TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

This SuperTruss hitch extender is specially designed to work with your SuperHitch trailer hitch (sold separately). Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Towing with a Hitch Extension

Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The SuperTruss, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your SuperHitch trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.

The SuperTruss uses both of the receivers on your TorkLift SuperHitch to ensure a sturdy, secure connection. The solid shank of the extension's top tube slides into your top receiver, and the extension's lower compression tube installs in your bottom receiver. Each tube is held in place with the hitch pins and clips that were included with your SuperHitch. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with 2 sturdy steel collars that bolt around the tubes of the SuperTruss.

To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your SuperHitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.

How to Determine the SuperTruss Length You Need

If the camper is mounted on the truck:

Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.

If the camper is not mounted on the truck:

1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.

2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.

3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

Very Heavy duty and works as promised. I use it to extend my hitch on my 2012 Ram 3500 when I have my Lance 855s camper on the truck. It allows me to tow my Jeep on the trailer behind me. I also have the TorkLift super hitch on the truck which allows me to tow the loaded trailer with peace of mind. The system of superhitch and supertruss work perfectly together and I highly recommend. 562533

Perfect! Allows me to tow a fairly heavy trailer with my Arctic Fox on the back of my truck. Only hitch extension I would trust. 321238

  • Length of SuperTruss to Use with Torklift Hitch on 2012 Ford F-250
  • The hitch opening location for the Torklift Hitch part # TLF1002-30 that you referenced will be very close to where you current hitch opening is. If the 28 extension part # TLE1528 would work well based on your current measurements it would be a great choice with the Torklift hitch. Or if you need the 32 inch you would want the part # TLE1532.

  • Recommended Dual Receiver Trailer Hitch for Extension and Weight Distribution Due to Truck Camper
  • It sounds like you have a trailer hitch receiver already installed and need to add a second trailer hitch receiver for a double receiver to allow for the extension and tongue weight of your horse trailer. Because you don't have the factory hitch welded to your frame as you mentioned the steel pipe being bolted under your truck, you will need to remove the current hitch and replace it with the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - Dual 2" Receivers...

  • Recommended TorkLift SuperHitch for a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500
  • I do have an option for you but the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1100 will not fit your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500. This hitch is only designed to fit a Dodge Ram 3500 from 1994-2002. Instead, I recommend using the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLD1101 if you do not have a factory hitch or part # TLD1102 if you do have a factory hitch. If you also need the TorkLift SuperTruss and then you can use one of the following depending on...

  • How to Determine Best Weight Distribution System
  • No, if you use a weight distribution system on your trailer that is rated higher than you need, your trailer will be bouncing. In order to choose the best weight distribution system you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's GVWR but you'll want to verify...

  • Hitch Extension For Truck Bed Camper and 2 Horse Trailer on 2019 Chevy 3500 with 6.5 Bed
  • Your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 will come with the 2-1/2 inch receiver as you stated with a reducer sleeve in most cases for 2 inch accessories. If your loaded 2 horse trailer is under 6,000 lbs, then you won't need the SuperHitch. You can simply use the Reese # RP45292. And that will even expand to 8,000 lbs if you use a weight distribution system. If your weight is over that or if you just want more peace of mind, then you will need the SuperHitch # TLC1212 or # TLC1212-30 for...

  • How to Use a TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension to Tow a Trailer with the Tailgate Down
  • For starters, the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension will only work if you have a SuperHitch Original, Magnum, or Hero already installed on your tow vehicle. These hitches have a dual receiver tube opening which is what allows them to work with the SuperTruss. If you need one then please let me know the year, make, and model of the tow vehicle. • Recommended Weight Distribution & Hitch Extender to Towing a Camper and Trailer with 2015 Chevy 3500
  • For your situation, I cannot recommend you use a hitch extender like # RP11004 and a longer weight distribution shank, but I do have a couple solutions for you. A hitch extender like # RP11004, will not be able to support the weight of your trailer and weight distribution system. This extender maxes out at 650lbs TW when used with a weight distribution system which we have figured your trailer alone will have max 600-900lbs when loaded and you have to account for the weight of the system...

  • Hitch Extension and Weight Distribution for 2000 Ford F-350 with Slide-In Camper Towing Boat
  • Often a pickup with a slide-in camper in the bed will need a hitch extension for enough clearance to tow a trailer. Class V hitches for your truck can be either 2-1/2-inch or 2-inch, as shown on the linked page. The TorkLift 32-inch hitch extension # TLE1532 that you referenced fits the 2-inch size. • There is really only one solution I recommend that will work for your desire to pull a trailer with the tailgate down. I recommend removing your Class V hitch and replacing it with the TorkLift SuperHitch # TLC1211. This would need to be used with a factory hitch and the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 36" Long # TLE1536 to clear your tailgate. • Which SuperTruss Extension Is Needed for 30 inches from Vehicle Bumper to Camper Bumper
  • That would depend a lot on the shape of the nose of your trailer, but if it's a standard trailer with a decent amount of clearance between the coupler and where the rest of the trailer starts the part # TLE1524 that provides 24 inches of clearance would work just fine. Otherwise a 32 inch long part # TLE1532 would be a better choice if clearances are tight on the front of your trailer.

As far as the extension you will need to measure the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the camper to see what length extension you will need. In order to find an extension this long, you must have a Class V trailer hitch with a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening.
