Airflow makes or breaks how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This sliding window replaces the fixed glass in the driver-side forward panel of your Ford Transit. Instead of a sealed section of glass, one portion slides open to create a vent along the main cabin area. When you're parked, sleeping inside, or working out of the van, that opening lets air move through the forward section instead of leaving that panel closed off.
When the glass is slid open, the integrated mesh screen stays in place to block insects from entering through the opening. The spring-loaded latch holds the panel where you set it so the glass stays positioned while you're driving or parked.
The forward panel sits along the main cabin space and is an easy sightline into the Transit. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also reduces UV exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the forward side panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the window is set into place, that urethane bonds the frame to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond holds the window in place and creates the weather barrier so you can vent that section without opening the panel.

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at our Van Windows Direct SE Series Sliding Window. This is gonna be for the Ford panel on the driver's side, and it fits 2015 through current year Ford Transits, the T-150, 250 and 350. So make sure you're double checking the fit guide. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time. You can do that at etrailer.com.
Simply enter your year, make, and model and some other questions about your vehicle and we should be able to match you up with no problem. Now this again is gonna be an OE style fit. It's been formed to match the factory driver's side forward panel stamping. It's considered a half slider window, so from the inside here, I can simply pull and carefully pull back the glass. And now we have a screen opening that we can now get some fresh, clean air, get a nice little breeze.
It's also gonna keep insects out when that window is open. Now it is a spring loaded latch. It's gonna hold the sliding panel in the open or closed position. When I wanna close it, I just simply pull up on it and push back to close. And when I close it, it spring closes and I'll show you that here in a second when I spin it around.
Now this also features a nice 17% gray solar tint and it's roughly keeping out about 83% of UV rays. It's also gonna reduce glare while maintaining visibility. So you can see if I, you know, go up or down, you can see my studio lights, but it's not really like a bright, you know, you can see it, but it's not a big glare. Now as far as install, once you've got this opening cut, you're gonna wanna put a continuous bead of automotive urethane sold separately. That's gonna get applied around the perimeter.
When the window is set into place, that urethane is gonna set a bond to the frame, to the body panel and form that seal to keep out water. And that bond's gonna hold the window in place and create that weather barrier so you can vent that section without having to opening, without opening the panel. So it's a very great, pretty simple install. That being said, if you don't wanna do the install yourself, no problem, we have lots of different installation areas across the country that we are affiliated with. Simply use your zip code on our website where it talks about installation help, and we can find someone local to your area and assist you with finding them in your area. And this is that spring loaded latch. So we pull it up and I can pull that glass to the side and let the air in or out. Same thing, pull up to close it. It's gonna pop right back into place. Well folks, that's gonna wrap up our look at this Van Windows Direct SE Series Slider Window. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
