Airflow makes or breaks how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This sliding window replaces the fixed glass in the driver side rear cargo door of your Ford Transit. Instead of a sealed panel, one section of glass slides open to create a vent in the main entry door. When you're parked, cooking inside, or loading gear, that opening lets air move through the center of the van instead of leaving the sliding door closed off.
When the glass is slid open, the integrated mesh screen stays in place to block insects from entering through the door opening. The spring-loaded latch holds the glass where you set it so the panel does not drift while you're driving or parked.
This sliding window sits at eye level from outside, creating a direct view into the cargo area. The 12% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also reduces UV exposure through that door glass.
Cutting into the rear cargo door panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it's set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, urethane primer is applied around the opening before a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW74ZR - sold separately) is applied. Once the window is pressed into place, the urethane bonds the frame to the body and forms the weather seal that keeps water out. Consistent bead thickness helps create a proper seal, and the window is taped in position while the urethane cures.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this Van Windows Direct SE-Series sliding van window for your driver's side rear cargo door. Now, this has been designed to fit your Ford transit van and on custom fit parts such as this window, it is vital that you go through our vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer. Just pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So again, I do stress the importance of going through our vehicle Fit Guide because these are designed for specific vehicle fits and placement.
Now, this rear door window is designed specifically for that factory opening on your transit van. So, it's going to give you a clean OE-style fit rather than looking like it's an aftermarket add-on. The half-slider window that we have here is going to let you open part of the window whenever you want some extra airflow. So you can see, it's going to be very easy to open and you're not going to have to worry about critters getting in because we do have this nice screen. And then, it's going to close very easily and it's going to latch shut automatically when you give it that nice, firm close.
Now, as I'm sure you've been seeing here that we do have a pretty nice tint here. This is about a 12% pure gray solar tint. So, that's going to block out UV rays. It's going to help cut down on heat and glare, but it's also going to give you some privacy. So, it really does seem to block me out pretty well.
I do want to flip this over here just so you can see the inside of the window. Try not to drop this here while I'm turning that around. I'm going to come around the table here as well. This is made from tempered safety glass, so it's going to meet the DOT and SAE standards. It's built with automotive safety and durability in mind.
I wanted to show you the window in operation from the inside here. So, you see the latch and then you see it firmly latches shut, and of course there's our screen. So, it's going to be very easy to use. Installation is going to be very similar to a factory-style automotive window. This is going to bond directly to the rear door opening using automotive urethane, and of course, that's going to create that primary weather seal. So on your screen, I'm showing you some of the items that you are going to need for installation. We do have two different quantities of urethane, urethane for small windows and urethane for larger windows. The larger windows comes with extra urethane there. So, this is probably considered more of a larger window. So, it might be a safer bet for you to go for the large window urethane that you see on the far left. And then, it'd be a good idea to get some tape as well, some securing tape to hold this in place and some primer. So, all those items there are listed there for you by part number, so you can just take the part number, pop it in the search field of our website, that will take you to that part, you can add that to your order.
