Question:
I really like the idea of having the option to convert a 4 bike platform to a 2 bike platform. What are the major differences between this Swagman and the Curt C18087? Is it worth the additional cost to get this Swagman?

Curt is new to bike racks. Swagman has been making them for many, many years. So you can imagine where Curt might have drawn their inspiration from! Swagman makes a good rack for sure but with that said the simple design is hard to mess up so honestly I think you would be happy going with either rack. If the Curt bike rack, # C18087, is more within your budget then I am sure you will like it and that it will work well for you.
However, one of the biggest differences is the warranty for each rack. For the Curt it is 1 year limited warranty. For the Swagman it is a limited lifetime warranty. Personally if it was me I would go with the Swagman # S64FR.
