature on my 2019 adrenaline TT so this was on obvious choice. I went to install it and it didnt work, bummer. After troubleshooting, i got my volt meter out and found that the connector on my TT was reversed. I was getting 12v from the two pins that were supposed to have nothing on them. I was very relieved that this kit came with another connector and was wired correctly. Would be better if it came with an alternative power source cord for the camera so you can test it first so you know the equipment works and syncs before you start to install. Make sure you limit the amount of times you screw in and out as the fiberglass will start to strip so tighten the screws by hand. Instructions say nothing about laying a bead of silicone around it, but i put some of the clear stuff down for peace of mind. Otherwise the camera and monitor are solid. Cuts in and out on the road, but is it wireless so if you want something on 100% constantly go ahead and poke a bunch of holes in your rv and get a hard wire one. Suction cup mount is great. The monitor is huge! Make sure you have room for it on your dash.
Great communication from time of purchase to receipt of product. Shipped in the original manufacturers box inside a well protected shipping box. Had professional installation on my Airstream as I didn't want to drill holes myself and fish for wires. Pairing of devises is seemless. Picture quality is better than expected with no interruptions experienced due to being attached to an aluminum structure. AS owners don't be afraid to purchase this camera for your aluma-tube. BTW, Airstream installs wireless backup cameras from the factory...hint, hint. Haven't had the opportunity, as yet, to test night vision so I cannot comment on that. My only critisism is the display head is a bit heavy however, the windshield mount has held strong and am able to articulate and swivel as needed. In my experience, I can recommend this product.
The camera on my Winnebago Minnie-Drop is awesome. We used it pulling our trailer from NH to the Grand Canyon last September & back to NH. It’s like being able to use your rear view mirror. It was especially helpful when traveling around large urban areas in heavy multiple lane traffic. It gave me peace of mind knowing what was behind me when the need for changing lanes came up. Love it! PS- My trailer was pre-wired for it. It took only 5 minutes to install, but had to reverse the wires on the plug inside the trailer mount to correct power leads. Not sure if that was just a mistake when my trailer was built or something more common. At any rate, simple fix and it works great.
I have found the Voyager WiSight Wireless RV Backup Camera System works very well to let me know what is behind my van type cargo trailer when I'm backing up. It is a great system and has served me well. I would recommend it to anyone who is pulling van type or RV trailers.
Thanks again to ETRAILER for the great service, which I have received from you guys, for many years.
I have installed two of these systems in the north and south, so temps cover both hot and cols environments. For about 1 1/2 years they worked well, couldn't have been happier. Then both cameras developed moisture in them. They had to be taken apart and the silica bag removed. It had absorbed so much moisture some wires corroded and caused the camera to stay fogged. After cleaning and silicone was applied for water intrusion the camera was back up, however the camera had hot spots resulting in white out from sun or auto lights. This is typical for both units purchased. Funny thing is that I have a cheap license plate camera that has worked well all along, while not the picture the voyager unit had when new, it now out performs them both. I can't recommend this wireless brand
I only gave it 4 stars because of the small size of the screen and objects look farther away than they actually are . It is a great camera it is wired to my running lights so they need to be on when in use it's grate to see who or what is behind you like semi trucks or large buses that blow you around . If I'm towing my trailer it is always turned on . Glad I have it
Installation was easy, just follow the directions. Worked after installed and was not able to really use until I took a 2,000 mile trip to test out on various road conditions. At low road speeds 25-45 mph the picture is quite clear. When you get to higher speeds 55-70 mph the picture will become a little grainy. However the camera and receiver give you what you need, vehicles that are approaching you from behind. I did loose signal a few times , twice when near an airport at the same locations. Another time for no known reason. These were only for a few seconds, nothing that caused any great concern. I think this is a good product and hopefully it will perform for many years, only time and use will tell.
Wanted the option of rear view on my Winnebago Micro Minnie. I was getting conflicting info on these units. Made a quick call to the etrailer people and they promptly answered my technical questions. The unit arrived as promised. On Time! Installation was a no-brainer. It immediately paired up when power was applied. A few quick elevation adjustments and Boom! I’m good ta go! Now I can see that idiot tailgating me.
Would I recommend this unit? Absolutely!
It is not often when a product exceeds your expectations. Even more rare is when you find more uses for it than why you bought it. That is the case with this camera setup. I bought it to assist me backing up my travel trailer. Had my trailer not been pre-wired I would likely not spent this much but I am glad I did. Here is what I find great about this product:
1. Easy installation. Really easy if your trailer is pre-wired, but not bad otherwise.
2. Flawless wireless signal. It has always given a great picture.
3. Size. I thought I would want a 7" screen like my motorhome had in it but I really like the 4.3" screen. I leave it permanently mounted in my truck. I tried the window suction mount and between it falling off occasionally and not liking the location I just mounted it above my radio with 3M VHB tape and it hasn't moved in a year.
4. Other trailers. I also have a enclosed car trailer and added a camera to that trailer. It just hooks up to the existing monitor. Handy.
5. Watching traffic behind as I drive. At first backing up is all I wanted it for but now it is on all the time. I can tell easier if I can make a lane change and no one sneaks up and makes a lane change real close without me knowing. If you have bikes behind your trailer you can keep an eye on them as well.
6. I have towed about 6k miles with it. Rock solid!
Hint: When aiming the camera aim it so you see about 3 feet behind your trailer in the bottom of the screen. This way you can back right to when you see a wall or tree in the bottom of the screen and stop. This also allows you see a long way behind you on the road.
Hint2: Mine didn't work right away and it turned out the Trailer manufacturer pre-wired the plug backwards. Uugh. You can easily test it by hooking the camera to a battery using the harness it comes with.
We installed it on our 31’ Airstream Classic by wiring the quick connector into the rear license plate light and mounting the camera on a RAM universal suction mount secured to a clean rear window. I use a short 1/16”, SS cable to lock it to the bike rack installed on the trailer rear bumper. The monitor is mounted to a RAM ball mount that is connected to a wood pad that fits into the front console cup holder of our Ford F-350. Both the camera and monitor attached perfectly to the RAM mounts without modification. Reception and picture clarity are awesome.
Good job
Awesome place and people to do business with!
