Easy 4-Bike to 2-Bike Conversion

Swagman Quad 2+2 locking cores

The Quad 2+2 quickly transforms from a 4-bike rack into a 2-bike rack to free-up space behind your vehicle. To remove the 2-bike add-on, unscrew the 10-mm Allen bolts with the included tool. Remove the 6-mm set screw, slide the end section out of the tube, and install the end cap to prevent water and dirt from getting into the rack.

Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

Padded Locking Hooks

The Quad's mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Sliding Wheel Cradles

Adjustable Wheel Trays

The wheel cradles slide to accommodate bikes with different wheelbases. Hand knobs let you release the cradles to slide along the bike tray and adjust for your specific bike lengths. Each cradle has a ratcheting strap so you can secure your bikes' wheels during transport. If you need to carry fat bikes, there are cradles (sold separately) that let you carry bikes with tires up to 5" wide.

Folding Design

Swagman E-Spec Folding Design

You can fold the masts down for access to your rear cargo area. Just pull the spring-loaded release lever at the base of each mast and fold them down. You can also fold the rack up against your vehicle for storage. Pull the pin at the base of the rack, fold it up against your vehicle, and reinsert the pin in the hole at the bottom of the rack.

Complete Security

Threaded Locking Hitch Pin

The ratcheting hooks have lock cores in the release buttons so you can secure your bikes to the rack. Simply slide the hooks over your bikes' top tubes until they click and lock them in place. There is also a keyed-alike locking hitch pin that secures the rack to your vehicle.

Nice product. Works well.

by:

Product works great. I would buy another one.

by:

I Really love the design and functionality. But just one year in and it is very rusted.

by:

Was a bit cumbersome to put together, but now it is easy to use and much queiter than an overhead rack

by:

Love the design 2 + 2 is the great. Locking. Heavy design.

by:

Fast shipping. Timely emails about arrival date. Rack went together pretty easily, although the instructions are hard to read. I just looked at the photo on the box and it was no problem. Rack seems better quality than I had imagined, especially considering the price point.

by:

Love the product, great quality. Only wish it would tilt down to get in to the back of my SUV, Otherwise great quality easy use. Follow the pictures when putting together, the written instructions are poor. It took me 30min.

by:

Held bikes securely on a 300 mile trip. I would recommend this carrier for the bicycle enthusiast.

by:

Our family had the need to transport four bicycles of all sizes on a budget. This rack was the solution. At first, putting it together seemed like it was going to be a chore. Build it while it's attached to the vehicle and just look at the photos for guidance. I only had to take a section apart once to fix the placement of a bolt. We will enjoy this product for years to come.

by:

Good product, just installed it. The only critic: the installation manual is poor and it took me a while to figure out the way to install it. There is also no good installation manual online.

by:

Disclaimer: I have not used the rack yet

Pros:
Heavy
and well made frame, the heft should help dampen vibration.
Easy assembly.
Seems easy to use.

Con:
The slide locking arms seem to work well but I would not depend on them as your sole anti-theft measure.

by:

It was pretty easy to assemble. The mechanism is quite convenient. However, the pin of one of the rubber paddingS that's attached to the central post was broken when we received the package. We have sent an email to E.Trailer. We are waiting for their reply and solution of this issue. It's our firat purchase from this company, so we will see how helpful is their customer service.

by:

The hitch and the bike rack I ordered to use on it are both working great.

by:

Very sturdy and easy to assemble. A very quick process to get the bikes loaded and ready to go. Plus, it is easy to remove and store. The bikes don't bounce around one bit. E Trailer was so quick in processing the order and I had the bike rack in 3 days. Best price around.

by:

This bike rack is fantastic. Top notch and easy to use. The folks at etrailer had it to me lighting fast and at a great price. etrailer is great. Thanks guys.

by:

Swagman Quad 2 + 2 Four bike carrier is a premium product for those transporting multiple bikes---the add-on is optional, allowing flexibility as needed. Service from etrailer was very prompt and assembly of the carrier was very easy.

by:

The swagman rack us a great bike rack. Bikes sit in it nice, easy to set bikes in after you configure where each bike goes. Easy to adjust if hauling a different bike than normal. One thing is for sure, this thing is built like a tank. And it weighs like a tank. It is very heavy to take on and off after each ride. If I know we will have nice weather, it stays on the truck. Just beware of weight. I can handle, but it could be a challenge for some.

by:

I just received this last night and put it together. After a couple of hitches, it went together nicely. Have yet to use it, but put a bike on to test it and so far very happy with the product. As set forth in other reviews, the directions are not so awesome, but using the picture on the box and a little trial and error, it went fine. There is no need to post a picture of mine as it is the same as the box picture. I was worried about the durability of this rack, but everything is pretty beefy, so I am optimistic.

by:

I really like the Swagman Quad 2+2 bike rack, it was relatively easy to assemble, though I had to look at the color photo on the side of the box, high resolution vs poor instruction b&w pictures. The quality is obvious and this is one of the few things I have purchased lately that makes you proud to own it, no cheap parts, high quality materials and fit is 100%. I have had other racks over the past decades and this is the first to make me feel good about it.

by:

Good Design, some cheap plastic parts some end caps broke off already. The mechanism worked well on dissimilar bikes and held fast. Biggest issue was the ambiguous and incomplete instructions. Easy to put bikes on and take bikes off. Bikes held snugly in place with very little if any wobble. etrailer support was excellent, Swagman customer service seemed uninterested in the voice of the customer (me) recommending a parts inventory for the directions so we know the complete set of parts and nomenclature necessary to assemble the unit. (Ours was missing several parts and tool)

by:

I have had this swagman quad 2 2 bike rack about five weeks and I love it !!! I usually just use it for two bike set up . But if the family wants to go riding i just add other half. It is very well built, bikes go on and off fast I do not work for etrailer.com in any form ! I would highly recommend this rack !!!!!!!!!!! john PA also loved the videos that helped in my purchase !

by:

Only used once but shipping and customers care was good as it was with the hitch purchased a few months back. Carrier is heavy but since not a hanging bike rack it is to be expected. More versatile for very small kids bikes that cannot hang.

by:

The etrailer staff were very accommodating to get me this in time for our vacation. We are avid bikers, and needed a quality hitch rack for 4 bikes. The Swagman Quad 2+2 is a really well made rack, and it's evident that the designers had all bikers in mind. For example, the tire straps are long enough for a Fat Bike, but can easily & firmly hold a road bike or little kids bike wheels also. The wheel holders being made of metal are preferable to the plastic found on other high end racks IMO. The best part of this rack is the performance on the road. It is very sturdy and all of the bikes stay firmly in place with little to no movement at highway speeds. I highly recommend this rack if you're already looking at a Thule or Yakima, and cant swallow their high pricing.

by:

I wanted the capability of carrying 4 bikes, handling a couple fat bikes, a rattle free carrier, and ease of loading/unloading.
The Quad 2+2 appeared to be the answer, and I figured the 2+2 capability would be a bonus.
When it arrived (in two days!) I eagerly unpacked and assembled it. It is easy to assemble, sturdy and solid. After using for a while, I find that I LOVE the 2+2 feature, and the way it can become lighter and easier to handle when I only need to carry 2 bikes.
It is an excellent value, and I am really pleased with it.

by:

As others have said the instructions are worthless. It is not difficult to figure out how to build the rack, which will take 3+ hours, but the process is made much more difficult because the manufacturer did not seem to care about it's customers!

The rack itself is very substantive and well constructed, but do not expect your wife to be able to put it on or take it off when both halves are attached.

Be aware that small childrens bikes (<20 inches) will NOT fit well, if at all, because the cross bar will be too low for the hooks to be of use. The hook system in general is flawed because they cannot be moved around to adapt when necessary.

Overall a pretty good rack for the money.

For carrying 4 bikes, you will need a hitch mounted bike rack which would require the installation of a hitch on your 2004 Odyssey. I would recommend the Curt Class III receiver, part # C13068. The Curt hitch is the most affordable alternative, but it has the same weight capacity and quality as the other choices. You can choose between a hanging-style rack or a platform rack. Providing your 2010 Nissan Murano has a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening, the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Rack # S64FR that you referenced should fit. To ensure this fit, one simple measurement is needed. Measure from the center of your hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of your bumper. I have a solution for you, but the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 # HR4000 is only able to be used as a 4 bike rack. This is a great choice for an economically priced 4 bike platform rack, and I really like that you won't need bike adapter bars to carry a wide variety of bikes, but it's not going to give you that 2+2 functionality. I might even throw in a surprise 4th option! In terms of durability there are a couple of things to look at. The Swagman Quad # S64FR and Hollywood Rack Sport Rider # HR1400 are primarily steel. • Hitch Mounted 4-Bike Rack That is Rated for Use on Motorhome
The Yakima SwingDaddy, along with other bike racks that are not rated for use behind motorhomes or trailers, are rated that way by the manufacturers due to the more pronounced and heavier back-and-forth and up-and-down movement that occurs on a motorhome as opposed to a passenger car. The two biggest differences between the Swagman XTC-4 # S64665 and the Swagman 2 + 2 # S64FR that I would consider the most would be weight and ability to convert to a 2-bike rack. The 2+2 weighs 86 lbs, but has the ability to be converted down to just a bike rack if needed, whereas the XTC4 weighs 65 lbs but cannot be converted to a 2-bike rack.
