Hello, neighbors. I'm Steve here at etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Replacement Key for your Thule Racks and Carriers, specifically, key number N2820. You might be saying, "Steve, how do I know which key do I need" Well, it's pretty simple. Go find your lock core on your rack or carrier, engraved on the front face of that core itself, right next to where the key slides in, you should see an engraved number. That's the number that you're looking for.
That's the number of key that matches that core. Now, Thule does make hundreds of these, so make sure you get that number correct. This particular one, as you can see, is engraved "2820." So, again, it's key number N2820. Folks, you're gonna get one key with purchase. If you need more than one, simply change the quantity in your cart before you make your purchase.

The key for our Sears cargo carrier (car topper) 2820 broke. I was nervous, but it actually works!! Ordering this key saved us a good amount of money, and the product arrived in a good amount of time and etrailer was great to work with!

The key works just perfectly on my Pepboys Voyager XL roof cargo box. Since it's made by Thule, they just use the same parts. etrailer's knowledge and advice is great. On the other side, etrailer's shipping service is just atrocious!
Keys r always not 100% perfect need little adjustment some time pull back or some time push hardly to open and close the lock.as if u bye new lock .lt works nicely.
I bought a used tow behind motorcycle trailer that did not come with keys for the latches. The storage compartment is a rooftop carrier. I got the numbers off the locks and ordered two keys which were delivered quickly and work perfectly.
We had a Sears Cargo Carrier for the top of a vehicle. Had not used it for several years. The keys were "gone missing."
After getting the key number off of the lock, we were able to search with Google and found the key at Etrailer with a great explanation as to how these keys were identified.
Short story to a great solution, in about 4 days we had the key in hand and now our useless carrier is useful again. By the way, we ordered two keys and will label the spare clearly to store in a safe, memorable location.

I thought it was a lost cause trying to find a key for my old Thule Sidekick, but I stumbled on this site and this key worked perfectly! It seems to be well made similar to the original keys but is more gold in color than the pictures show. The key fits and turns with no issues to unlock and lock my cargo box. I would highly reccomend this product!!

Great gift for a friend. Received a Thule rack carrier from family, but couldn't find the key. Unit was locked. Ordered the key replacement and opened right up. Found the missing keys inside along with some of there old camping gear. Now daily used for all there trips in and out of town with a full vans of kids. Recommend a Thule carrier for anyone with little to no vehicle interior room.
I originally found the car top luggage carrier on a tree lawn. All of the hardware was there but no key to unlock the lock. There was also damage to the two front corners. I found your address on e-bay and ordered the key by the number stamped on the lock. The key worked perfectly and when I was able to open the carrier, I was able to fiberglass the corners (two coats), sand it down and hit it with some matte black paint. We have used the unit on a number of trips with the last one out to Indianapolis for the Indy 500. You helped save this huge piece from ending up in a land fill. Thank you very much. Cheers!
Actually they should show 2 keys because that is what you are getting. Someone may think they are getting only one key without reading.
The customer service I get from etrailer is really fantastic. To me that is one of the most important part of any type of business be it brick and mortar, service type or Internet.
