In a camper van, the wall space above the bed is limited, but airflow back there can get stuffy without it. This half-slider bunk window adds a vented opening with a built-in screen, so you get air movement without removing a larger section of wall.
When you build a bed platform along the wall, you lose the height for a standard window. A full-size opening would cut into cabinets or storage. This shorter bunk window fits in that narrow strip of wall above the bed, bringing in light without forcing you to change your layout.
The sliding portion opens to allow airflow into the bunk area while the mesh screen keeps insects out. The vented section gives you air movement without removing a large section of wall.
This bunk window sits at eye level from outside, creating a direct view into the sleeping area when parked near others or in public spaces. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Drainage holes at the top and bottom of the frame support installation on either side of the van. Lower holes remain open to channel moisture out, and included plugs seal the upper holes to prevent water entry after installation so the window stays usable in changing weather.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're talking and taking a look at this Van Windows Direct Overlander half slider bunk window. So folks, very simple to operate. From the back here I can pull out a little spring-loaded clip. I can now have access to ventilation with a screen window. If I want to, I can even pull that screen open and I have access to the outside.
I can close the mall with one push and everything's locked and ready to go for keeping rain, moisture, and air out. So folks, if you ever built a platform across the back of your camper van, you may not have enough wall space left for a traditional full-height window, but that sleeper narrow is one of the places where you really need and want some airflow and some light potentially. That's where this window comes in. That's what they've designed it for. It is a low-profile shape, so it fits into the narrow section of wall above the bed.
So you can bring in natural light, fresh air without having to redesign those cabinets. Storage or sleeping platforms. And you'll notice that this is a two-piece installation. So it's low profile. As far as installation, there's no bonding of a window.
No urethane needed. This literally uses this clamp ring. And then you'll have this foam tape and you'll have the hardware here and clips. And you will literally sandwich this together from the outside and inside both, giving it that nice seal, making it watertight and weatherproof. Now I got it turned around.
You can see this plastic clip here. Again, it is spring-loaded. That's what you're pulling to open and close the window. And on the top of the frame here, there are drainage holes and everything built into it. So if water ever did get behind here, it would naturally come and drain out the bottom and never get inside that way. So they thought about everything. The tinting on here is a 17% gray privacy tint. And since the bunk window is straight around eye level from the outside, that's gonna limit people from being able to see inside as much. And it's also gonna give you protection from UV rays. It blocks about 83% of those UV rays. So it's also gonna help keep out heat. It's also gonna help keep out too much of those UV rays. So you're letting some air in when you want to. You're letting some natural light in. It's actually gonna kind of open the space up a little bit as well, much like mirrors do. It just makes everything look nice and bigger. Folks, as far as some dimensions before we go, the cutout dimension is 40 inches by 15 inches, but the outside is 16 and 5/16 inches tall by 41 and 5/16 inches long.
