Video Transcript for Camco Propane - Regulators - CAM59313 Review

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Camco vertical two stage propane regulator. This propane regulator maintains a constant gas pressure from your camper's propane tank, two stages. It ensures a smooth consistent flow of gas. It does feature a vertical mount design. It does come with a couple mounting screws and, in the instructions on the packaging, it does come with an insulation template. The inlet on the back, it's all going to be labeled. You have your outlet and your inlet.

The inlet has a quarter inch NPT connector. The outlet has a three-eighth inch NPT connector. This is going to maintain a constant 11-inch WC, or water column, propan pressure. It's rated for 160,000 BTUs per hour. It is CSA listed.

Keep in mind that the vent opening should always face downward. If we take a look at the overall length, measuring from edge to edge, I guess the overall height since it's a vertical mount, it's going to measure about six inches. That's going to do it for today's look at the Camco vertical two stage propane regulator.

I believe the regulator i bought is either defective OR there is something else going on with my propane system. It worked GREAT right after changing out the old regulator, then after a few months it stopped working, all at once. When the old one went out, it would sporadically work, sort of. This time, BAM, no propane to ANY of my appliances. Stove, furnace and water heater. I'm a "full timer" with a 50+ hour a week job, so I'm still trying to troubleshoot my way through the system. If I can rule out the new regulator as the culprit, I'll up my rating to five stars, no problem.

According to Camco, the regulator is faulty and should be replaced. The regulator is covered by a 1 year warranty.

It was almost a perfect replacement for the old one on my 1967 camper! The unit was very close in size to the old one and I was able mount it on the bracket using the same hole and bolts.

The best part is that it worked! It was nice to have a working stove and heater!

Thanks so much for all your help.

I am sorry to hear this. Our customer service department will be getting in touch with you about a return label.

I am glad I came upon this site. The staff is friendly courteous and helpful.

Since I live in Canada it is a big problem if I had to send items back across the border to etrailer if the items were not what I thought they were. The short videos that etrailer provides with each product is extremely helpful in determining to purchase or not. Thank you for that feature. Knowing a little about video production and the costs associated with that, it must cost etrailer a pile to give us (the consumers) what appears to be a simple addition on their site

Thanks again guys/gals

Had to replace it at start of season, we found out it didn’t work when the heater didn’t turn in and it snowed. This was the second one on the camper. Bought a another brand at camping world and is work.

by:

The products we ordered are exactly what we needed and the price was very acceptable. We ordered two hoses to attach to the LP Regulator, we ordered. One hose was incorrect, (our fault) and this company was so easy to contact and replied with paper work for returning hose. I am so impressed with the staff at eTrailer and the speed with their response. I will certainly be using them again and recommend them to all.
Thank you George, Kirstin and Robert S.

Regulator works as expected. Used hole drilling template to drill mounting holes. Regulator only cam with 2 out of the 4 needed m4 screws. Had to make a Lowe's run for some more. So far do good.

Working just fine.

by:

Works well , was in good shape upon arrival . Shipped in the time it was supposed to. Exactly the same as the original on the camper. ETRAILER.com provides an extensive amount of information in general, which helps to find the correct part. I like ETRAILER.com so much that I recommended you to a brother and he bought 4 tires and wheels for his boat trailer.

by:

The regulator came in the mail Saturday. I was pleased it shipped that quickly. I did not realize I would need to change the inlet fitting to a smaller size. I suppose that is the new standard now. All and all it was great. I would by again. The product list the size when I ordered. I should have checked my parts as well. Thank you for good service.

by:

  • What Is the Hex Set Screw On the Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator For
The hex set screw on the side of the Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59313 is simply a plug. I imagine this either bypasses the second stage or the regulator all together but this is just speculation. It won't be used for anything in a traditional setup.

  • Replacing Leaking Dual Stage Regulator on Camper
Based on the pictures you attached it does look like you have a standard dual stage vertical regulator for which the Camco # CAM59313 that you referenced will work perfectly as a replacement. You are right that this is a pretty straight forward process so you shouldn't need to wait around for your local RV repair shop. You definitely want to start by turning off your tanks but then it's just a matter of using a wrench to disconnect the fittings so you can remove the existing regulator...

  • Troubleshooting RV Propane Tank, Regulator Hose and Grill Setup
Troubleshooting a propane setup requires substituting parts, one item at a time, with ones known to be functioning correctly, until the bad part is identified. With flammable gas there is no other safe way to isolate the item with the malfunction. Sometimes if a setup has been idle for a while (such as for a few days while you were getting your tank filled or while the unit was in off-season storage) insects can get into even the tiniest places and clog things up. Some fittings are small...

  • What is mbar Rating for RV Propane Regulators
50 mbar is about twice the pressure as the regulators we offer. The mbar rating for the regulators we offer like the Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59313 is 27.3. The unit of measure we use is inches of water column whereas mbar stands for Millibar. If your instrument can be used with 27.3 mbar then our regulators would work.

  • Can Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator be Used as Manual Changeover
There is not a way to manually change tanks when using the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005, although you can keep one of the tanks turned off at the cylinder valve. The Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59313 will not require that both tanks be opened in order to function but you can if you choose to do so.
