Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement shackle strap. This is going to replace one shackle strap for your easy flex heavy duty rubber suspension system by Dexter. And on your screen, I have a photo of that system and our item number for your reference. And pulling out my ruler here, I'm just gonna go over some overall dimensions so you can be confident that this is going to work for you. Looking at the overall length, we are sitting right at 3 11/16 inches long. And then the overall width, we are sitting right at 1.5 inches wide.
And then the thickness is half an inch. And then the usable length measuring center to center there, As you can see, we are sitting right at 2.25 inches. Now, this shackle strap is exactly like the one that you are needing to replace. It is directly from Dexter, so you can trust that it's going to fit right in place of the original. So you're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.
This is going to include one shackle strap. So if you are needing to replace one shackle strap for your easy flex heavy duty rubber suspension system, this is going to be exactly what you need. So much better than the original parts. Heavy duty shackles, brass bushings and it's all greasable! It'll last forever.

I ordered the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension kit and the four shackle plates were missing from the kit. The missing plates were immediately shipped by etrailer when I notified them. The kit components are definitely higher quality than the suspension components used by the trailer manufacturer and the wet bolts, bronze bushings and beefy shackles will clearly outlast the stock pieces. After 12,000 miles of towing, the stock plastic bushings were worn through and the holes in the shackle plates were elongated. The installation was easy, but it does take effort to drive the new bushings into the spring eyes. Just be sure to be safe and use adequate blocking and/or jack stands to take the weight off the axles.

Dexter ez flex came to my door and was missing this part. I called 3x and they finally shipped it to me so I could get on the road. George J was very helpful and express mailed it to me. He was very helpful and I was able to complete my suspension upgrade. Suggestion for the future when packing Dexter ez flex for shipping , use more than one flimsy piece of tape on the top of the box. Now that the upgrade is complete and the shackle link is in place, I have driven 700 miles and the trailer rides very smooth. Thank you George J for your prompt service

This was a replacement part for the shackle back plate that was not drilled correctly and thus would not fit the male shackle part. Once I contacted etrailer, they handled the replacement procedure and got the part to me pronto. Once I received all the parts, the suspension went on flawlessly. A very good product.

I added a 3rd axle to our 2022 Salem FSX 270 TOY HAULER with K71-360-00

These things are awesome and so is the customer service from the etrailer team.
The box came damaged and missing 1 small piece but a quick call to etrailer and they are sending the missing piece ASAP. Dexter just needs a better box for these heavy items.

Parts fit as intended. Make sure to clean out metal shavings from manufacturing process prior to installation. A c-clamp is helpful in shackle assembly. Apply a little pressure and a light tap with a hammer.
Package arrived damaged and missing one part. Disappointing but not likely the fault of etrailer. One phone call and replacement was on it's way. No hassles or red tape.

- Comparing Lippert Never-Fail Bushings to the Bronze Bushings and Wet Bolt Option for Tandem AxlesThe bronze bushings and wet bolts are a great option but they still do require maintenance especially under the conditions you referenced. There really isn't any new information in comparing it is basically the difference between maintenance required and zero maintenance. The Never-Fail bushings # LC279685 are maintenance free and self-lubricating so they will be a better fit for you. This kit comes with the bushings for 4 springs and two equalizers for a complete tandem axle trailer....
