Replacement AC for a GE AC Unit Model ARC13AACBL2

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 10/06/2025

Question:

I need to replace my GE model ARC13AACBL2 RV air conditioner 410a refrigerant. I want to upgrade to a 15,000 BTU model. Is there a -in replacement available, or am I going to have to upgrade the control board and thermostat as well?

Hey Eric, thanks for the information! Your older GE ARC13AACBL2 with 410a refrigerant is not going to be compatible with any AC components that came out this year. Everything has the new R32 refrigerant now so it's made all the 410a systems and components obsolete. I recommend upgrading your entire system now because spare parts for the old 410a systems are not going to be around long and you won't be able to source replacements down the road.

Here are the options I have to replace your 13,500 Btu Black GE ARC13AACBL2 with 15,000 Btu systems:

Ducted - GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System - 15,000 Btu - Black - Complete System item # GE35ZR

Ductless - GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System - 15,000 Btu - Black - Complete System item # GE72ZR

Ducted with Heat Pump - GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - 15,000 Btu - Black - Complete System item # GE75ZR

Ductless with Heat Pump - GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - 15,000 Btu - Black - Complete System item # GE34RR

Is your current setup ducted or ductless? I couldn't tell based off of the AC unit.

Hey Eric, what did you end up going with for your RV—one of the 15,000 Btu GE systems or something else? Knowing how the upgrade worked out could help others moving from an older 410a setup. Your feedback would be great for anyone planning a similar replacement.
