For the capability of using a bike rack in a 2 or a 4 bike configuration, I highly recommend the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Platform Rack # S64FR. This is perfect if you want to switch between a 2-bike and 4-bike rack. 4 can be great if you're taking a large crew, but can be a bit long to travel with if you only need to carry 1 or 2 bikes. This is a great solution to having a versatile bike rack.
