  • Can Thule Hullavator Install on Yakima Crossbars
The Thule Hullavator Pro # TH898 can fit round bars by grabbing around the crossbar and can fit aero shaped bars if the bars have a channel on top of them. Which the Yakima aero shaped bars don't have top channels so to go the Yakima route will require round bars which includes the part numbers # Y00408, # Y53TR, # Y03536, and # Y00241 and you'd be set.

  • Recommended Yakima Roof Rack Upgrade for Subaru Factory Roof Rack
The factory roof rack on the 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon has minimal options to fit the factory roof rack which is different than the factory side rails or flush mounted rails. You can use the Landing Pad 15 for Yakima Control Towers - Qty 4 # Y00241 which will allow you to simply remove your factory crossbars and mount these pads in their place. Then you can use the SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y53TR and round bar adapter # Y03536 if you want to use round bars like the 48 inch...

  • Roof Rack for 2019 Subaru Outback with Rails to Carry Hullavator and Hull-a-Port
The 47 inch bar would definitely not work for two Hullavators; thanks for calling that to our attention and that information has been edited. You would need crossbars that are a minimum of 76 inches for a pair of Hullavators.

  • Will Thule Hullavator Fit a Yakima Roof Rack on a 2018 Subaru Outback
The Thule Hullavator, # TH898, will fit on a Yakima roof rack so if you like the spacing and looks of the Yakima racks you can certainly go that route for your 2018 Subaru Outback. With the Hullavator the roof rack crossbars need to stick out past the mounting feet by at least 4 inches. What this means you will need to use longer bars than what would normally be recommended for the vehicle. If you go with a round bar system then you will need the following parts: Crossbars # Y00409 SkyLine...

  • Low Profile Roof Rack and Cargo Box to Carry Skis on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
I went out to our warehouse to measure a lot of the kits available to you. Since the sizing is standardized and your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon has fixed mounting points, you can predict the size of the rack overall pretty easily. The lowest profile kit is the Yakima JetStream, standing at 4-1/2 inches tall. You will need the same mounting kit regardless of what length bar, which consists of: - Yakima SkyLine Towers, part # Y53TR - Yakima LandingPad 15, part # Y00241 What's nice is...

  • Will The Yakima Landing Pad For 2018 Subaru Outback Work On A 2025 Outback?
Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say that the Yakima landing pad for the 2018 Subaru Outback will not carry over to the 2025 model. The 2018 Outback uses the 8000241 Landing Pad 15. The 2025 model uses the 8000254 Yakima Landing Pad 27. Both pads work with the Timber Line towers, so as long as that is what you have, you can re-use them. You will need the new 8000254 landing pad part # Y46VR for the 2025 model. You should be able to re-use your crossbars too. We recommend...

  • Thule Hullavator Kayak Carrier Mounting Requirements
To install Thule's load-assist Hullavator kayak carrier # TH898 on a vehicle's roof rack the ends of the bars must extend out past the roof rack feet by at least 4-inches. You can see this requirement illustrated in the linked diagram. The comparable Yakima ShowDown carrier # Y04081 also has a similar bar space requirement. If your roof rack is a Subaru factory type whose bars do not extend past the rack feet/rails then you can still use the Hullavator but you'll need to add a different...

  • Will Older Thule Hullavator Work With Yakima JetStream Roof Rack on 2019 Subaru Outback
Your older Thule Hullavator 897XT will work with the Yakima JetStream crossbars for your 2019 Subaru Outback. The T-slot on the JetStream bars are 1" wide x 1/2" tall, which is actually slightly larger than the T-slot on the AeroBlade bars so you won't have any issues fitting the Hullavator into that T-slot. As for the length of the bars, I do recommend using the 60" Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00426 to ensure you have the needed space to use your Hullavator. The rest of the parts...

  • Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack to Fit 2017 Subaru Outback with Stowable Crossbars
The parts you listed are correct to make up the Yakima RoundBar rack for the 2017 Subaru Outback models that use Subaru's stowable rack system like you have. Here's links to each part: 48 inch RoundBars # Y00408 SkyLine Towers # Y53TR RoundBar Adapter # Y03536 Landing Pad 15 # Y00241 Since it sounds like you may already have crossbars it's possible you don't need new ones. • Yakima Landing Pad For 2024 Subaru Outback Premium With Factory Roof Rails

The Landing Pad 15 for Yakima Control Towers part # Y00241 which is used alongside the Yakima JetStream Crossbars part # Y00425 and the SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars part # Y53TR on your 2015 Subaru Outback are very easy to install. This process is done entirely outside the vehicle so you don't have to remove the headliner or anything like that. There is actually only one bolt per pad once you remove the factory crossbars which you can see in the attached photo.

  • Can Yakima Round Crossbars Install on Roof of 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Rack
Yakima does have a way to install a set of their round crossbars like the part # Y00408 on the roof of your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon with the parts # Y53TR, # Y03536, and # Y00241 and you'd be set.

  • Can I Use Crossbars That Are Wider Than My 2019 Subaru Outback?
As long as your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon has the factory side rails running front to back, then you can install longer Yakima crossbars. The 78" crossbars may be too wide since you do not want to exceed the total width of your vehicle (due to safety and state laws). It looks like your vehicle is about 73" wide so I recommend cutting the 78" bars down to fit your vehicle's width. The complete kit is as follows: Round 78" CrossBars # Y00411, RidgeLine Towers # Y00145, Adapter # Y03536,...

  • How To Carry Two Kayaks On a 2019 Subaru Outback
In order to carry two kayaks on a 2019 Subaru Outback you are first going to need to start with a roof rack for which I recommend using the Yakima JetStream Crossbar System part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00241. The Yakima JetStream Crossbar System has aero shaped crossbars for reduced wind noise, integrated channels for accessories, and a custom fit set of landing pads that install in fixed mounting points on the roof which makes for a really nice overall look. Then, in order...

We can give you a really good approximation of how much height the Yakima roof rack system will add to your 2018 Subaru Outback with the stowable rack system. To add the Yakima rack to your '18 Outback you will need to first remove its stowable crossbars and install the Landing Pad 15 for Yakima Control Towers # Y00241; these 2 inch tall landing pads will be approximately 1 inch above the top of your Outback's side rails. • Can Two Thule Hullavator Kayak Carriers Be Used On a 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
In order to use a Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier part # TH898 on a 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon you will need to install an aftermarket crossbar system as the factory crossbar system doesn't have the required overhang needed. That said, you'd only be able to install one Hullavator on the roof as two would require a very large crossbar and this is not recommended by Thule anyway. Therefore, you'd need a different carrier for the other kayak and for this I recommend the etrailer J-Style...

  • Yakima Landing Pads for 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
The Yakima Landing Pad 15, part # Y00241 is a confirmed fit for the 2017 Subaru Outback. According to Yakima, these will work with SkyLine towers and Control Towers. If it turns out your current towers don't fit the new landing pads, you'll need the following parts to use your existing round bars: - SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars, part # Y53TR - Round Bar SL Adapter, part # Y03536 This will allow you to keep your current bars and install them on the landing pads if needed.

I can understand wanting to have a larger spread between the crossbars, especially if you're carrying things like canoes and kayaks and don't want to have large amounts of the boats hanging off of either end of the bars. The issue isn't so much the roof rack kits like the # Y53TR with # Y00241 and # Y00421 , as it is the mounting points available on your 2017 Subaru Outback. • Best Option To Upgrade Roof Rack On 2018 Subaru Outback
The best upgraded roof rack we can offer for a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon would be from Yakima, the JetStream Crossbar System part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00241 in particular is what I recommend. This system would provide you with a 165 lb weight capacity which would be the limit for this vehicle. It would also provide you with longer crossbars as well as those that have channels which will make the roof rack much more versatile.

  • Can Thule Hullavator Be Used on 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Roof Rack
I do have a way for you to be able to use the Thule Hullavator Kayak Carrier # TH898 on your 2019 Subaru Outback, however as you mentioned in your question you won't be able to attach the carrier using the factory roof rack on the vehicle. This is simply because The Hullavator requires that the roof rack crossbars extend past the feet at least 4 inches so that there is the necessary clearance between the carrier and the vehicle. Since the factory crossbars are flush with the feet/side rails,...
